First saw in in bar on mississipi river in st louis...and was completely hooked

We met Rory after a gig in Sydney in about 1980 ...he was so lovely ..gave us the drummer's drumsticks and his own plectrum ! Our prized possessions !!!!! Wonderful man ..brilliant guitarist. The concert , as all of his were that I saw , blew my mind !!!! Everyone had the BEST time...what a man !! What a guitarist !!!!! Great song ..as all of his songs were. Have not heard any that I don't like/love.

Having a little trouble with 'why' anyone would put a 'thumbs down' on this song, but oh well, I guess some people just have never heard some of best guitar playing they'll ever hear and can't recognize it when they've heard it...

There are people in this world that try using Preparation H orally. I understand it's a strange analogy,but, to me, no stranger than how any human being WITH EARS didn't enjoy and appreciate Rory!!!

He was in two worlds. Professional musician and misunderstood person who got hurt in loves first bloom.

Saw him in around 1972/73 at Long Beach,Ca with Fleetwood Mac did not realize at the time how great he really was-is I like the beat of Tattoo'd Lady but all his songs are classics and he is right up there with the likes of Clapton,Hendricks amongst legends....He is at the Top!!!!

The intro uses the same chord progression as 'Tuesday's Gone' by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Both have that slow blues feel to it, both make the world pause and make you think about life.

Rory walked onto the stage and everyone smiled, danced, cheered and had a happy couple of hours. His enthusiasm was infectious and his talent undeniable. Sadly missed, just honoured to have been there to see him on many occasions and to have chatted to him once.

I saw Rory back in the early 90's, in St. Louis, on that rotating stage. Great show. Lots of fun. I even remember when he played this song. I guess he died not long after that. I was about 21 at the time. Great memory.

U-Man plays close to a dozen songs by Rory during KSHE Klassics, but NONE of those classics include ANY songs by his original blues rock band, Taste.

Actually he said "there is a guy in Greece you should Ask...Manolis Hiotis..." and he was a buzuki player mainly.. (and a guitarist too)

I could not agree more with you Edwin..Cory so Much better then Hendricks never cared for him or his Style,

With all due respect to Hendrix and Chiotis , Gallagher is as genuine talent as you can ever get.

Please keep Hendrix out of it,I'm sure Rory thought Hendrix was fabulous.

Rory was a real player, he got all the recognition he ever needed. He was one of the very few true front men and I, for one, hope he never gets introduced into the hall of fame. Rory's in our hearts. Greatest bluesrocker ever.

I don't think I've ever heard a blues guitar, cryin like Rorys' does in the intro to this song it's... well ... frankly it's beautiful. I also wanted to mention that his band members' never got a whole lot of credit for their talent, even tho Rory would always introduce them, to back up anyone as good as Rory you know those guys were talented also. the hammond sounds great is this tune.
