Rush - Seven And Seven Is Lyrics

When I was a boy I thought about the times I'd be a man
I'd sit inside a bottle and pretend that I was in a jam
In my lonely room I'd sit my mind in an ice cream cone
You can throw me if you wanna 'cause I'm a bone and I go

Oop-ip-ip, oop-ip-ip, yeah!

If I don't start cryin' it's because that I have got no eyes
My father's in the fireplace and my dog lies hypnotized
Through a crack of light I was unable to find my way
Trapped inside a night but I'm a day and I go

Oop-ip-ip, oop-ip-ip, yeah!
One... Two... Three... Four!

  1. P.... R....

    Neil's drumming is fucking awesome

  2. T.... C....

Only Rush album I'd ever consider buying.

  3. r.... ....

alex should have sung this one
    or niel
    or anyone else
    or no one

  4. t.... ....

There must be twenty guys out here with ponytails

  5. G.... B....

ILL advised at best, and a complete abortion at worst. I’m inclined to go with the latter!
And I like Rush! But this is truly awful!

  6. N.... B....

Arthur would not approve. Sorry boys.

    N.... B....

Sorry, that's not your call to make.

  7. M.... S....

    Another great version!

  8. o.... ....

Very nice! But I'm afraid that Love conquers all...

  9. g.... n....

I didn't know Alvin and the Chipmonks did this!!!

  10. w.... ....

Wow, didn't know so many people covered. Cool that this many bands listened to Love.

  11. E.... D....

    sick, just sick

  12. S.... B....

Everyone from The Bangles to Rush had awesome covers of this lost classic.

  13. P.... N....

They got the guitars, drums and all the rest of the instruments right, really right. But the vocals are a half-rung above a Chipmunks record. And it's not the same song without the blues riff at the end.

  14. r.... ....

Best version of this tune by far!

    r.... ....

rastadarrin it's crazy... but I think I like it better than the original haha

    r.... ....

rastadarrin. love is my fav band

    r.... ....

    you gotta be kidding

    r.... ....

rastadarrin What? You think this abortion is the “best version”?? Pfff!!! Hahahahaha!!! Yeah, RIGHT!!
In some mentalist cheese dream perhaps, but NOT in the real world!! NOTHING even touches the hem of the garment that is Arthur Lee’s astounding original!!
And anyone who says otherwise betrays their complete lack of taste in music!

  15. c.... ....

Absolutely Crasy! The multi guitars tracks? This awsome bass run? This crasy drum kid? Absolutely RUSH!!!!

  16. a.... ....

    Oh my Jesus,,
    D:

  17. G.... ....

I honestly really like the Alice Cooper version of this song too. I don't think I've heard a bad rendition of it yet.

    G.... ....

+GTAfan421 --- The Alice Cooper version is the best one (IMHO). Especially if you can hear the performance he did live on the Tomorrow show with Tom Snyder!

  18. J.... W....

great cover of the love classic song, and love are a great underrated 60's rock band. that album everything changes changed my life musically. and rush do this song well. #rusharerocklegends

  19. N.... ....

    Better than the original

    N.... ....

all opinion. I think its terrible compared to the original.

    N.... ....

@Earl Dwire It's good but the original was perfect. Why rerecord a perfect recording.

    N.... ....

    Not hardly, sorry.

  20. s.... ....

Better than Ramones version but not better than Love. of course.  still a solid 4 stars on my ipod. thanx you crazy Canadian eskimoes.  now go back to haunting Bubbles' troubled daymares.

  21. v.... c....

    Love it

  22. S.... K....

I don't think that they were trying to be better.  they were paying homage to the bands and songs they grew up listening to.  Its very difficult to be better than any original because only the artist who wrote it knows their intent and has the feeling and passion for it.  This is a fun rendition to listen to but it certainly doesnt have the feel of the original.  they're just playing the song.  and its fun and different for them.

  23. G.... M....

Rush's version has much better guitar, drums, vocals, and bass!

    G.... M....

    Whaa......

  24. s.... ....

    mega jolt

  25. T.... ....

    wretched

  26. j.... ....

Alice didn't originally do this song. It was written by Arthur Lee on Love's 1966 album Da Capo.

  27. G.... ....

the original don't slay this sorry dude . i love alice coopers version too off of special forces album.oomp baby oomp baby yeah . that's what is sounds like i love those oompas. rock on rush.

  28. S.... K....

I personally like this version better. the original is more raw. But, I like the polished sound and drumming better here.

  29. s.... ....

i like rush but the original SLAYS this one.
