Rolling Stones, The - In Another Land Lyrics

In another land where the breeze and the
Trees and flowers were blue
I stood and held your hand.
And the grass grew high and the feathers floated by
I stood and held your hand.
And nobody else's hand will ever do
Nobody else will do
Then I awoke
Was this some kind of joke?
Much to my surprise
I opened my eyes.
We walked across the sand and the sea and
The sky and the castles were blue.
I stood and held your hand.
And the spray flew high and the feathers floated by
I stood and held your hand.
And nobody else's hand will ever do
Nobody else will do
Then I awoke
Was this some kind of joke?
Much to my surprise
When I opened my eyes.
We heard the trumpets blow and the sky
Turned red when I accidently said
That I didn't know how I came to be here
Not fast asleep in bed.
I stood and held your hand.
And nobody else's hand will ever do
Nobody else's hand
Then I awoke
Was this some kind of joke?
I opened my eyes.
Much to my surprise.

  4. E.... ....

By Billy Wyman vox; suggestive the sound of the harpsichord at the hands of Brian Jones

  5. N.... N....

    More early Floyd-like than Beatles.

  6. b.... l....

This sucks. Rolling Stones are way overrated

  7. A.... Z....

    Did Bill sing this song?

  8. J.... C....

A psychedelic gem written by talented Bill Wyman.
Best song of 'Satanic Majesties' along with "She's a Rainbow" and "2000 Light Years From Home".

  9. J.... C....

    - Lead Vocals, Bass, Piano & Organ: Bill Wyman
    - Acoustic Guitar: Keith Richards
    - Mellotron & Sound Effects: Brian Jones
    - Drums: Charlie Watts
    - Harpsichord: Nicky Hopkins
    - Backing Vocals: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Steve Marriott & Ronnie Lane

  10. T.... F....

    William Perks.

  11. M.... T....

I think this album is great, with a strange continuity to it that "Sgt. Pepper's could only dream of. The eight straight album set "Aftermath", "Between The Buttons", "Flowers", "Satanic Majesties Request", "Beggar's Banquet", "Let It Bleed", "Sticky Fingers", and "Exile On Main Street", are without parallel, and will never be equalled.

  12. B.... B....

I hate anyone who's thinks the album is a Sgt. Pepper rip-off!

  13. C.... D....

    REALLY GOOD VIBRATIONS!!

  14. s.... s....

Great Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane here!...

  15. T.... F....

    The Rolling Beatles?

  16. L.... T....

brillant song! I love her!. Great Bill Wyman (sid barret ispirated)

  17. M.... I....

Their Satanic Majesties Request is my favorite Stones album and one of my favorite albums of all times - there's just nothing else quite like it. My deepest sympathy for all those who loved it.

  18. R.... O....

    Youtube
    Toyota

  19. J.... N....

    The Beatles...

  20. M.... H....

It's true that traces of mushroom can be found in LSD.

    M.... H....

Umm nope lsd25 is synthesised from the ergot fungus found on lots of grasses such as barley and wheat. Psilocybin mushrooms are similar in effect though, but nice try.

  21. H.... T....

99% of lyrics (like Beatles) just to fill music not idiotic but closer to empty words.

    H.... T....

    Beatles not having meaningful lyrics?
Is this some kind of joke!?

  22. M.... P....

You probably could've squeezed some more ads in it. Why not mid song? It would be a shame to expose the continuity of this artwork to younger people. It's way better to make sure some more pennies were squeezed out of this starving empire. True pieces of shite lol!!

  23. H.... L....

for many years I listened to that magic song perfectly stoned only. now I'm somewhat sober. still love it!

  24. O.... G....

Another rock mystery courtesy of The Stones. Like the guitar solo in "Sympathy For The Devil" who's snoring at the end of the song? Cheers!

    O.... G....

    Bill Wyman is.

  25. R.... S....

I understand that the lyrics of this Song is a description of a dream because in its end he snores. Obviously.

  26. A.... D....

Il paraît que tout à été bien fait

  27. S.... L....

suddenly this song reminds me of pissing off my dad such a long long time ago while smoking a joint in the basement of the house we all merrily lived in.....was it '69 or some such yer???? Can't remember exactly........A great song......A great joint.

