Roy Orbison - No One Will Ever Know Lyrics
No one will ever know my heart is breaking although a million teardrops start to flow
I'll cry myself to sleep and wake up smiling I'll miss you but no one will ever know
I'll tell them we grew tired of each other and realized our dreams could never be
I'll even make believe I never loved you then no one will ever know the truth but me
Each time the past comes back to haunt me so
No one will ever see the tears I'm hiding
Yes you've hurt me but no one will ever know
I'll tell them I've found true love with another
And that I was glad the day you set me free
I'll even make believe I never loved you then no one will ever know the truth but me

The Hank Williams version was just too depressing, but everyone knew it was well written.
even ELVIS said Roys voice was best ever

ELVIS SAID ROY WAS THE BEST SINGER THAT EVER LIVED......THATS ONE THING HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT

Song not written by Hank! Fred Rose composition!
Know one will ever know, that I walked, In the same footsteps that Roy walked in, down the same streets of Wink, where few have ever gone.... I walked right by where he sang his first songs in the back of a car, Not very far from where there is now a sink hole or was a sink hole not long ago...I, even heard his "preacher," kin in another city, no one will ever know the truth but me.....

Pred 23 rokmi som bola tehotna a mala som velmi zle obdobie, dala som si poslat z USA CD s piesnami Roy Orbisona, pocuvala som ich non stop, pomohli mi dostat sa z najhorsieho, mam krasneho, zdraveho syna a presne dnes mi pomohol znova. Obrovskska vdaka, skladam klobuk pred takym umelcom.
One of the best.
They called Elvis the King, but they were wrong because from the 1950's until his death in December of 1998, there was no better singing voice in this world than the heavenly voice of Roy Orbison. Will we ever get to hear a great voice like Roy had again? And his song selection was absolutely divine. Thanks for the marvelous post.
Roy died on December 6, 1988.
Mickey May Roy just has that edge, but love them both to bits
YES ROY WAS THE BEST............EVEN ELVIS SAID SO
Everley brother
Dozens of versions of this great song have been recorded in many different styles.. One of my favourite versions (in addition to Marty Robbins) is one by Brantley Kearns and the wonderful Heather Myles. It's worth checking out....along with other songs by Heather Myles.
Hank Williams composition by Roy Orbison….wonderful.
Actually written by Fred Rose and Mel Forre around 1945.
Only ever heard Dion & The Belmonts version of this but this is great also. Once told someone ..."the saddest song ever written."
Dion and the Belmonts? Are you sure? They recorded "No-One Knows" but it is not the same song.
I played this song in a jukebox and sang it to my fiance' for our last dance when she told me she had been unfaithful and broke the engagement. First night home on leave from overseas. Man, was I lucky.
The greatest singer on the planet
I love Roy too, but in my opinion Johnny Cash is the greatest.
@Kenny Dobbins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV9GxtDao9g This is them having a duet. I fucking love Johnny Cash but Roy is the better singer. But it does nothing for the love I have for Cash. :)
First time hearing this by Roy Orbison. Really love it. Have a few cd's of his and love to hear him sing. He was my late husband's favorite. Thanks for sharing................Joni
Great song :D
What A Fantastic Voice and A Classic Song
A unique version of this great song that only Roy Orbison can deliver. Roy's version kills it, as usual!
Just another beautiful song from Roy Orbison, it's the first time I've heard Roy sing this song and I have YouTube to thank. YouTube and those who have posted so many of Roy's great songs that maybe we might never have heard has done a great service to Roy's fans. Without a doubt Roy Orbison had one of the greatest and most beautiful voices in the history of Rock & Roll.
Milton, I do hope that Roy's fans know who and realize how GREAT Fred Foster was (is) !!
Es gibt Menschen, die treten in unser Leben und begleiten uns für eine Weile. Manche bleiben für immer, denn sie hinterlassen Spuren...Tollen Tag Merci Mambo
