I feel like i hate the vocals but the music is much better than what would normally be behind the "punk" vocals and it veers instead into post punk/new wave territory where it makes the vocals almost deliberately bad and in the context of the music and lyrics makes everything come together in a really compelling way. You have my ear mr.rosenstock

Jeff's my favorite artist and I introduced him to a friend. Said friend described it as "Some greasy punk rolling around in a dumpster with a busted guitar"


I agreed completely and he now loves Jeff too. The beauty of flaw.

they have similarities, i was being surreptitious. i do listen to a lot of musics all the time but if i listened to this band or say anything i wouldn't compare them you know how people compare shit that sounds similar to them its subjective yo and this was my first impression i am sure some people saw that comment and knew not to look to into it. im always one to say each band sounds unique in some way

i like this thread. This was my first impression, as well. and by no means is that a bad thing.

I've been listening to Jeff and Bomb the Music Industry for years now, love the guy and the band to death and wish nothing but the best for them.

Also, "a shitty version of Say Anything" is mostly accurate, it's part of their appeal more than much else.

I’m a huge Say Anything fan, and also a huge fan of Jeff and BTMI (not a big ASOB fan though).

Jeff doesn’t sound like Say Anything, and even if he did it’s not like Max Bemis invented this style of music.
