I came to this video because my best friend told me that he thinks that he's catching feelings for me. He said that he feels a strong desire to protect me, and that he cares about me over everything else. I want to share my short, silly and dumb story of my first and only girl that i think i had a crush on a long time ago
(im too afraid to say this in real life.)

So once around November a girl joined our school. I didn’t pay any attention whatsoever and i just continued being myself. However i was told about a couple of months later i was moving school.
The funny thing is, after about two months of settling down in my new school i was told by my old friend that the girl was joining our school. It took a while for the name to finally ring a bell, but the next day at school i randomly got excited about a girl that i had forgot about joining our school. But she turned out to be in my class again and surprisingly i had to introduce her to the school. She remembered me; since i felt bad i pretended to as well. Over the next week i had to help her around. I had the strange suspicion that she had been put with me for a reason but i let it pass.

Now, since i had settled into the school as i had been there for about three months by then i was more laid back, i had friends but noone really paid me any attention, not that i wanted any. I still sat next to the girl who had been at the school for about a month or so. *Then was when the feelings clicked in*. She actually laughed at my jokes that everyone found stale. I suddenly felt satisfied. But _it was weird that i found her smile cute_. I tried to crack as many jokes as i could to make her happy and also to see the laugh. Mind you, i was barely even a teenager then and i still acted like a child. I hoped to be partnered up with her for some things at school and eventually we started talking more

Ok so that was part one, if you’ve read this far thank you as this is feeling like a public diary where i can finally share an awkward topic.

Part two was a year later when i had good friends and in the playground me and another boy were talking about things when he randomly asked if i had a crush. I was shocked and i had never even felt that way to anyone. So i stood there staring off into space and coincidentally i landed sight on that girl. I looked back at my friend. He said “Well I always knew you liked her, you keep staring at her in class”. Somehow i managed to brush it off.
The next thing was what really shook me. He said that that was good because he had a crush on that girl, and told me to keep it a secret. For some reason i felt jealous. I don’t know how i could be jealous over someone elses feelings, but it could have been to do with how he was so confident about his feelings.

Over the next few weeks somehow i managed to convince him to leak him having a crush to her not out of spite but out of curiosity . I forgot what she said but i think my friend was quite upset the next day.

Now that i think of it he never really talked to her that much. I guess it was because of looks. We were still friends though.

The girl chose to sit next to me for some lessons and assemblies and also hang out in the playground 😂.
I was oblivious to my friend gazing off and kinda frozen in those times with her. I thought she moved to my school twice because of some strange form of fate (cringe🤢) For some reason she appeared in my dreams (cringe🥴) probably because i thought of her more subconsciously. Eventually i realised i too liked her. I understood why my friend thought of her like that, she seemed pretty to me then. But by then it was the end of that school year and we had to all move to our separate schools and it was too late to tell het. I did talk with her rarely afterwards, when we did it was for hours, but I didn’t want to say. I used the same cheesy humour and i guess she found it funny. I kind of wished i could have told her about the feelings but by then we were way older.

That was basically how i came to meeting with my inner emotions

I guess what love is, then, is really just like true friendship. Where you have each other's backs and can think of things from their perspective and want to help them and be there for them. It's very much the same, you just also want to be able to live with them for (presumably) the rest of your life, and possibly build a family with them! And have the sexual attration bit too, I guess, though I think there are probably other things that distinguish a friendship from a romance, like this playfulness or physical affection that you normally wouldn't need for a normal friendship.
