Ross, Diana - My Man Lyrics
It's caused me a lot
But there's one thing that I got
It's my man
Cold and wet
All of that I'll soon forget
With my man
He's not much for looks
And no hero out of books
But I love him
Two or three girls has he
That he likes as well as me
But I love him
I don't no why I should
He isn't true
He beats me to
What can I do?
Oh my man, I love him so
He'll never know
All my life is just despair
I don't care
When he takes me in his arms
The world is right, all right
What's the difference if I say
I'll go away
When I know
I'll come back on my knees some day
Whatever my man is
I am his for ever more
What's the difference if I say
I'll go away
When I know
I'll come back on my knees some day
Whatever my man is
I am his for ever more

Beautiful wow 🙌🏽💖🙌🏽💖
Diana Ross was, is and will always be an entertainers entertainer...no one else like her. The woman is simply amazing!
Beautiful!!!!!
Every time she sings, I feel a catharsis along with her.
I truly feel her emotions going through me.
This is Diana at her peak vocally. This is not the same voice that gave you "Baby Love" She has never been given credit for the evolution of her voice. This Diana can sing anything with the best of em
Brilliant!! And who's playing the piano!?!! Her musicians are the best
For whatever my man is, I'm his forever more....
oh my man I love him so!!
I love love this song. Nobody but D. Ross can belt this out paint the picture.
The entire concert was one of Diana Ross's most celebrated concerts Barr none easily equal to the very heralded "An Evening With Diana Ross " concert just brilliantly executed ,on all points vocally, visually, staging, and production wise just a stunningly brilliant showwomanship. And it was original like none before nor since.
'SING IT DIANA' 😂👍👌🙌👏🌎📯🎵🎶🎹🎻🎺🎷🎸💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
A performer can't give more than Ms. Ross gave here. Legendary.
Just superb! Bravo Ms. Ross.
Lovely Lady Bird 🕊 Her Voice is so Soothing I Have Her Eyes I've Been Told😍
She is just gorgeous in beauty inside and out
Oh, my goodness, just saw her on 60th anniversary of Motown. She is still a bad girl. I loved her in lady sing blues and mahogany. The girl is a born natural, beauty and all. What memories and emotions she stirred up in Barbara. Thanks Diana

Wauw it came from her soul&heart! She was at her best at this Concert in 1979, why was she crying?
That is how it should be done!
With me At 58, she's still my #1 female artist. A true Legend!! this is one of my favorite songs of many by Ms. Diana (Boss) Ross. I love me some her. ;)

She pronouce her words beautifully and her face control is what always buy me with her and her song Deliverance
Mics are so heavy and Diana always held it so effortlessly
Diana is so beautiful when she cries. So much credit to the camera crew for capturing her at her just beautifullest moment in life.

Wow!! Siiiiing
1979, age 12 and mesmerized by this lady right here; Diana Ross. I remember recording this HBO concert and watched over and over! I'm unable to locate full concert on YouTube. PEACE
My man!
what an absolutely incredible performance. No one can touch this song except Diana Ross. Now THAT is something very special and extremely rare. FANTASTIC!
Perfeita !!!!
BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE!!!! THE CLASSY LADY SHE IS!!!!!!
Mama was really feeling this song. All these years I've wonder who was she singing about. I've heard more than once she regretted her divorce from her first husband Bob Silberstein. I wonder if it's him........ Anyway, a great performance from Miss Ross. The lady is a treasure!
BERRY GORDY....
Sung from the depths of her heart as I know a woman yearns. No "true man" can turn THAT away!
She has soooooo many classic performances....and this is yet another! Bravo!
She's perfection. So much class, so much elegance
U can't play around with that song wen u have experienced it she already knows sing it Diana sing!

no one and I mean NO ONE occupies the same place on a stage with her. No one.
She was even better in "Out of Darkness", a film about paranoid schizophrenia..

