Ronnie Milsap - Crying Lyrics

I was alright for awhile
I could smile for awhile
But then I saw you last night
You held my hand so tight
When you stopped to say hello
Though you wished me well
You couldn't tell
That I've been crying over you
Crying over you
Since you said so long
And left me standing all alone
Alone and crying
Crying crying crying
It's hard to understand
But the touch of your hand
Can start me crying (crying)

I thought that I was over you
But it's true so true
I love you even more than I did before
Darlin' what can I do
Cause you don't love me
And I'll always be
Crying over you
Crying over you
Yes now you've gone
And from this moment on
I'll be crying
Crying crying crying
Crying over you

Ronnie Milsap Crying Comments
  1. M.... H....

THIS IS AN OLD ONE..NEVER HEARD HIS VERSION AND IT IS A LITTLE DISTORTED BUT HEY,IT IS 43 YEARS OLD ..I DO BELIEVE IT  IS RONNIE..

    M.... H....

You are correct it is Mr. Ronnie singing and I will try to upload a better version :)

  2. I.... S....

I'm sure this is Ronnie. The person who posted it has every song he ever sung and is nice enough to share them. I know his voice and I love this recording. It is an old one, so maybe it is distorted, but definitely Mr. Ronnie........

  3. S.... ....

There's still no use in "Crying" over a cup of spilled milk. WE STILL HAVE 6 WHOLE GALLONS!!!

    S.... ....

very well put....and besides ...life just keeps on going, and going, and going, you get the picture!!!! lol

  4. S.... ....

@CharlieAndRonnie "It Was Almost Like a Song," "Smoky Mountain Rain," "(I'd Be) A Legend In My Time," "Pure Love," "Daydreams About Night Things," "Back On My Mind Again," "What a Difference You've Made In My Life," "(I'm a) Stand By My Woman Man," "Please Don't Tell Me How the Story Ends" (hit version), and "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me." I had not yet heard his R&B material, so I initially thought it was a black singer or someone else singing! Now I know better, and have many CDs by him!

  5. S.... ....

@CharlieAndRonnie Cont. Another time, I'll get a couple of others to listen to the other "Ronnie Milsap "Crying"" video, which is posted by milsapmania2012 followed by this to find out if they can tell a vocal difference. Like I said, the quality was probably just poor, so you couldn't tell. That, and/or you haven't heard the pre-Nashville era of his career. I know the 1st time I heard the TGMH LP, I couldn't tell it was him 'til I saw the cover (I was used to the list of songs on next comment).

  6. S.... ....

@CharlieAndRonnie cruick1113, I've listened to the video, and the only problem I hear (not that its her fault; in fact, I place no blame on her) is in the video itself. There's something about it that makes it sound different that I don't think I can describe well, but I believe it has something to do w/ the quality. It sounds like the tape was going bad or the camera or whatever was recording this was going dead or something (bad audio!). We all go through that. It still sounded like him to me.

  7. S.... ....

@CharlieAndRonnie P.P.S. I apologize in advance if I came across as impolite or anything; I always try to avoid that. Once again, I'll get back to you.

  8. S.... ....

@CharlieAndRonnie Ct. This & 5 others at least were recorded at American Recording Studios in Memphis. I'll listen to the video when I'm not as tired & get back to you, but I'm still swayed in favor of this. BTW, thanks for being polite enough to go 3 whole comments to me w/o profanity, when most would cuss in only 1/2 of 1. I respect you for that, and do feel that you simply misunderstand. P.S. Is "Never Had It So Good" also by an impersonator? (After you answer that question, it was from '65.)

  9. S.... ....

@cruick1113 I'll try to talk as politely as possible about this, as I'm currently tired and have got to go to sleep in less than an hour. I've read the 1st the whole time, knew you said it wasn't him and that the all caps was from dbelleburr; I was speaking directly to you. I'll ask you to buy the rainbow-colored self-titled debut reissue & "A Rose By Any Other Name" in case you haven't. The debut was produced by Dan Penn, who also produced this, and this was before he became a household name.

  10. J.... M....

Ok, first of all, dont act like you actually know you what your talking about. This IS Ronnie because I saw her transfer the song from the cd MYSELF! If there is anyone who knows anything about Ronnie its her dude. I know about Ronnie that you and thats a promise. So have some repsect for other people and use that thing called your brain, if you have one, before you assume you know what your talking about!!!

  11. S.... ....

@CharlieAndRonnie Cont. "Get a Life!!!" She DOES have 1: she cooks, as she recently told another, she's currently posted 191 vids (w/ very few copies), and she's had a hard life too! I'm not asking for you to feel sorry for her; she doesn't need it, I don't think she's looking for it, and I'm sure lots of people are the same. I'm just asking you to please quit being so harsh. Also, it's not polite to tell anyone to "get a life." P.S. I've been respectful to you; I'll ask for you to do the same.

  12. S.... ....

@cruick1113 "This is NOT Ronnie Milsap!!!!...Don't try to make this the legendary Ronnie Milsap singing." How can 1 try to make it someone singing if it IS so? I have the reissues of his self-titled debut & "A Rose By Any Other Name," and I tell you it is. (What era of his career have you listened to?) "Someone is impersonating him on this!!" I've yet to hear of anyone impersonating him, but I'll probably know just by listening when it happens.

  13. G.... E....

Raul Malo also does an amazing cover of this song.

  14. G.... E....

    Great version of this song.
