Roger Waters - 5.06 AM (Every Strangers Eyes) Lyrics
Hello...you wanna cup of coffee?
I'm sorry, would you like a cup of coffee?
Ok you take cream and sugar?
In truck stops and hamburger joints
In Cadillac limousines
And bent-backs and sleeping forms
On pavement steps
In libraries and railway stations
In books and banks
In the pages of history
In suicidal cavalry attacks
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes
And now from where I stand
I look around, I search the skies
I shade my eyes, so nearly blind
And I see signs of half remembered days
I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways
I recognise...
The hope you kindle in your eyes
It's oh so easy now
As we lie here in the dark
Nothing interferes it's obvious
How to beat the tears
That threaten to snuff out
The spark of our love

This song gives me goosebumps. Beautiful and wonderful roger waters!
The mullet makes him looks like a my aunt Jean when she worked at Walmart in Nebraska
I woke up with this . It's 2020 and it's still with me... Timeless
The people that Roger is singing about don't give two shits who he is. Don't get me wrong, I really think it's a good song. But still...
!!!!Thank mr.Waters.
USA is biggest terrorist in the World. After Izrael.
And you're the biggest idiot.
USA is biggest terrorist in the World. After Izrael.
Wow that's a shocker how often do you see Rodger Waters face!
I love the song, but this video had to have been made on a budget of like $50
Gênio!
Y need you
The ending scene gets me every time, if you stare in his eyes.. my God, I got the feeling of the unity and beauty of every living thing eternally resting in the black of the pupil.
He looks ever so different now, aging is fucking weird!
It just occurred to me that Pink Floyd's 1987 "Learning to Fly" has similar visuals (mainly the flying above land and water) as this video from 1984.
Just noticed.
Timeless masterpiece
Roger is a great, GREAT singer. " Vera" is one of the best vocal performance i have ever heard in my life. And there are so , SO many about him... This song is a masterpiece. (another one...) . The guitar solo is going so deep in the heart ... Lord !!
In truck stops and hamburger joints
In Cadillac limousines
In the company of has-beens
And bent-backs
And sleeping forms on pavement steps
In libraries and railway stations
In books and banks
In the pages of history
In suicidal cavalry attacks
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes
And in wheelchairs by monuments
Under tube trains and commuter accidents
In council care and county courts
At Easter fairs and sea-side resorts
In drawing rooms and city morgues
In award winning photographs
Of life rafts on the China seas
In transit camps, under arc lamps
On unloading ramps
In faces blurred by rubber stamps
I recognise...
Myself in every stranger's eyes
And now, from where I stand
Upon this hill
I plundered from the pool
I look around
I search the skies
I shade my eyes
So nearly blind
And I see signs of half remembered days
I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways
I recognise...
The hope you kindle in your eyes
It's oh so easy now

Com o David na guitarra fica espectacular!

Germany 1985. Air Force dorm life... was music I went to sleep to after a few Bitburgers! As classic as it gets.

Happy Birthday Roger thank you for all the songs you give us
Peccato che questo disco ha avuto poco successo ma a me è piaciuto tanto. È da ascoltare in casa con un buon impianto stereo. Ma penso che a chi piace Roger Waters il disco ce l'ha. Ma nel tempo sarà rivalutato.
What s the nice faces!!!!
Magnifica cancion de Roger!!!

Linda canção❣ ❤👏❤👏❤👏❤👏❤👏
Так классно поёт.Вы Че по русски не бельмеса.
why is all of rogers solo work so boring
Not afraid to show true feeling
Beautiful...no words.
Roger Waters' lyrics & voice with Eric Clapton on guitar - a gorgeous combination.
How to beat the tears that threaten to snuff out the spark of our love? Thats it.
There was a band around at the time that would needed a singer/writer of this calibre. They are called Pink Floyd and just create mundane elevator music. This guy would give them the edginess to make them really great. ;)
Yeah too bad Roger left on his own accord and was so egotistical that he thought the others couldn’t carry on. Roger is a great lyricist but a profound asshole. He couldn’t even tune his own bass. I think he left at the right time because his voice was really starting to go. He just talks instead of singing and then occasionally lets out some screeches.
They really needed him. They ended making garbage like the Division bell.
And Momentary lapse.
Just excellent for the body, mind and spirit .👍Beautiful.
Thank you v much.
Lo devono

Were some of those shoots in Death Valley?
Had no idea this was a song until I was just bored in my bedroom staying up on summer And I searched the time on YouTube not realizing that my phone was 100% volume and woke my parents up
I love this song
I recognize my self in every strangers eyes ....
His best solo album.....in fact, Final Cut is, but we know it is PF , where most beautiful solos in his career played David....
Sounds more like Dire Straits than Pink Floyd.
спасибо большое...
Great Tune!

The man is a genius...Floyd would’ve never made it without him period...
You're absolutely right 👌
I don't think he would've made it without them either though. Such an amazing combination of people.
@Kirkland Whatley That's correct. The combination is what made them great. Apart from each other, they were so so.
მართლაც მშვენიერია!..
É um merda drogado filho da puta que quer influenciar as pessoas , mau caráter podre de rico que quer interferir no país dos outros onde ele não conhece a realidade
Lyrics like you will never see again... pure genius.
essa musica é demais!!!.........somZeira!!!!
Waters looks like a homosapien in this video. This song is the copy of Southampton docks...come on Roger, you can do better...!
The Best vocal and music!
Excellent
El disco completo es una obra de arte.
why have i never seen a video from this album? my life has meant nothing for decades. : (
OK, never had any doubt that RW is sincere in music writing, though his blind-folded biases in certain circumstances is hard to believe, even for a moderate. But - the whole "P&C of HH" album is an endless road of sopping, a self indulgence DIY for *blame it on someone else*, or whatever you might call it. As depressing and no-value as The Final Cut, the worst album ever with a PF label on it. I prefer the REAL Pink Floyd (RIP Syd and Rick) in stead of this depressing piece of ...?, well, "music"....
Absolute musical masterpiece
It’s my personal favorite Waters’ work, what a masterpiece!
I've been listening to this song since high school-30 years ago. Has never grown old. Eric Clapton's guitar work, Waters range and lyrics. So powerful, so poignant.
Few people can do to one's soul what roger does through his art.
start at 4:05 and watch this guy never blink
