Rolling Stones, The - Dead Flowers Lyrics
Well when you're sitting there in your silk upholstered chair
Talkin' to some rich folk that you know
Well I hope you won't see me in my ragged company
Well, you know I could never be alone
Take me down little Susie, take me down
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
Well when you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac
Making bets on Kentucky Derby Day
Ah, I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon
And another girl to take my pain away
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the queen of the underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail
Say it with dead flowers in my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
No, I won't forget to put roses on your grave

Rolling Stones, The Dead Flowers Comments
Is Mick Jagger talking about himself again? I'm sure that most women feel the same way about him because he is a womanizer, a player, and a bad husband and lover. How dare you criticize celebrity - authority figures?
where's the rest of the band?
One of the best bands ever
not one of the best.THE BEST. trust me on this . i'm 68 and have followed them all of their careers.
Best music of history so blessed to have experience the times

Some local band was playing this song, and I said DAMN! this guys are good! I cant believe they invented that song! My step brother said '' You never heard of The Rolling Stones''. Im like ahhh! I thought there only good song was Sympathy for the devil, hahahahahahha my music taste only goes back to the 80s and up lolz. I felt like such a dork! but they sang and played very well it was a band in Ana Maria Island in Florida.
Send me Dead Flowers was written for a writer for Rolling Stone , Susie who sent dead flowers to Mick for not giving her an interview. Anyone want to add to it, feel free.
Original by Towns Van Zant is better
Made In The Shade is their best work. Right after about a dozen others...
You know you are a Stones fan when you know the words to every song and know the next song on each album before it begins...
Very good song to play
This is an awesome song and I just seen them this summer at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia! They still have it!
I'll piss on her grave. Flowers cost money
Great solo by Mick Taylor
The Greatest Rock Band Ever.
Great stones tune......
one of best C&W songs ever
I wonder how high they got Gram Parsons in order to steal this?
I would like to put this record on at my wedding party
I felt like a hillbilly for a minute!
Check out the version by Townes Van Zandt. Sounds more authentic.
Uma das melhores dos Stones

Here from chiclets, that’s a fat no, RA
I second that.

I don't have a favorite Stones' song but I have a favorite album, Sticky Fingers.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards did not write this song. Townes Van Zandt is the author of this song.
They do have a way about them, don't they? Love this one! Nice post!
I never shot heroin and listened to this but if I did I would.
Hmmm.... its like it was yesterday when i bought this 8 track. I didn't know what it all meant. I understand now. I bought it in 1971 before i went to Vietnam. Now im an old man. That was 49 years ago....🥀
Glad you made it back brother. 🇺🇸
Thanks for your service brother!
Glad you made it back...thank you for your service. Y'all didn't get the appreciation you deserved when you got home but we can thank you now.

A Townes van Zandt song?
A Stones tune that Van Zandt covered, great songwriter that he was. A tribute to a Brit band doing country, you might say. I hear echoes of Dylan in this tune myself. All good - an angry celebration, like all great rock tunes.
Sticky fingers. Wow. Thanks mother for sharing the album
heard this song a zillion times and still cant get enough of it.
just brilliant.
Endless hearts and flowera
Saw then at RFK stadium 4th of July for this album. I may not have a lot in life, but I live during the time that music was the best.
Lucky bastard! I grew up with em...finally saw them at 27, in '97. Got tipped a ticket at the bar I worked @, in AF, by a scapler. Hadda race out there...
Uses to have this album, zipper and all. Undies!
Townes made this good song into a great song.
One of The Stones best songs from their best album, "Sticky Fingers." Never tire of listening to this masterpiece.
O. M. G. Excellent song. Excellent pictures. I am always absolutely astounded at the genius of The Rolling Stones' music and instrument playing. (That would include the drums of course but they never get a lot of credit.) Love love love you Stones.
the best period of stones with mick taylor on guitar
I got needle an a spoon just need a basement room
Dead flowers.The Rolling Stones.Beautiful song.❤👄
🙌🌹
Good job there.
A Supreme Touch From The Genius Of The Glimmer Twins.
1K disliked this song. 1K must be blind, deaf and dumb....but then I'm thinking, they wouldn't be able to "dislike" it in the first place. I'm confused...
Ooooowahhhh..... love this.
Dartford's finest !
one of their best
For you Debbie Sue
The more I listen to this song the more I hear Bill Wyman's bassline lifting the song up. Stones wouldn't have been the Stones without him and Charlie swingin' in the back
The Stones wrote better country music than anything - ANYTHING - playing on country radio these days. "Dead Flowers", "Country Honk", "Faraway Eyes", "Sweet Virginia", "Wild Horses"... the list goes on.
Send me dead flowers...
I know it;s illogical but the Stones died for me when Mick Taylor left.
who will retire first...Mick or Paul?
I have come to hate The Rolling Stones. All their songs about the fun of drugs and sex ....what a party. But those waking up today needing fix and rolling around inn pain and don’t have those American $$$ from the $500/ ticket concerts were fooled because they don’t the money for the fancy rehabs, blood transfusions (really) will be the casualties of “in a basement with a needle and spoon.” How glamorous.
It’s been a long night and I hate the fucking Eagles man
WTF? 1,000 people must be "Backside Boys" Johnson smokers.
This may STILL be one of the best Stones songs of all time.
The best R&R band of all time, that's for damn sure.
i'm sorry i lost you when i should've fight for you! i walked away when i should of fight and win you back! i'll never forget the beautiful moments we had!
it's only fair that i hear about your new left hand beauty! i always want you happy
Country Stone
La genialidad de la musica de estos locos es tremenda :D
It sounds american
- Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitar: Mick Jagger
- Electric Guitar & Backing Vocals: Keith Richards
- Electric Guitar Solo: Mick Taylor
- Bass: Bill Wyman
- Drums: Charlie Watts
- Piano: Ian Stewart
I don’t know I am a Rolling Stones fan and this song kind of sucks. I think it’s one of their worst songs. They shouldn’t have killed Brian Jones.
Here's a neat cover https://youtu.be/7nkG8qBumIs
Bien, cuando estés sentada allí
en tu silla forrada de seda,
hablando con algunas personas ricas que conoces.
Bien espero que no me veas
en mi desastrosa compañía
tu sabes que yo nunca puedo estar solo.
Llevame abajo, pequeña susie, llevame abajo.
Se que tu piensas que eres la reina del underground;
y puedes enviarme flores muertas cada mañana,
enviarme flores muertas por correo,
enviarme flores muertas a mi boda.
enviarme flores muertas a mi boda.
The pictures of Jagger ruin the video. Fuckin' Tyrant from Hell.
My very 1st concert-opening acts were Santana and Cheech and Tommy chong!!!! Benefit for Nicaragua earthquake victims-cir. 1974- Inglewood forum!! So how be it that mainstream media offers no clip!?! Of their latest(and perhaps final) ? 🎩
Don't know who Suzie is, but i wish she would take me down
Wow they were clearly influenced by Keith's best mate, the late great Graham Parsons!
Fuck Mick Jagger! He will steal your wife and then laugh about it in your face with his cruel charm.
Not sure any one actually caught the reliance
