Rod Stewart - Still The Same Lyrics

You always won, everytime you placed a bet
You're still damn good, no one's gotten to you yet
Everytime they were sure they had you caught
You were quicker than they thought
You'd just turn your back and walk
You always said, the cards would never do you wrong
The trick you said was never piay the game too long
A gambler's share, the only risk that you would take
The only loss you could forsake
The only bluff you couldn't fake

And you're still the same
I caught up with you yesterday
Moving game to game
No one standing in your way
Turning on the charm
Long enough to get you by
You're still the same
You still aim high

There you stood, everybody watched you play
I just turned and walked away
I had nothing left to say

'Cause you're still the same
You're still the same
Moving game to game
Some thlngs never change
You're still the same

Rod Stewart Still The Same Comments

Rob put bobbby boy (seger) to shame!!!

If you are going to do a covers record, you have to change the arrangements of the tunes. Just like what Rod did to Tom Waits' song "Downbound Train." This is just a straight cover of Bob's song which he sang when he was young (and when he had a much better voice that the elderly Stewart). Of course he sang it with more passion as well because it was a song he wrote the lyrics and music for. The ultimate song about Type A personalities and the perils of possessing one. So many of them in the L.A. area where Bob was hanging out at the time he wrote this great song.

  3. Willz __

Bob Seger version is better by far

    Blah blah blah
All i hear is a bad attempt at a bob seger classic.
The band sounds good, rod just cant match bob's vocals.
    E for effort

However its a big thumbs down from me.

  9. infinera06

    That was awful.

  10. Bobby Burns

I'm surprised that Rod didn't sing "Brother Louie" by Stories since so many people credited him to that song. I would have liked to have heard that.

    TheLAKERSareGodsTeam

Brother Louie is a sad song. A real dark theme. It actually lives in darkness, it has no emotional texture other than pain. I don't blame Rod at all, it's a theme to avoid.

I can win the million dollar game whether for play money or real money.  But they freeze my screen and I have to sign out.

  14. abbie baker

I told you that we are the invisible brotherhood.  If it moves in this universe, and crosses our radar, I know about it.

  15. abbie baker

I don't care about all this overly emotional nonsense.  I am more concerned that children in Africa don't have clean drinking water.  You broke my heart.  I'll always remember but I'll learn to live with it.

  16. abbie baker

I'll get married someday and I probably won't ever love them the way I love you, but we'll get by and my father will keep me busy.

  17. abbie baker

If we don't have loyalty, what is love without it?

  18. abbie baker

Love hurts.  I still love you and I always will but I am leaving soon and I'll never see you again.

  19. abbie baker

Rod, my father told me that you had a long talk with a member of R---family and that you told them our entire conversation.