  28. P.... H....

And the song is very very good this whole album is excellent

  29. m.... j....

    VEVO, Thanks!!Great music.

  30. G.... U....

    Mono version is better

  31. O.... ....

Bill wyman in another land at the end

  32. C.... M....

Feel asleep listening to this album for the first time and that snoring confused me so bad thinking it was me

  33. C.... M....

    Jacked up by Weezer

  34. x.... ....

Now we know why this is the only lead vocal Bill ever did with the Stones. The tune is unmemorable, and the lyrics mediocre.

  35. M.... C....

Another land is like the within you without you from sgt peppers but for satanic majesties

  36. L.... K....

Snoring of Bill Wyman , LOL!

  37. P.... N....

    Great Bill!!

  38. T.... W....

Absolutely brillant. Great chords progression. Bill Wyman's masterpiece.

  39. f.... ....

Think this the only time BW sang lead on a Stones song (attributed to them on Satanic but produced in a lull period when Jagger and Richards were off tripping)

  40. S.... ....

  41. R.... g....

    this SUCKS!!!!!!

  42. M.... L....

this entire album is a cross between sgt. pepper and piper at the gates of dawn

    M.... L....

    Yes, you are right

  43. B.... V....

I like this song but it’s not easy to listen to with headphones

  44. c.... p....

the Marriott backing vocals are superb!

  45. s.... e....

Latter 60's "psychedelic" music at its best.

  46. T.... K....

This must be around the time they decided to copy syd barrett and the byrds , instead of the Beatles haha .

  47. W.... W....

This is Bill Wyman's one composition!!!!!!! The great Bill Wyman.

  48. s.... ....

This could be a Syd Barrett's song. One of the best song of this album! Congratulations Bill!

  49. T.... F....

this album hardly sounds anything like pepper

  50. A.... B....

Essentially, this is a psychedelic love/sad song born of the Blues AND Renaissance tunes AND snoring.

    Fucking beautiful.

  51. b.... p....

One great thing about this song is they can’t fuck up the tuning on a harpsichord.

  52. S.... I....

Brian+wyman, then the rest of the band in this track

  53. V.... ....

Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane from The Small Faces on backing vocals here

  54. D.... R....

Love the snoring ! haahaa !

  55. N.... T....

    Syd Barrett inspired..??

  56. O.... M....

Seriously, ABKOVEVO should know better. Written by Bill Wyman!

  57. L.... C....

    I'M FLOATING

  58. A.... V....

Bill Wyman : Bass and Vocals
    Charlie Watts : Drums
    Brian Jones : Organ
Nicky Hopkins : Harpiscord and Piano
    Steve Marriott : Guitar

    A.... V....

Steve Marriott*, if I remember it correctly his Small Faces-bandmate Ronnie Lane sang backing vocals.

    A.... V....

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards: Snoring

    A.... V....

JStarStar00 mick jagger: back round vocals

  59. P.... I....

This is a song of Bill Wyman not Jagguer and Richards.

  60. J.... S....

This song is composed and sung by BILL WYMAN!

  61. h.... ....

between beggars banquet and satanic majesties i could never pick the better album , sooo many of my all time favourite tracks , citadel ,2000 light years ...all the way to stray cat blues , sympathy for the devil and just every track on 'beggars' wherever i go and whatever i do ,i come back to those 2 lps

  62. S.... I....

Bill Didn't know either , what a dream it must have been

  63. D.... B....

hope mr kline isn't making any money out of me watching this! i've got ad-block, and Bill Wyman wrote this song. you took all the money, get your facts right!!

  64. F.... M....

Amazing. Perfect harpsichord, perfect song, the master Brian Jones on mellotron, legendary!

  65. A.... B....

A few beers, a few joints, the love of your life and this song! BLISS. Sheer Bliss

  66. e.... o....

    they are ROLLING STONES! respect.

  67. G.... M....

I hate to tell you pal, but this song was written and sung by Bill Wyman. And that's a fact.

  68. h.... ....

    Beautiful job on the video!

  69. B.... ....

I love that intro. There has been a lot of misinformation about this track. It's Bill Wyman's song and his vocal. I remember when it was released in the USA as a single.

  70. Y.... D....

    Stones? This is terrible!

    Y.... D....

