Rolling Stones, The - I'm Going Down Lyrics
Hey babe, what more can you tell
The good lord ring your front door bell
Though our love go down, don't cry
Though I saw a man, yes I fell in the ground
Here we go down now, here we go down
I know you fine , I know you're right, I know I
'Cos you're going down
Oh you're going down
Oh babe, what's your fairy tale
The good lord's gonna ring your front door bell...
Ah...Shake your face, lose your place
Shoot your mother in law, yeah
I think I saw her goin' down to
Paraiso Mexico
There's just nothing but the powers that be
I know, oh my, I know you're right, I know
You're going down
You're going down
You're going down, huh huh, yes sir
Yes sir you're going down
All right it's war
Fight your love
Shoot your mother in law
You got a center floor
Lay your hips to the left
Keep you problems at your arm's length
Spit on the ground, never look around
Keep on movin'on up, to be pushed around,
Yeah everybody slow down.

Rolling Stones, The I'm Going Down Comments
Did the Stones ever play this song live? I can't find any instance of it.
This is everything that makes the Stones great: Dirty,Bluesy,Evil sounding Rock n Roll...so heavy,so good and not even promoted,my God! Sway is another one thats a gem...The Stones are the epitome of the word Destiny..look it up! Lol....there the greatest.Period
feelin down so I watched then I slowed down @1:20 I like how clear Sir Mike's eye coloration is in this pic, very rare eyes and the mood of this song explicitly Stones happy holidays <3
No wonder Mick Taylor left those two c-nts for hogging ALL the writing credits on this awesome ditty and some of their other hits while he was in the band. THAT master riff clearly has Mick Taylor all over it. BTW before you all get your panties in a bunch for calling them c-nts, J&R are my favvy song writing team and the RS are the best damned Rock & Roll band the World will ever know. Also, I opened for/played with Mick Taylor in L.A. and my last album was produced by Andy Johns (who was also a great friend of mine) so I know a thing or two... Anyway, if you're a Stones fan, you're a friend of mine. Love ya LIVE y'all!
Who is playing the bongos ?
Long time favourite! Amazing what they leave behind... I mean , check out 'Drift Away', too.. It's a stellar version and, in that case, finished and completely ready for release... but no... :D
The most underrated Stones song by far.
The Stones most under-rated song by far.
THE KINGS OF ROCK FOREVER.
awesome tune ..this why I love you tube
Bobby Keys, saxophonist. . 💘
Lovin' this one
I like it...
Bobby Keys!!!!!
great deep cut!
Bad ass song. The Stones' sounded so much better when Mick Taylor was in the Band. They were The Greatest Rock n Roll Band with him in the line-up. cheers TyT
If rock'n'roll had to be defined, this song would be the definition.
Lysandros ur right
Another Underrated Stones song¡¡¡¡, Big thumbs up from Spain: javier
+RollingBilbao Yes a Cool guitar track on this. Thanks so much for your comment. Happy Weekend to you Javier!
Hi Javier, This one can be played in open G. pretty fun if you haven't tried it, you might give it a go
bobby keys really missed
The perfect soundtrack for a spy movie / action thriller.
@chrisradano Yes it would be. Thanks!
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Milena Rodriguez I hear u
Downtown Susie, I Don't Know Why, Don't Lie To Me & this song were my favorites on the Metamorphus album. I even had the tee shirt!
when i discovered this gem, it truly expanded my stones world.... no radio airplay for this one at time of release... it's one of their best... it got that sympathy for the devil bongos and so much more, cynical while danceable?....a stones
gem ken
Stones always surprise with range of music they can do. Thanks for listening and watching my video Kenneth.
THE STONES wtf why is this not playing on classic rock radio?????
It seems logical that Keef would've played the raunchy open G rhythm that kicks off this song and runs all they way through it. But why is Stephen Stills credited as having played guitar on this track, also? Wiki lists Stills' contribution as "Unknown instrument". Hmm..
RIP The GREAT Bobby Keys!!
Much of "Metamorphosis" is nothing special, but this awesome track is definitely an exception! Great basic guitar riff. R.I.P. -- Bobby Keys.....his amazing sax work was featured on many Stones songs.......
Yes RIP Bobby Keys! We will never forget your contribution to Music.
My memory is fading but I think Oldham took a bunch of unfinished tracks that he had the masters of and brought everything to Wallingford, Ct - Trodnossel Studios and the local musicians finished up the album by adding instruments where needed. I believe G.E. Smith (a Ct. boy) - the band leader of SNL, David Bowie band mate, Hall & Oates band, etc was one of the musicians
hey, Taylor?? what are you doing? dony you see that guitar have only 4 string??? where is the your saver solo?
Bobby Keys played with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends. And so did Eric Clapton (who also played with The Rolling Stones), Duane Allman, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix and many other talents. Eric stole Bobby from Delaney & Bonnie to form Derek & The Dominos, and when that fell apart, The Rolling Stones got him.
Thanks for the history on this song. Was not sure how Stones got Bobby Keys but I love his sax playing. :)
mlbloverock wowwe super nice factual behind the record of the songs by the RS
Clapton was so talented but he shit on every band he played with. The fucking grass was always greener for EC - but once he got it, he no longer had any use for it. Bands & women. Listen to wail for Layla (Patti?). Then once he got her, he grew bored and moved on. He did it with The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith, D & The D's. Finally he found happiness going solo.
The Stones Rule!
Even their unknown songs are better than most artists singles
Yes I agree my friend! Thanks. :))
And many new artists ( artists? ).
Classic Rolling Stone sound.
Love it.
Thanks Bill!
Great video Kat!!!
I got the Stones' Greatest hits, but this isn't on it.I guess they had to many hits compared to everyone else.
It's kinda an obscure one. But a Great one. :)
Fucking insane u just “Forget”this one this is Rock n Roll🤫🤤☹️
Can you imagine a more wicked riff?
#rollingstones #classicrock
Nice slideshow to accompany this Jagger-Richards outtake that appears on "Metamorphosis."
@gymnastix
Thanks!
I'd read about Stephan Stills playing git-tawr on this track..interesting. One assumes that the killer rhythm riff is all Keith, but one just can't take it for granted; For example: Taylor plays that killer rhythm on "Hip Shake", and all along I thought it was Keith!
Yes a Gem of a song. Thanks for watching!
a outtake from sticky fingers. produced 1970. mick taylor on bass(wikipedia)!
FABULOUS!

Nice he was able to put things aside and play live with the Stones recently. Thanks for watching and listening Rose!
Great video Kat!!!
That's strange Mick Taylor was taken off the credits - It means he also lost money too!
Hi very nice and beautiful :-) enjoyed, greetings
Ha ha no I don't play. I know how the pieces move and that is about it. Yes we Still have our Rock and Roll here! Thanks for watching and listening. :)
Hi Kat, I have company in town, rushing my post, first log (you) channel first then my mind thinks as in three dimensional chess. The eight vertically spaced stages, the uppermost and lowermost stage comprising a single square where the game’s consequences, I mean the loss of a piece, the game (game over) or win (as in real life)…do you play chess? Forget it...great video is as chess…one of the very few places on youtube for real "Rock n Roll"...ROCK!! – thank you for the upload…see yaa
Thanks so much! :D
Oh Wow! Gorgeous! Straight to playlist.. :)
