Ryan Adams - Easy Plateau Lyrics
Let's take a ride to the easy plateau
Where the cold don't come and the wind don't blow
Moonlight flickers on the water below
The orange grove blossoms
In the orange grove
It doesn't matter but I think about it anyway
I want a easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
For awhile, for awhile, for awhile
For a little while
Sleepyhead, come on let's take a ride
Up through the alley, take the door under the stairs
My head ain't feeling nothing but cats and rocking chairs
Bad nights lead to better days
It never happens but I think about it anyway
I want an easy plateau
Some place to hang my head
I want an easy plateau
Some place to hang my head
For awhile, for awhile, for awhile
For a little while
How do I hold on to you
If I can't hold on to me
How do I hold on to you
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head for a little while
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
An easy plateau

It's 9 now lol
finally... finallyy!!!!!!!! found this song... been searching this since forever
RA's discombobulated and fragile lyrics aside, the cardinals were a fucking great band. neal casal is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. not only a bunch of talented musicians, the production of this song is A+. not easy putting all these pieces of together and make a track that sounds just like you've woken up from a 7 day post break-up binge and decided you want to change your life.
"bad nights lead to better days/never happens but i think about it anyways"
those lyrics give me goose bumps. RA admitted himself that he was high on opium while creating this record and couldn't afterwards recreate some of the stuff he did, such as the piano track on how do you keep love alive. don't let that be a lesson to you kids. just drink pepsi cola and write songs about how awesome life is :)
This is kinda Paul Westerberg....borrowed.
I'm seriously wondering how the f*** this video only has 16 thousand views. there's a couple billion people who are really missing out
One of his best
Extremely well done and arranged. Not only a 60's feel, but something akin to Chris Issac and "wicked game"....Love it.. Thanks Ryan for the great effort.... I'm a fan!
This the best song I have heard in years. It is so full and rich. I definitely hear a 60's, Dead, Graham Parson influence. Just wonderful. Thank you, Ryan
Kay Teague right down to Garcia impersonation. Ryan Garcia. Neal Castle has spent many a session filling Jerry's void. He would be the first to say thats impossible.
very talented musician...
I love that this sounds like it was written 30 years ago.
@woodstock72388 Yeah I agree... but more like 40+ years ago... In my head I'm in a floating dress, dancing, mind under his musical control, sure takes me back to a good time. Thanks Ryan.
I'm pretty sure this song hit number one in the spring of '66.
love this very "Dead" esque track from Ryan
Hoochus Peters!!!
