Roy orbison should be in the rock in roll hall of fame& the country music hall of fame

I was 10 years old when I first heard this song, in the movie Mighty Joe Young. It was the melody that would quiet down Joe when he got upset....It has been my all time favorite since then --70 years ago.

Before the commercial, I only ever knew the version played in the original 1949 Mighty Joe Young movie. I ain't that old...I just like old movies...and the melody of this song...and Roy's voice.

Well aware of the song, but when I heard THAT VOICE in the commercial, I had to research it. Initially didn't recognize it as RO, but not surprised. Hauntingly beautiful rendition.

One of the (very few) fringe benefits of being really (expletive) old is having been around when singers like Roy Orbison were still with us.  Saw him in 1977 and then again in 1984.  The first time seeing - and most importantly hearing - him in an auditorium, seemingly raising the roof with his voice, was quite exciting.  In fact - arriving for the second show of the evening in 1977 - I could hear him driving past the venue.  In 1984, he was appearing outdoors - so the effect wasn't quite the same.

I have loved Roy Orbison since I was about 16 years old and to me he is and always will be the greatest of all the pop singers.  His voice is so haunting.

has to be the best male vocal voice of all time . so many fellow musicians have paid such wonderful compliments to roy and he was such a humble man . I saw him in concert twice 1975 and 1980 and I walked out of my job to be there that night and it was worth the loss !! thanks roy never forgotten in my thoughts