A TRUE DIVA
It's great there are in French, I'm French ; )
You put subtitles later on these videos ? because I swear I didn't see them before !!
YASSS!!!
Saw this on HBO in 1979 and never forgot about it -- found it here couple of months ago. You can't watch this and not understand what a fantastic artist she is. You can also find here on youtube great performances she did with Michael Jackson, both in the Wiz and some nightclub-style song and dance stuff they did together.
How can people say she can't sing ? She CAN SING and very well with that!!
they say that because she's not powerful or loud or doing a bunch of riffs and runs... but diana can most certainly sing
Very elegant soprano vocalist. I agree 110% Teddy.
You can see that Ms. Ross is an expert performer. She did not have to take her clothes off, nor does Ms. Ross have to shake her body to sell her music, unlike the young entertainers of today.
I mean, no one HAS TO DO that. People do what they want to do, what makes them happy, what they feel good at. If it makes people uncomfortable, that's fine. Plus Diana Ross wasn't ashamed of how sexy she was, she'd show some skin. People can be talented AND sexual.
Beautiful, simply beautiful voice.
The hairs on my hairs stood up.
Absolute perfection in every way. Still my favorite concert video from her.
Love!!!!
This goes so deep!
Smokin! the Radman
This was an unexplainable moment, i don't like say this things but she touched me, i felt her vulnerability so much that i became vunerable for a moment. And it's not because she cried, though as i am human i must say it added some fuel to the emotion i felt. Ross with her lovely voice, her blues, and even belting. She's got her style and she stays in the right place, not too much nor less. It's so amazing how a person could have achieved that place. She's an extraordinary person, a living legend.
una bella interpretazione come quella di Billie
Thanks to Diana Ross' interpretation of Billie Holliday's music in "Lady Sings the Blues" an entire generation knows the words of the greatest jazz songs...
the best my favoriet
¡Happy b'day Diana!!!
BLESSINGS 👑
reminding Billie Holiday, beautiful!
female entertainer of the century , she deserves that title
Ju L. yes, yes
Sublime... she is brilliant... wish she would come back with an album.... why was he song so difficult for her at that point of her career... personal difficulties I suspect but that adds to the emotion
:) ♥ (Y)
♫ ♪ ♥ AMOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ♫ ♪ ♥
Perfection !!!!!
Listen to that vocal technique at 3:40 on the word "more." She sings "moooaaaaaoooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" Perfection! Others come and go, but I always find myself appreciating Ross the most. Shame that more people don't recognize her immense talent. Those in the industry know.
Doesn't get any better.
People compare Diana to Barbara, but they are totally different artists. Yet, Diana’s version here is best! Diana is a more versatile singer. Her version captures the sentiment of the song as if she lived it. Barbara sings technically well, but I would not say she lived it through listening to her. She lacks that kind of heartfelt soul & interpretation for this material-type vs. manufacturing it. I even feel that when Barbara sings “Cry Me A River” due to its lack-luster, but Sam Cooke aces it. It’s not about just having a so-called perfect voice, but interpretation & capturing the mood of the material, though they are all good singers.
Breathtakingly Stunning!!!!
This is a classic! Love this!
This is such a great song. I love the opening monologue. The singing and voice is out of this world.
I thought it was gonna be My Man from Funny Girl... but this is good too!
It is the same song. Written for the real Fanny Brice, her signature song, and then recorded later by Billie Holiday, then sung by Barbra in Funny Girl.
This songs sounds amazing with her voice...amazing!
Bravo",
Love her! Thanking her for all the years of incredible beauty and music! TY for posting, Debra.

Ann Dandridge POWERFUL PEOPLE and FRIENDS
I just love this lady... her music has given me so much joy...thank you Diana...
I've watched this performance ever since it premiered on HBO. I was stunned by it. Still "stung" by her effervescence.. A remarkable lady. I love you Miss Diana Ross..
wow, what a performance from the diva of divas.
Now this is a TRUE Diva!!!
Yes isn't she Robert . just love her . bring back such pleasant memories . she singing this one for her. Sing Diana , you and Billie got this.
now that's a diva
I love when she says I hate that line.
I cried with her..
I strongly disagree wit whoever said 'so near perfect'- She sung this song perfectly! She performed it da way every studio producer tries 2get singers 2perform,1st ''knowing'' then ''owning'' da song with 'emotional clarity'& from someplace inside them.U were perhaps speakn from a technical vocal meaning i'll assume. Its probally da reason 4those 3 dislikes-because it wasn't ''just like the record''. Sometimes as a fan of music u jus hav2gobeyond the 'note4note' & jus njoy d emotion comin across
If she never did anything else? She is phenomenal.
Love it! Love It! THE DIVA Diana Ross
