Lately I've been ashamed of the state of the country of America, where my Sean Da came seeking hope eighty years ago. Listening to this song gives me hope today that my country will remember its truth: We are the place where people who have endured come when the world's cruelty casts them adrift, and this is where they will shine. It is how my great grandfather came here. I hope it will be true for some other young man with dreams in a hundred years.

I've traveled much of the Commonwealth countries and seeing how the Scots have prospered in the face of adversity is a testament to our people. The one that hit me the hardest was when Traveling the dry dusty baron Western Australian out back and came across "Glencoe Station" (ranch) It brought a tear to my eye.

I'm another 'English Fan' of Runrig and I CAN'T ABIDE things like MR BL**DY BLOBBY! Please, Paul Cooke, don't consider English People as being 'Anti-Scots'. Many of us just see ourselves as being 'British' without any differences between the various countries/regions. I wish that others would see the difference between Britishness and Englishness. +Susan Littlejohn I will look into it.  My grandmother's grandparents were all immigrants or the children of immigrants from Scotland.  Fleeing as Jacobites that had fought at Culloden or forced by the last of the Highland Clearances in the 19th century.  They moved to Canada and tried to return many times, but could not find financial stability.  So they moved into the US, staying in Scottish communities and marrying fellow Scots until my Grandmother married a non-Scot in the 1940s.  My mother married into an Irish family.  I am always interested in historical information about the Scottish part of my family, feeling a deep identity with my gaelic/celtic heritage.

I do a radioshow on internet in Holland and I had never heard of Runrig until a listener requested this song and now I just love this music. This being one of my most fav. songs now.

Knowing this band all my life made me learn one thing.. There's no one like Runrig.

I first saw Runrig in 1975 when they were "unknown" and they were amazing, I was only 15 at the time. Look at them now, FAMOUS the world over. the only other time I saw them was in Kyleakin in 1982. Fantastic.
