This is one of my favorite songs of all time, just for the story. Witold Pilecki is a true hero. May he rest in peace wherever he is.
Thank you for exposing the horrible conditions of that Nazi concentration camp.
I'm going to make sure my history of war teacher teaches about this honorable man.

I want to add to the badass list: Wurmbrant. He fought against the Soviet occupation of Romania using Christianity. The Commies HATE Christ and they did everything they could to break him. He eventually was able to get to the USA and told everyone the truth of what the communists were up to. Did I mention that he resisted the Nazis as well?

It was really unfortunate. Most of warriors for independence, soldiers of Polish Underground army were killed during period when Soviets ruled and Moscow gave orders. Moreover, lot's of our partisans were ordered to cooperate with soviet ones and were killed by them. And allies didna give a shit. (Which is quite understandable. Churchill tried to save an empire in downfall and didna want to waste any more men fighting Nazis, so he promised Stalin Eastern Europe. Stalin made sure that we won't rebel by killing partisants, officers, civilians and waiting why we bleed out during Warsaw uprasing). Since 17 September we fought two enemies, not one and both spheres of occupations were brutal. Both used concentration camps, but they used them differently. History is much much longer, but you are probably bored now xd. Tho I can write more. I am keen on history and I am reading loads of books bout it

@Zee Man I am not in home, so I can't tell you right now, except the book Ihave read recently. It is called "Europe Fights" (or it translates like that) by Norman Davies.i think it is reliable source of knowledge, author tries to write without any opinions. It concentrate around European theater of 2ww. However it don't concentrate on warfare only and tells about little of everything.

@Zee Man and if you are looking for some more informations about Polish people etc. I would recommend you "God's playground". It tries to be neutral telling about Polish history, culture, economics etc throughout it. Also telling about some great Poles. I haven't reached 2ww yet, nevertheless I think you would find both Pilecki and others in there with their brief stories. And you will find how they ended