Roy is the boss!!!
abdel mohammed j
frank ifield are you joking roy is way better never even heard of this loser until you said he was a better singer than roy orbison stay in your own crountry living in your fantasy world
@Trampus Lane I agree with Mark Sherer on this, I reckon Roy's version is good, Frank Ifield's version is better BUT for me it's a toss up between Marty Robbins & Jimmie Rodgers versions as being the best. (PS I'm an Australian as well).
frank ifield? mark sherer, you are the typical australian idiot,- "we are as good as... if not better."dumbo !!
What a wonderful old song this is and Roy does a great job singing it. And listen to, "Shahdaroba," by Roy.
No one will ever touch the full greatness of Roy Orbison. But, this song belongs to
Jimmie Rodgers. His 1962 recording of the beautiful Fred Rose song is so deep and haunting that tears will flow, if you have any soul in you at all. FYI, this song was first recorded in 1946 by the great Roy Acuff. Please, for your own benefit give the Jimmie Rodgers version a good listen.
Love Roys singing, BUT you must go to Frank Ifields version of this song, Ified knocks this one out of the Park......
YOU MUST BE JOKING
There will never never ever be another singer like Roy Orbison.
I love Frank Ifield too but Roy will always be my favourite...
Thanks for introducing me to Frank Ifield over in Australia. Not as smooth as Roy nor as many octaves, but a darn good entertainer & like his yodeling. You just got Frank another fan. God Bless!
Mickey May introducing you to Frank Ifield in Australia? He came from Australia having emigrated there with his parents when he was 9. I thought he was famous in Australia before we heard of him in the UK?
You might want to take a listen to Gerry Grant (on YouTube). He was an Orbison impersonator who actually sounded like Roy. Unfortunately, Grant is no longer with us.
That IS for certain! BTW the "In Dreams" album from which this is taken is a very good one from Roy. 6/2019
Legend, Jimmie Rodgers version is also great!
Turns out a lot of people covered this song; Roy O, Jimmie Rodgers, Frank Ifield, Al Martino, Ray Price, to name a few.
Fantastic. He seems to suck you right into the song with him. Thanx for sharing this with us.
Makes me sad ....... gone too soon RO xx
always fantastic my hero
No, Thomas; Frank Ifield. Very popular Englishman in U.K. and Australia during 60's. Have a listen on youtube, you will enjoy.
Please Frank HOW
agreed, thank you for uploading
I know what you mean Genevieve. So many great singers but he was the best and when a great singer like Elvis says so you take note.
No one will ever know how much I miss Roy Orbinson - LOVE YOU XXX
Check out the Frank Ifield version - much superior
My all time favorite singer since the fifty's. Back when Ooby Dooby sold minimal copies and then he combined two songs (cause he was told ) and then sang Only the Lonely. I actually saw the concert where Elvis pointed him out in the front row and said he was the greatest singer on earth. What a remarkable comment from a noted singer as Elvis!! Wes Love
Coming from The King, that is celestial praise, indeed.
Thank You So Much For This Great Posting.
Years ago Elvis, said that Roy Orbison has the greatest voice in the world.
Thanks Again.
Never before , never since , never again, a voice like Roy Orbison !.
A song that hit my heart and always made me think of my very first boyfriend when we were just 14yrs old we're 66yrs old now and email daily.
Art should be about celebrating beauty. In the pain of his emotions, there is power and beauty in Roy's music. Unlike the ugliness in music today. May Roy never be forgotten.
LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH:)
Beautiful
PERFECT MR ORBISON but so was everything you sang x
Amen to that.
Simply Roy is the best of the best what more can I say . all ways loved his songs he puts everything in to them and he would brighten up any ones day his songs are so good .
I'll never grow tired of Orbison's voice.

Every song Roy sings is a good song!!! He never sounded bad never!!!!
one of the orbisons' legendary sounds... drunk with it.
Loved this man and all his music since 1961 and Only the Lonely............ Still feel the same today
