Rolling Stones, The - All The Way Down Lyrics

I was twenty one naive
Not cynical, I try to please
Her wit, her speech, her repartee
Impressed me almost instantly
She went all the way
All the way down
She went all the way, all the way
She showed me love a hundred ways
How she pimped and how she paid
All the daughters, all the sons
All were welcome, all would come
We went all the way
All the way down
We went all the way, all the way
I was King, Mr. Cool
Just a snobby little fool
(Like kids are now.)
I dreamed of reaching greater heights
I raved about it every night
Talk is cheap
She went all the way, all the way
All the way down, yeah
She went all the way
All the way all the way
All the way, all the way down
She's there when I close my eyes
There when I close my eyes
She's there when I close my eyes
There when I close my eyes
How the years they rush on by
Birthdays, kids and suicides
Still I play the fool and strut
Still you're a slut
Hey girl, she went all the way
All the way, all the way
All the way down
She went all the way
All the way, all the way
All the way down
She went all the way
All the way, all the way
All the way down
You give me back that time right now
I can see it if I close my eyes
Was every minute just a waste?
Was every hour a foolish chase?
I don't believe it
She went all the way
All the way down
She went all the way
All the way down
She went all the way
All the way down
She went all the way
All the way all the way
All the way down
She went all the way
All the way all the way
All the way down

  7. T.... M....

my fav song from the album, thanks for posting

  8. J.... S....

Kind of a crap album IMO...

  9. R.... K....

Best garage rock that they ever did.

  10. S.... C....

    Excellent stuff!!

  11. S.... Y....

That's Ronnie on da oder side of Keef, right?

  12. B.... B....

I've always loved this track but the more and more I listen to it over the years I can't help but think it still sounds fractionaly sloppy and rushed as a final cut?

    B.... B....

I think Martin Elliott says something about that in his book. Chris Kimsey asks the band to "just drop in" and the result is less than stellar, but still a Stones rocker.

    B.... B....

Morcaiden That does certainly does answer a lot of questions! Thanks! Yeah without a doubt still a great album yet still very unappreciated much like dirty work. The more you listen to both albums you learn to love them for what they are..well that's how it went for me anyway.

    B.... B....

    That's the Stones !

  13. R.... W....

    Yeah STONES!

  14. A.... B....

what a life are the rolling stones

  15. R.... O....

    Underrated album.

    R.... O....

Rolling Ormond. I must say I agree with you, for once!! lol!! I played this album to death at the time. I was doing an Art degree in Wales (UK) & turned one or two of my new mates onto the Stones through playing it so much. One of them was always singing "Done up in lace, done up in Rubber!") It did'nt get many friendly reviews at the time and I don't like the 'syn drums' put all over 'Undercover of the Night' , 'Too Much Blood' , 'Feel on Baby' and it could have done with a decent ballad. Otherwise I think it's a good album in a strange decade.

  16. S.... ....

Por ejemplo It must be hell, emulando a Soul Survivor, o She was hot a los temas típicos stone al estilo Berry.

Saludos.

Glad you enjoyed it! An all-around great Stones track :-)

  20. M.... ....

Thanks, Kat! I think we're witnessing a resurgence of appreciation for the mid-80s Stones - Undercover and Dirty Work were always tops for me, although fans ragged on both projects. The variety, experimentation and excitement in those tracks is amazing :-D
