This is a travesty and the banal production has rinsed all emotion from a tender break up song and reduced it to elevator music. Come on Rod...You can do better with such great material. E.g. Mandolin Wind, Reason To Believe.

this 80's music transports me to another time and place where everything was so bright and simple. Would just laze all afternoon and listen to music and read books and watch trees sway in summer wind. No cell phones, no internet, just pure joy of being in touch with music and my soul

Music is subjective. What you said is 'the crap'. While I give credit for Todd's work to my ears Rod's version sounds great. I figured you heard Todd first and that's why you associate this song to him. Now I from the 80's and I heard Rod's version first. So I say his version is better!!! So subjective.
