Rundgren, Todd - Just One Victory Lyrics
We've been waiting so long,
We've been waiting so long,
We've been waiting for the sun to rise and shine
Shining still to give us the will
I am here to tell you I have made my choice
I've been listening to what's been going down
There's just too much talk and gossip going 'round
You may think that I'm a fool, but I know the answer
Words become a tool, anyone can use them
Take the golden rule, as the best example
Eyes that have seen will know what I mean
The time has come to take the bull by the horns
We've been so downhearted, we've been so forlorn
(We may be losing now but we can't stop trying, so hold that line, baby hold that line)
We get weak and we want to give in
(Hold that line, baby hold that line, get up boys and hit 'em one more time)
But we still need each other if we want to win
(We may be losing now but we can't stop trying, so hold that line, baby hold that line)
If you don't know what to do about a world of trouble
You can pull it through if you need to and if
You believe it's true, it will surely happen
Shining still, to give us the will
We've been waiting so long,
We've been waiting so long,
We've been waiting for the sun to rise and shine
Shining still to give us the will
Bright as the day, to show us the way
Somehow, someday,
We need just one victory and we're on our way
Prayin' for it all day and fightin' for it all night
Give us just one victory, it will be all right
We may feel about to fall but we go down fighting
You will hear the call if you only listen
Underneath it all we are here together
Shining still to give us the will
Bright as the day, to show us the way
Somehow, someday,
(Hold that line, baby hold that line, get up boys and hit 'em one more time)
We need just one victory and we're on our way
(We may be losing now but we can't stop trying, so hold that line, baby hold that line)
Prayin' for it all day and fightin' for it all night
(Hold that line, baby hold that line, get up boys and hit 'em one more time)
Give us just one victory, it will be all right
(We may be losing now but we can't stop trying, so hold that line, baby hold that line)

Rundgren, Todd Just One Victory Comments
"Hold that line baby!"
This song is like the theme of the winnings that I've got in my life.
Quite a terrific song from one of the most creative musicians. This entire album is ridiculously ahead of its’ time.
Hold that line baby hold that line!
Todd is Godd
Great Lp Nazz was great as well
we are enjoying it on the zigbeenuthouse.com!!!!
The term "genius" is tossed around the music landscape like a football during tailgating -- but it applies to Todd Rundgren.
Listen people now is the time to vote TODD RUNDGREN in to rock and roll hall of fame.for 2020
VOTE

Amazing song, great message & the hooks & melodies in this are so abundant it makes your spine & all other body parts tingle.
Might be a good theme song for the old Buffalo Bills.
Go tribe
No one compare to Todd...have loved him since the 70’s.
This song stands up there with Queens We Are The Champions for sports teams.

Maple Leafs 2019. maybe next Buds. Pray.
I remember (in a way) tripping gently while riding the back roads of Southern Virginia with this on the stereo when this album came out. Literally life-changing
I'm still waiting, but I'm hopeful... Well, months later I have my victory. Praise God.
This piece lets out all the stops. (Signed, organist.) Including glocks! I've heard schlock from Rundgren. Met him once and said so. But this piece shows off.
Nice.
For me, this song reminds me of the morning after the big WBCN, Boston strike many years ago. Charles played it a few times. The best radio station ever was finally back on the air with the regular DJ's. A great morning I'll never forget.
Love me some todd....
Kati, ehkä muistat Visan..
Ai se mtv3:n meteorologi?
I heard this briefly on the closing credits about NBA Star Rick Barry’s bio. I heard it fully from an Atlanta station 96 Rock around the ‘96 Olympics. I think it was just before the Centennial Park bombing or maybe after. The DJ Kaedy Kiely was talking how Atlanta was finally becoming a winning place with the Braves winning it all in ‘95 and the Olympics.
I cannot explain and I challenge anyone else to do so: why does this work of genius have less than 100k views?
Why would it have 29 dislikes? Got to be the most negative people in the world is all I can figure.
@stroiane some people's is dyslexic.. They didn't mean it.. True story.
No bull****! People's taste in music has degraded.
@Kevin Hubbell yes!
@Kevin Hubbell Agreed
Now, more than ever, TURN IT UP!!!!!!
Amazing ! 👍🏻
Man is this song apropo today in so many ways.
(it's spelled "apropos." Regardless, give us one more victory and we'll be on our way.)
"Take the bull by the horns." Take the lion by the tail.
I bought this album in 1973. Watergate was going on.
Love This Song
this is not old….i am but the song is eternal
Hey Todd, Brecksville still thinks "Todd is god!"
I've always thought his portrait should be on the $1 bill!
Live @ Comerica Theater 2018 https://youtu.be/sZs-jC6uFGk?list=PLNMQGxImrBD4nRiQ4VV5yRXMmm-E4RNSe Enjoy!!
この世で一番たましいが奮える曲です。

Todd is GOAT
Thanks for sharing.
I have been a fan since 1970s actually 60s with Nazz!! I was the youngest and couldn't see him. This is one of my most favorite Utopia songs! My favorite is something anything when i was 12. Hub bought me tickets for my Birthday July 21st and he and i are going Thursday this week here in Florida PonteVedra beach amphitheatre can't wait!! Wish kasim was a surprise guest!! Doesn't matter if not!!
i am now now a Cleveland Browns fan
his best masterpiece.
Theme for the Cleveland Browns
Interestingly, it's actually somewhat of a theme for the Cleveland Indians, as it has been played after every Indians home game for some 20+ years now.

