Romantics, The - Open Up Your Door Lyrics

Left you at eight
You came back at nine
'Cause you got love
It sure is fine

I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
C'mon now and open up your door

An hour can be
Such a long long time
When you're in heat
[?]

I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
C'mon now and open up your door

I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I (I), I (I), I (I), I wanna love you some more

I'm all on fire
My love inside
Got a big desire
And I ain't lyin'

I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
C'mon now and open up your door

I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I said uh I (I)
I (I), I (I), I (I), I wanna love you some more

I wanna love you some more
I wanna love you some more
I, I wanna love you some more
I, I wanna love you some more
I, I wanna love you some more

I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more
I said uh I, I wanna love you some more

Open Up Your Door From The Lp "In Heat" and it was released in 1983 via Epic Records. Make sure you download this track on Amazon, Spotify or iTunes.

Love the Young Lions original, but this one tops it. Fantastic singing by Wally or Jimmy.

It's Jimmy. Here they are on American Bandstand lip-synching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPa-m3sBCwM

This album STILL sounds awesome today. So glad they had the sense to not drench the tunes in echo and reverb like so many other artists of this period. Just pure guitars, drums, vocals...

Still one of the finest rock songs I ever helped write.
    excellent cover of the hit
I produced for RICHARD AND THE YOUNG LIONS

    L.... B....

I thought Bob Crewe produced it?

    L.... B....

SwingingCreeper Larry likes to take credit for everything. Crewe was the producer, Brown and Bloodworth wrote it. Larry knew of a deal between Crewe an Oldham to keep us buried. Funny he won't take credit for that.

    L.... B....

The drummer? So that explains what happened to You Can Make It.

@Norm C. I love the Richard & The Young Lions version, and it is definitely superior to the Romanticcs version. As for producing, at least according to the labels on my 45 rpm, Brown and Bloodworth did produce it, for Bob Crewe Productions. As for not promoting you... blame the record label. Philips records dropped the ball on a TON of artists back then, because they were too busy promoting the Four Seasons, Dusty Springfield and Bobby Hebb. Great records by Brian Hyland, Bobby St Clair, Ian And The Zodiacs, The Cowsills, Victor And The Spoils, The Serendipity Singers, Joey Paige, The Flamingos and the Jordan Brothers all got pushed to the side because there wasn't enough of a promotional push for all of them. That's hardly the writer or producer's fault and more the fault of the record label and the label reps who went out to push these songs to radio. To deliberately try to bury this record would be stupid. If it became a hit, the writers and producers would've made probably more money than the band would have.

  16. m.... ....

The Romantics were from Detroit and the original by Richard and The Young Lions hit number one there back in 1966. I guess this tune was their way of paying homage to the original.

    m.... ....

not a number 1 for the young lions=soory

    m.... ....

Number 1 in Cleveland, Detroit, Salt Lake City. #2 in Seattle and Vancouver. Not a national hit but a regional one.
