I see where you're coming from, but I think a lot of the North African influences came from Peter Gabriel's 'Passion' album. Keith heard some of the tracks when he had dinner at Gabriel's house on Moon Sound, and decided to use some of the rhythms.

It's just a masterpiece. They were stoned, its obvious, thank you.

Beatles did all their work in 7 years. And the only reason The Stones wrote their own work at all was because of The Beatles. They were a blues cover band to start off with. Oldham knew it wouldn't last and got them writing. So it was The Fabs who paved the way for them - even Keith has admitted this. The only reason they got a record contract was on the recommendation of George Harrison because Decca were still dry reaching for rejecting The Beatles. The only reason they made it in the US was because The Beatles knocked down the door for them and every other British act to get a look in. The Beatles changed the industry for all who followed and would not have a had a chance. God you people are uninformed and stupid.