@Alan Benander probably the one thing I always remember from leaving late from Tribe games
@Adam Sedlock yes, if one hangs around after the Tribe game until they kick you out of the park to close, one always hears this song.
They should play this at St. Louis Cardinal games this year 2018! LOL
💘 for many years
My favorite rundgren , jammed it hundreds of times back in the day , we cranked it fired those doobies up! Love the overlapping vocals as they fade out in the end, timeless classic ! 😁
How about the two completely different drum kits playing on each side of the cut. The one in the left ear is playing counterpoint to the one in the right ear. Rundgren is a straight up genius dude.
Go Cavs!
lift u up kinda Runtly song!!!
Just saw & heard this last night at Penn's Peak in PA, kickoff of the Utopia tour. Never gets old!!
He was here in Florida at the PonteVedra beach amphitheatre it was so awesome!! My hub prefers a bit harder music however ,we had such a great time! You know Todd is a strange beautiful man and he sang Marvin Gaye's " I want you""
Love the counterpoint harmonies!
Sublime and more relevant now than maybe ever before.
The genius of Todd rundgren!
I know it's old, but it's timeless. I think it should be the theme song for the Parkland kids.
Melanie Fick For people standing up to DAPL, too!
Victoria Brunner Yassss!!
Mel Flick are Chris' and Matt's mom?
great idea
what a song. this guy really needs his llace in the hall of fame. the sound subject and lyrics are timeless. THAT S what a true hall of famer does. in my opinion, wizard/true star is his finest hour. uplifting, and beautiful. thanks, Todd
I also have long thought Todd. Should have been Immortalized into the Hall Of Fame. He wrote some of the best songs EVER. Sings. Plays EVERY Instrument. EDITS. PRODUCES. music that spans the test of time. I have watched him live @ World Series of Rock in Cleveland ( 197? ) I fell in love w/ his work. And his personality. He goes to Collages. Sits in and gives real advice on , How to break into the world of Rock. He cares about the next generation of music . What have you done for your community lately ? .

His best song and this is criminally underrated...
Todd's entire CAREER is a criminal under-rating....
This was his show closer for years.
His repeated absence from Rock Hall of Fame is fucking criminal too. Personally I like Love of the Common Man live the most but whatevs, peace.
I adopted this as my personal theme song back in 1973 and it has never meant more than it does right now! LET'S GO, E A G L E S !!!!!!!!
Paul Bennethum Me too!
it worked!!!
Love me some Todd

An LA friend sent this YouTube clip to me as a resident living in Alabama after Doug Jones victory last night 12-12-17 for the US Senate race over cowboy horse riding gun tote ‘n Roy Moore. He also sent $$$ from CA to help fund his campaign. Todd would honor that. Great to hear this tune again after many many years!
It says it all. Alabama is an inspiration.
U of M anthem. Go Bucks!
Too bad he's a full blown libtard now. Walked out of his concert(along with about 100 others)in sept. of '15 @ the rockcino in cleveland.

I don't disagree with a lot of what you are saying, so let's have an honest conversation. How many times has Trump lied since he started campaigning and became president? How many people close to him have been indicted? How many affairs has he had while married? How many times has he degraded the news media and the FBI, both of which have to be trusted for our society to function properly?
See, it's not so much "just" complaining. It's pointing out the obvious stupidity of the person that was elected to lead this country and the gullible who voted for him. Should the Democrats have tried harder to get more people out to vote so this disaster couldn't get elected? Absolutely, and it's an enormous problem that only 58% of eligible voters voted in 2016. But if the special elections are any indication, things are changing rapidly. Trump is probably the best thing that's ever happened to the Democratic Party.
Don't you understand how this is different. We accepted it when the Supreme Court gave Bush the presidency and when you stole a Supreme Court seat. But by God, this guy is a NAZI.
J Cloutier lord can’t we just enjoy the music with out it turning to Trump, sad real sad
+Shane Clower I agree 100%. Let's keep politics out of music. Richard in Dallas
@Dr. TJ 4 more years
Saw Todd do this live in 1973. Still one of the best concerts I've seen. Thanks for sharing!!! Great memories.
Lucky you!! 😍😍😍😍
cleverlouanne Saw him in 1981 and agreed—-awesome show. A wizard—a true star. ⭐️
