Rolling Stones, The - Little Red Rooster Lyrics

I am the little red rooster
Too lazy to crow for day
I am the little red rooster
Too lazy to crow for day
Keep everything in the farm yard upset in every way
The dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl
Dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl
Watch out strange cat people
Little red rooster's on the prowl
If you see my little red rooster
Please drive him home
If you see my little red rooster
Please drive him home
Ain't had no peace in the farm yard
Since my little red rooster's been gone

  4. WolfMan

One of the best - if not the best - cover version

  5. José Aquino

Brian recorded his slide part on his own because the band was already heading out of the studio when he came in. And he was really glad that a pure blues song was able to hit the main charts (only time it would happen). But, it was just an illusion since the Stones started moving away from blues, rock and rhythm n blues covers to make commercial rock n pop songs of their own (by Jagger and Richards). He would have had a say on the songs they started to release only if he was able to songwrite at all (he couldn't, unfortunately).

  6. Hans Bronkhorst

  11. Joseph Murphy

i just watched the documentary sympathy for the devil 1968......i gotta say i didn't sense any tension between Brian and mick or Brian and Keith, it seemed pretty amicable to me....Keith gave Brian a ciggie an they chatted for a while......Brian seemed pretty much musically together as well, considering he would be dead less than a year later.....it all seemed pretty friendly to me......whether its because cameras were filming, i don't know!!..i didn't sense no hostile undercurrents either....if their wos....they should have become actors rather than musicians!!!lol

    José Aquino

Brian was very deep into drugs so he was missing a lot of the sessions for a year and a half at least back then, so the animosity was there still. But, when he was on, he was really on and it helped the band a lot so I don't think Mick or Keith would have wanted him out just because they didn't like his face. It's just that the main songwriters and the core of the group were Mick and Keith and Brian was just a luxury session player that missed too many recording sessions or was just too drugged out to care to come to those sessions clean most of the time and it didn't help the band not knowing if they could rely on their former leader or not.

    Oyeah.Happy freedom...

  18. Joseph Murphy

when i hear Brian Jones in interviews he comes across as articulate, educated, highly intelligent, softly spoken with tons of charisma....more than the rest of the band put together!...maybe he had his dark side, so wot!.haven't we all......Jagger wos quite a good talker, Richards less so.....as for charlie and bill....as much as i admire there contribution to the sound they made....seemed a bit dull and drippy to me.....but the chemistry they had as a band worked well, that's wot mattered.....none come close to the charisma Brian Jones had.god bless him....and i would rather this character Jones had a dark side then these "squeaky clean" stars i see today!!!!.......and always remember the dead cannot defend themselves!!

We lived in Amsterdam West in a small bedroom i had to share with my older brother. One click clack recordplayer. One of the first EP’s we had was this one

  34. Chris Hutchinson

I first heard this aged seven-on a pye achoic box(probably the finest record player ever made)-my father was the manager of the electrical store in Wakefield at the time. No matter how I begged he would not let me have it. If I could wind back time- I would have broken into the shop and taken the record and the deck! CH

    Looks Inferior
