Diana sounds so pure. Her vocals are so clean crisp. Great music. I wish this song was a little longer in length. Her best writers were, Nick and Valerie, Michael M. and Bernard & Nile.

I always believed that this album was even better than her 1st solo album that produced Ain't No Mountain High Enough... Reach Out, I'll Be There has a PERFECT VOCAL and Perfect Production and Arrangement AND Mix...

Great song from a very underrated album. Rolling Stone magazine gave this album a very tepid review. Whatever. Wish she would have done more songs like this.

If this had been Barbara Cher or Bette Rolling Stone Magazine would have loved and praised this album.

In the UK the "Surrender" album was re titled "I'm Still Waiting" due to the massive popularity in the UK of the "I'm Still Waiting" track simply added to the "Surrender" album's UK release "https://www.discogs.com/Diana-Ross-Im-Still-Waiting-Surrender/release/3512754

This track is well worth hearing on headphones. Diana double-tracks the initial vocals with one voice on each headphone. You can hear the slight differences between the vocals. When she comes to sing "And I want to be by his side" the two vocals swoop and join in the middle of the sound spectrum. Exhilarating ! Great production by songwriters Ashford and Simpson with arrangements by my favourite Motown arranger Paul Riser (Papa was a Rolling Stone, My Girl, Marvin's I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Reach Out and Touch, Tears of a Clown).

No female singer in the world has sung so many good songs. The arrangament of the song is fantastic. It is as though Diana inspired the musicians.

I totally love this track from her :Surrender" album, but my favorite cut from the same album is her cover version of "Reach Out, I'll Be There".

The best is Diana Ross.

This is def top 20 Ross cuts! Must listen on a newer format - is even more amazing. I crank the crystal clear iTune version in my 'vert 'round SaMo and her voice is awesome, even at full volume. How this collection was so lost and overlooked, is a not only a tragedy to the D.R. community, but also those passionate about good 70's, honest, authentic, extraordinary, pop-soul music. As a lifelong fan, I'm embarrassed I didn't discover this collection of work until much later. Shame on me!!

Nick Ashford is one of my all-time favorite lyricists. I had the privilege of meeting him once and told him the story of how I came to buy this album when I was a young girl. I had gotten some birthday money, went to the record store but could only afford one record. It was a hard decision but I finally decided on this one not because of the singer (though I loved Diana Ross), but because most of the songs were written by him and Valerie Simpson and I knew I'd probably love them. And I did.

This song is filled with so much imagination; every time I hear it, it sweeps me off my feet......

This would be nice to trend.... did anyone notice me at North Star Mall modeling at New York and company in San Antonio this past saturday..... They some amazing pieces out for this winter!

yeah, after hearing this, i purchased the extended surrender remastered cd too. i love diana ross. i have about thirty diana ross cds and before i die, i'll probably acquire 30 more. that's just how much i love her. i keep waiting for them to release an extended remastered version of her self-titled diana ross cd which features kiss me now and her original version of smile which is not contained on her blue cd. oh, i love that blue cd. it is such a gorgeous presentation. it's so wonderful

I thought this was THE best song on Surrender. The recently released version of Surrender was better than what they released in 1973 but this song is the one they should have released. The double tracking what makes it.
