Ronstadt, Linda - It Doesn't Matter Anymore Lyrics

There you go and baby here am I
Well you left me here so I could sit and cry
Golly gee what have you done to me
Well I guess it doesn't matter anymore

Do you remember baby last September
How you held me tight each and every night
Oh baby how you drove me crazy
But I guess it doesn't matter anymore

There's no use in me a-crying
I've done everything now I'm sick of trying
I've thrown away my nights
Wasted all my days over you

Now you go your way baby and I'll go mine
Now and forever till the end of time
I'll find somebody new and baby
We'll say we're through
And you won't matter anymore

There's no use in me a-crying
I've done everything now I'm sick of trying
I've thrown away my nights
Wasted all my days over you

Now you go your way baby and I'll go mine
Now and forever till the end of time
And I'll find somebody new and baby
We'll say we're through
And you won't matter anymore
No you won't matter anymore
You won't matter anymore

You can be sure that Paul Anka had no problems with Linda recording this. Buddy's version was hard to beat until this one came along.

That shows how far removed from her I am. I didn't even realize she played guitar too. But I saw her on Tavis Smiley not long ago. (After her diagnosis and all) What a class act she was. I only hope I can be as great as her someday even in good health. What a lady !

  24. M.... ....

She rip Guyana apart with her voice, its unforgettable. So sad to see what alzheimers can do with a beautiful voice. I am now leaning to play the guitar. All respect due Linder, let 2020 be a come back year.

  25. J.... C....

This was a great song that Buddy holly wrote and she has done his songs like this one, It’s so easy Buddy Holy was a great song writer

  26. D.... H....

I saw her in concert three times, and I never felt she needed the amps - her voice alone had incredible power.

  27. G.... M....

What a amazing artist, I grew up with your music OUT OF THIS WORLD! I hope they find a cure so u can sing again for the world. God Bless!

Who could give this thumbs Down?

  39. c.... l....

    Holy cats, that was beautiful.

  40. A.... ....

    You will always matter Linda!👍

  41. A.... E....

70's and 80's... She WAS the music scene... ❤️🎶🎼😍

  42. F.... S....

Unreal how beautiful she is and sings like an angel , still stuns me.

    F.... S....

    And Delores o riordan

  43. s.... ....

One of the most pure voices in the history of the universe. Just incredible.

  44. T.... F....

I saw Linda open for Neil Young at the Long Beach auditorium early in her career. She was magical and had the greatest voice I have ever Heard. Neil Young does not get stood up but
he did that night. It is one of the greatest music injustices that she had to wait so long to get into the hall of fame

  45. K.... H....

Linda... not sung from the heart but from the soul. Bless you!

  46. P.... F....

Omg. I had the album with that song. Had completely forgotten it. This is stunning......

  47. m.... f....

the purity of her voice makes the soul ache...

  48. B.... L....

    CRYSTAL clear persuasion.

  49. S.... C....

    What a wonderful artist

  50. K.... T....

So amazing, have all your albums. I remember Panty girldles! :) I grew up with you.

  51. N.... H....

My sister bought me "Simple Dreams" back in late '77. My mom really loved that album... and stole it from me! That's okay, Mom;) RIP, and you had good taste! Nobody could touch Linda's voice for rock, country and opera (she had a great soul voice, too, but I must reserve that space for Aretha). Linda and Aretha were probably the best female singers of all time.

  52. G.... F....

Love to see her playing the guitar...and her primo voice..I'm very impressed

  53. L.... G....

I love her and hate that I was born too late to see her ❤🎤 #lindaronstadt

  54. W.... A....

Such a beautiful song and every word coming out of Linda's mouth is so sweet sounding. I did not know how good she really sang and I believe she did not get the credit in her early years of singing she deserved. She sings with her heart and soul no matter what type or style song she does. Such a great and wonderful girl with such a beautiful voice. I love this song more than I did many years back.

  55. P.... F....

    Pure talent...thanks Linda.

  56. B.... R....

    When music was real.

  57. J.... B....

Paul Anka wrote this and it became a posthumous #1 for Buddy Holly.

  58. J.... B....

Positively without question the greatest solo female vocalist not named Patsy Cline who ever lived. Linda is a National Treasure and though her incredible voice has been stilled by her debilitating illness her music will be with us forever. We love you Linda.

  59. T.... S....

Can she ever sing like an angel.....

  60. H.... S....

I remember being at this Concert, she was great, as usual.

    H.... S....

    I was there too! 🙂

  61. j.... ....

