Ronson, Mark - Crack In The Pearl, Pt. II Lyrics

Cause there's always a flaw in the diamond
A lightning-fork crack in the pearl
A fault in the rock of the island
And it's usually shaped like a girl

I was the first one to see her
And you were the first one to fall
Like a half-drunken downhill skier
And she was the oncoming wall
Now I get that it's all gone awry
A joke I might like to take back
Wipe a bright star from the night sky
Nothing can fill in the black

Why is it so hard to keep the beat to this song? When the song changes at 0:57 I can't snap to the beat anymore without getting off beat. Why is that? This has always drove me crazy because if I try to dance to it I can't dance to it either. It feels like I skip beats when I know I didn't.

Leave us lost in the rust and the rubble
Nine exits north of Las Vegas, Vegas
Nine exits north of Las Vegas, Vegas
Nine exits north of Las Vegas

I was the first one to see her
And you were the first one to fall
    Like a half-drunken downhill skier
And she was the oncoming wall
Now I get that it's all gone awry

Wipe a bright star from the night sky
Nothing can fill in the black

Coulda just called the album Vegas Special. And seeing the credits, does Kevin Parker play the drums on this song? If not every song on that album? Since the drums starting at 0:57 have that classic Tame Impala rhythm.

    e.... ....

He did play drums on this track. But some of it is programmed. It’s not specified which part. But awesome to think Kevin technically worked on a track with the legend Stevie Wonder
