Ry Cooder - All Shook Up Lyrics
Yeah! Oh!
Well, bless my soul, what's wrong with me?
I'm itching like a man on a fuzzy tree
The friends say I'm acting wild as a bug
I'm in love, I'm all shook up
I'm, I'm, I'm, oh Lord
Yeah yeah yeah
My hands are shaky and my knees are weak
I can't seem to stand on my own two feet
Who do you thank when you have such luck?
I'm in love, I'm all shook up
Well, please don't ask me what's on my mind
A little mixed up, but I'm feeling fine
My heart beats so it scares me to...
She touched my hand and what a chill I got
Her lips are like a volcano when that's hot
I'm proud to say she's my buttercup
I'm in love and I'm all messed up
I'm, I'm, I'm...
Lawdy, Lawdy
I'm, I'm, I'm...
Yeah, yeah, yeah
My tongue gets tied when I try to speak
My inside's shaking like a leaf on a tree
There's only one cure for this body of mine
And that's to have that girl right here right now
She touched my hand and what a chill I got
Her lips are like a volcano when that's hot
I'm proud to say she's my buttercup
I'm in love and I'm all shook up

Ry Cooder All Shook Up Comments
If you are new to RY-fandom...…. go listen to the Paradise & Lunch album. I heard it in '74 & was hooked.
I was born Feb. 1988 spent my first five years listening to this on the 'Cocktail' sound track cassette, didn't hear Elvis's cover until I was like 16.
I had soundtrack on cassette tape
WOW WOW WOW!
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
Good stuff right there! ;)
Wasn't there another version of this track?
It's on the "Cocktail" soundtrack.
I was too young, to watch those R-rated movies. Very rarely watch those R-rated movies, because I go to church.
"Chicken skin music is good album
Wanna hear "At the dark end of the street"
Great cover of the Elvis classic!! Fun to listen to!! Great for a dance party!
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 73yo Aussie fan.
I feel like flippin some fuckin bottles...
COCKTAIL !!!!!!!! with tom cruise Elizabeth Shue and ( aussie actor ) Brian Brown
have this song in my youtube favourites, love the guitar, drums , rythm and singing must say it beats Elvis Presley's ( original Version )
There is another spelling of that male name. "Bryan".
Absolute guitar mastery!!!!
That's one funky white guy
love this version
ry cooder makes me feel the black roots of elvis' music!
Some years back an older friend of mine told me that "if your going to cover make sure that your copy has your fingerprints all over it."
I think Ry did that! ℗.
a very wise old friend!
The first thing that comes to mind every time I hear this song is sexy naked Gina Gershon riding cowgirl in the film "Cocktail".
this sucks
you suck
Master of the slide guitar!!!
this is what you should do with a cover version make it your own song and ry does
I got the "Cocktail" soundtrack on CD.
+Hannah Richards Ok. That soundtrack has 10 songs.
Hannah Richards j
bars open
Ray Donnelly That's "Cocktail" for you.
Bad Ass!
I have read that this soundtrack startad as jamming in the studio.
Knowing that the recording tape was running
and feeling the good rythm Ry Cooder
started to sing the first lyrics that
came to mind, just to keep them playing...
Great history and great tune.
Best sound track ever to sexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!

Can I get the orgasm?, How many would you like?, Uh! Multiple
did you tried ultimate-guitar?
@Gyitplaya listen. practise scales, chords and note location again and again!
i love both guitar and voice, he is one of the few white musicians that can sing the blues!
PUT THE EARPHONES ON AN' PLAY IT,,,,,,,LOUD !!
This is a good cover and he's a great guirar player, but not such a good singer. I liked the Billy Joel cover of this song better because he sang it better. Of course, no one could ever do it better than Elvis.
It is in the movie "Cocktail" - included on the SOUNDTRACK =)
Always loved this. Cooder really is ace.
its in the movie cocktail :D
@pickinpedaler true, true!
@bluseygal83 i so agree!!
@nikolawesthemkg Got a feeling its a J. Cash number,..............
thank you for posting---best cover ever--- long live Elvis
@bluseygal83 Wow, thank you for checking it out, bluesygal.
Really apreciate it! And - yes - Rammstein might not be everyones
thing. And it is really hard to compare them with Cooder.
Ry is still the god of slide for me.
@CarlBank250 ok, had an open mind & checked it out, just not my thing, but idid give it a try, i still think this is best ;)
@bluseygal83 Don't get me wrong - This cover is awesone, priceless, great, epic... wahtever, you name it.
But it is not the best cover ever. It is second to none, but not the best.
I loved this cober for years and played it 1000 times. ir is without doubt an incredible piece of powerful music, but.... one day, I ran across the cover of Depeche Mode's "Stripped", played by Rammstein. Check it out, it is not blues, but it blows every cover on this planet to pieces. And I am a true Ry Cooder fan.
Every track on "Get Rhythm"(AKA Ry's velvet elvisalbum) kicked ass.
Where can I get a tab for this?
I heard this version before I heard Elvis's version when I got the Cocktail soundtrack for Christmas in 1988. I heard Elvis's version later when I went to see Look Who's Talking Too when it was out in theaters. Excellent song done by two superb artists!
Soul train baby, this is the stuff.
best cover of anything, ever