    Terrible? This is Stones!

  71. C.... R....

Ive made up my mind that this album is vastly superior to Sgt peppers. Anyone agree?

    C.... R....

They are equal, though as a Beatles let me say Sgt. Peppers is more overrated than it should be... compared to other albums by them.

  72. t.... H....

Long time stones fan 1st time hearing this gem.

  73. J.... S....

The only thing good about this song is Mick's backing vocal. Now we know why Mick and keith kept Bill doing what he did best. Play bass, standing still with a Stone face in the corner. He did that well. je suis un Rock Star? blah.

  74. T.... ....

Tame Impala - Solitude is Bliss. I knew I heard it somewhere

  75. s.... c....

"In another land" is like something I could imagine Syd Barrett recording.

    s.... c....

This doesn't compare to any Syd song.

    s.... c....

@Syfoll lol ur joking right this don't even really sound like a Stones song..I was wondering who was singing this song..Bill wrote it so yeah..gotta luv the snoring 😂😂

    s.... c....

@Ronaldo Lacradria You start saying one thing and end saying another thing. I don't understand what you are trying to say

  76. X.... Y....

Great underrated albumn, had more depth and not a single bubblegum tune like Sgt Peppers had, tho both are masterpieces.

    X.... Y....

Would never use the words "Bubble gum" when referring to Sgt. Peppers. IMHO

    X.... Y....

@sal economos most definitely not BUBBLE GUM LOL
    TRy the Archies 😂😂

  77. i.... a....

Good song, but ultimately psychedelia didn't suit the Stones at all!

  78. D.... M....

Only Bill Wyman solo vocal on a Stones LP. Snoring by Bill secretly recorded by Mick & Brian and added to the song without Bill's knowledge at the time.

  79. G.... S....

    Bill Wyman goes psychedelic!

  80. D.... E....

    BILL WYMAN

  81. J.... B....

this album is how to do a Sgt. Pepper's imitation correctly.

    J.... B....

in true, satanic and pepper`s are very different, the only same things are be psychodelic and the album board

    J.... B....

John Burns this specific song is more of a Piper’s at the Gates of Dawn imitation.

    J.... B....

Pedro, just no. But donwplaying and dismissing this as a Pepper rip off is so lazy. There's some outstanding, real Stones numbers

    J.... B....

    Inspiration, not imitation.

    J.... B....

No, this is how to blow an overrated album out of the water.

  82. K.... Y....

I don't know, but this great song is Bills. And it pay the bills!

  83. I.... D....

Composer: Bill Wyman not the other two ABKCOVEVO!

  84. K.... M....

    STONES RULED SINCE 65

    K.... M....

Kenneth Manzi since 1963 in My opinion

    K.... M....

    You're both wrong. 1964

    K.... M....

    Formed in 1962 and beyond.

  85. B.... M....

Back in college, always thought this album was about traveling musicians in the 1500’s who discovered mushrooms long long before anyone else. Crazy in the 70’s. Thought the line was “I accidentally sped”.

  86. S.... W....

Did you folks know that the snoring is Keith Richards?

  87. E.... ....

    Performed by Bill Wyman.

  88. P.... A....

Love that song: reminds me of those stoned out days when I was eighteen, in northern foggy Europe. A time so different from today's misery.

    P.... A....

Pierre Adler I can relate - those long ago days were so great and yes life on Earth is misery now. How did we get to this point.

    P.... A....

People obeyed, in England Thatcher, here Reagan. The rest is history.

    P.... A....

Just hold on to those treasures we call memories. They’ll get you through the miseries of today.

    P.... A....

My treasured memories are no longer strong enough to compete with planet Earth 2018. They just make me sadder.

    P.... A....

Jeff Strichart Today is grim, but what awaits tomorrow? Never lose hope my friend and to all of us who long for a better time, god help us, we may one day see it.

  89. k.... ....

Nobody in the studio for days and days only Charlie and Bill. Bill wyman had this song. Steve Mariott help him on guitar with Nicky Hopkins on piano. This was the basic track.

  90. Q.... ....

guys, is written by Bill Wyman...

  91. j.... w....

    NOBODY ELSES WILL DO

  92. F.... C....

This son was written by Bill Wyman. You should state that somewhere.