Just beautiful in it's ease, simplicity, and naturalness. Is it just me, or can people actually not sing like this anymore? Is it a lost art? If you can comp and auto-tune a perfect vocal in the studio, and then play that track in live shows, is there any incentive to even develop this kind of talent? Sincere question; I know there is Raitt, Harris, Tedeschi, Crow and others out there, but what about the younger crowd? Has digital technology replaced a unique and special skill-set...? And I guess to answer my question, and restore some hope, there is of course - Larkin Poe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mEN9n-JEdg

  62. D.... M....

A Super Musical Talent, this is said by this Aussie!

  63. S.... ....

Her gift for music goes beyond her voice, she wrote the guitar arrangement for this version- so good

  64. h.... ....

Panty girdles? I do love her voice.

    h.... ....

howlinwolf73 yes, an interesting digression caused by the bracelet, snafu. 😂.

Huh. I don't think I've ever seen her play guitar before. Nice. :)

  70. j.... m....

    😊❤️😊💚😊💜😊

  71. M.... A....

She could sing from reading out of the yellow pages and make it a hit... just an incredible voice.

  72. K.... S....

    🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

  73. p.... w....

Of course we all love her singing . BUT.... can we all take a moment to acknowledge her guitar playing in this performance? This shit was LIVE no mistakes could be covered up in the time of filming this. Dear (love of my life) Linda, well done mate, well done. ;)

    p.... w....

    Just Brilliant fingerpicking...

  74. G.... R....

    Sigh.....

  75. G.... C....

    Written by Paul Anka.

  76. G.... C....

A Buddy Holly song. It was released right after Buddy died in the plane crash in Feb 1959. It hit number 1. First time a song hit number 1 after someone’s death. It happened again when Otis died and they released Dock of the Bay.

    G.... C....

Paul Anka wrote it for Buddy Holly.

  77. P.... R....

Linda is the greatest female vocalist ever bar none.

  78. D.... D....

Can we maybe turn back the Waverly machine and go back to 1977? I'm not sure I would turn out better in the present, but I'd be willing to take a try.

    D.... D....

    I agree . This is magic. #lindaronstadt

  79. T.... M....

The jukebox in my hometown had "Someone to Lay Down Beside Me", but didn't have
enough room on the title - It just said "Someone to Lay".

  80. D.... G....

    Just beautiful! ❤️

  81. M.... H....

Timeless Linda...that voice was so beautiful.

  82. D.... B....

Just a Beautiful Rendition of the Classic Buddy Holly Song, Written by Paul Anka.

  83. G.... W....

She takes you to that place where a woman loves a man and he turns out to be a prick. She is beautiful and she loves him. He is a total asshole and has no idea that his immaturity and insensitivity pushes her away. She still loves the guy after being humiliated and used. She knows he is a dry well. God women go through hell loving the wrong man.

  84. s.... s....

She belongs to all of us and I couldn't love her more.

    s.... s....

    Ditto that, my sentiments exactly

  85. J.... L....

Can stop thinking about panty girdles now 🤔

  86. J.... L....

Greatest female singer of all time ❤️🔥🕊🤗😎

  87. t.... ....

As I reach the end of my life I can only hope that heaven is as wonderful as the fabulous Linda, truly an angel.

  88. W.... A....

This song brings out the real talent and beauty she has. Such a sad song but peaceful to listen to and nothing else matters anymore.

  89. N.... G....

    Beautiful Voice

    N.... G....

  90. W.... H....

IT WOULD BE A HORRIBLE WORLD WITHOUT LINDA'S CONTRIBUTION TO AMERICANA . I DO INCLUDE EMMYLOU ALSO . SOMEHOW THEY MADE THE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE EVEN MORE VALUABLE . SCUSE ME FOR HOLLERING .

  91. C.... R....

Panty girdle, Linda Rondstat? OK, I'm done. 😴

  92. R.... M....

And I failed to mention what GREAT honor to the great Buddy Holly!

  93. R.... M....

Back in the days when those with true talent could sit alone in dim lit light and be SPECTACULAR!!! Not much talent today that can pull that off.

    R.... M....

Roxane Mathis I wish they’d let them try more often though.

  94. J.... K....

    A sweet sweet voice

  95. L.... G....

Thank you for so many years of singing with heavenly voice. Your spirit still lives on. Gracias por todo los años te cantas.

  96. K.... ....

When I was a lot younger in the 1970s, I think Linda sang the phone book, and it went Platinum. Thank you beautiful lady.

  97. c.... ....

It's so sad that she cannot sing anymore, she was a great vocalist !
