Rush - Crossroads Lyrics
I went to the crossroads, fell down on my knees
I went to the crossroads, fell down on my knees
Asked the Lord above, have mercy now, save poor Bob if you please
Standin' at the crossroads, tried to flag a ride
Didn't nobody seem to know me, everybody pass me by
Standin' at the crossroads, risin' sun goin' down
Standin' at the crossroads baby, the risin' sun goin' down
I believe to my soul now, po' Bob is sinkin' down
You can run, you can run, tell my friend Willie Brown
You can run, you can run, tell my friend Willie Brown
That I got the crossroad blues this mornin', Lord, baby I'm sinkin' down
I went to the crossroad, babe, I looked east and west
Lord, I didn't have no sweet woman, ooh well, babe, in my distress

Rush Crossroads Comments
Fucking 2019 and I’m still keeping this song on repeat. I absolutely love the second solo from Alex!
Alex is playing like it’s 1974 on this one! His fingers are dancing all over the neck with ease and the inspiration that flowed from his heroes of youth.
God they’re all having a blast and loosening up on the music that spawned them!!
goddamn Peart is just a fucking monster. He's X-Men no doubt. the dude chills back there and still knocks the fucking hell out of the drums more than all other mortals alive.
2:06 GL starts a great Jack Bruce. Whew!
Not enough people have hard this. Fucking awesome.
Best version I've heard....but then again, what did I expect, it's RUSH.
As I read through the comments I noticed that some people seemed to feel guilty about liking this COVER of Cream's COVER of 'Crossroads'. Don't be. Rush is a LEGENDARY TRIO in their own right. This cover is LEGIT!! Now, if someone say's to me, 'I think Madonna's version of 'American Pie' is better then Don McLean's', then I say, 'GET HELP NOW!!!' Cygnus X- 2112
Christ that Alex solo
Have you heard the studio version?
Sweet Jesus ... a FReeper FRiend just introduced me to this. I had NO idea the Guys did this. It is beyond great. Holy fucking wow. Yes, better than the original. Fucking wow. Wow.
Marvelous version!
just when I thought Rush couldn't get any better......
I know it's blasphemous, but this is better than Cream.
@ Tim Lazar Very close, not quite
@Greg Severance Never tried crack...this is better than Cream.
Of course it is. Rush is better than cream...in fact, its not even close.
@michiganstopcat1 Just watched it...Yep, the Rush version is better.
John Mayer's is too.
first time ever looking up a live video of them. I've never seen such an active Bass player.
much to learn from Geddy you do, have fun along the way. and he also plays his footpedals, keyboards and sings.
Agreed with Mr. Striker2112! Geddy Lee is a BADASS!!
Excelente!!
fuzz na veia!
no cream but good
+G Baltas Maybe u don't know, Croassroads is a while earlier than Cream and any its members' careers. It was released at first in the late 1930's by bluesman Robert Johnson.
So much better than Cream.
this the only cream song they did
Robert Johnson*
brilliant , a tribute by one great band to another great band.
Ok, Awesome but what on earth is that National 431 cold food vending machine doing in the background? Are they in the vending business too?
+kim couasnon From what I've read, it's because they used to have amps back there, but since they now feed all the instruments to the PA, there's just empty space back there. Which they chose to fill with vending machines as a joke.
+kim couasnon it was washing machines in a different show. it's hilarious because the old amps used to look like washing machines
Don't forget the tour with the sausage machine and the tour with the chicken roasting machine.
Geddy plays thru his processors straight to the PA system. Started doing that years ago. Alex did it on R40 as well.
genius.
Neil's face during the solo is priceless, showing pride on Geddy's and Alex's playing. The crowd reaction is also remarkable, and why not, it is and excellent performance. Cheers.
Which solo?
Guess this could be Geddy's tip of the hat to Mr. Jack Bruce. Back in their early days, like most bands Rush played some covers, including Cream et al
Very good performance. This is the Rush version of Cream's reworking of Robert Johnson's Crossroads.
