This is one best New Wave -Progressive Canadian Rock Group ever, almost nearly forgot about them.

I just discovered this song this morning while getting ready for work. Heard it twice in a row. Then 3 times in the car. It's like an epic sci-fi Conan adventure movie with that synth rock 80s flavor with a touch of disco. Great vocals, lyrics, and incredible musicians. Damn, I love it.

How did you come across it?

@beorlingo I wish I remember what I was listening to here on YouTube, but on the right hand side it was there. The album cover looked cool , I liked the band name Saga, and since I listen to everything, I selected it and I'm so happy I did. I love it. Been listening to it everyday.

@Babylonkid Nice! This was one of the first of their songs I heard, along with 'Help Me Out' and 'What's It Gonna Be'. But that was almost 40 years ago. Always nice to discover new (old) music! They also had a song called 'Dont Be Late'. But I think you and me agree that it's never too late!

Careful Where You Step Is A Great Song And Fantastic Wonderful Masterpiece By Saga.

Always had a huge soft spot for Saga after a Canadian school friend of mine introduced me to them round about 82/83. He had returned to Canada (from the UK) to complete his education and saw them in Toronto, writing to me about it afterwards and including a copy of the tour program. A year later, Capital Radio in London (England) broadcast a concert of theirs recorded at Hammersmith Odeon which I taped and sent a copy of to said friend. Songs like Don't Be Late and Humble Stance really stood out. I then discovered other great songs like No Stranger (Ch 8) and On The Loose. A solid, believable and listenable band who don't quite perhaps receive the attention they fully deserve 🙂

This was the theme song for a program in Sweden called "Dokument utifrån" (roughly translated into "document from the outside") when I was a kid.
It made me interested in ... documents from the outside - and Saga. Brilliant!

1981, concert in west gemania...went torally illegal from DDR To west and chance wanted this night was that concert...I never eard rock or any type of that, It litteraly blowed my mind, and I came back in USSR with the disc and all my frends and i were listening in secret parties !!

Saga is not your every day progrock band and they already made that clear in 1980. Ian Crichton launched his new style of staccato guitar and to this day nobody plays like he does. Not a lot of bands hail from Canada, but those who do are really exceptional.

This was the album that found Saga for me. Spotted the album cover - looked interesting - instruments guitars and synths. I'll give it a shot. Loved it, bought the first 2, and all the others since. :)

My dad made Saga a MAJOR musical staple of my early childhood, and this song has always been my favorite by them. The very first time I heard it, it sounded like something straight out of a video game, like Megaman X or something. Nostalgia man :')

Was given a light blue Peugeot road bike for my 18th birthday by mom and dad. Went out at midnight bringing my Walkman, this album in the headphones. I remember exactly where I was when this song played. And the cool summer breeze, goin really fast down the lane.

I love this band. I am in new York now for 33 years and  I had seen them in concert in nyc but I remember when I was living in spain in the 80s and I listened to saga... I fell in love with it. awesome musicians. long live canada

I think so. Although some of Michael Sadler's singing on Heads or Tails (1983) and even on Wildest Dreams (1987) has gotten even better than on albums 1-4.

@Damon Mudgway In deed! I´ve been at the last concert they played at Krefeld, Germany, this year.
It was a fantastic atmosphere and it´s a pitty that this great musicians don´t come back someday.

Heard them for the first time on MTV; my jaw dropped. Wonderful music, I've returned to their music many times over the years. It never gets old. Also great music to do cardio workouts; great driving beat with plenty to keep you engaged musically. A rare gem of a band. Thank you guys!

Yup. Someone lended me a cassette tape with this song, Don't Be Late and Help Me Out. I was blown away. It was the music I wished for and did not know of until then.

Saga from Oakville and Rush from Willowdale. Must've been something in the drinking water back in the day. Two incredible bands - practically neighbours to each other back in the early days.

Oh, you old farts (j'king). I'm only 50...but a loooong time Saga fan. Great hearing your stories of how you got to like Saga. Silent Knight still remains my favorite album - wore out two vinyl copies over the years. Cheers!

I'm 56 and it was my boyfriend/fiancée that got me to their concert...He's gone but I still love their musicianship. Underrated.

If you respect musical talent, musically this band were years ahead of their time trouncing most of what we have to listen to today. Technically inspiring, all class players in their own right who bring it all together with unparalleld precision.

ich war 22 als ich das erste mal was von SAGA hörte,es war der Song "don't be late",das war 1981, von da an bin ich SAGA-Fan,das Album" Silent Knight "musste ich mir im Plattenladen bestellen ,musste 1 Wochen darauf warten ,bis es endlich da war !
SAGA war ,ist und wird immer ein Geheimtipp für Progrock sein!
Ist auch gut so,erzählts nur guten Freunden !
