Rod Stewart - (I Know) I'm Losing You Lyrics

Your love is fading I can feel your love fading
Woman it's fading away from me
'Cause your personal touch has grown cold
as if someone else controls your very soul
I fooled myself long as I can
I can feel the presence of another man
It's there when you speak my name
It's just not the same
Oh honey I'm losing you
I can feel it in the air, it's there everywhere
Oh I'm losing you

I can feel it in my bones
any day you'll be up and gone
Ooh I'm losing you
It's all over your face someone's takin' my place
Could it be that I'm losing you

When I look into your eyes a reflection of a face I see
Oh Lord I'm losing you
I'm hurt, downhearted and worried girl
'cause that face doesn't belong to me

Your love is fadin', I can feel it fadin'
Oh away from me
I can feel it in the air, it's there everywhere
ooh I'm losing you

I don't wanna lose you
but I know I'm gonna groove you
Oh Lord I'm losing you, and I'm a losin' you

Your love is fadin', I can feel it fadin'
Oh Lord I'm losing you

  37. Justin Joseph

This entire album is amazing! My favorite Rod album by a mile!

  38. ckelley63

    Back when Rod Rocked!

  39. Big V Rocks

Casey's Tavern, "Where the Elite Meet", Hertel Avenue, Buffalo, NY , Summer 1971... What t time, what a place! RIP Casimir “Butch Casey” Sucharski. He always was a nice guy to me. Picked me and my buddies up numerous time in his hot car and I can still feel the kick drum shaking my body at the sound of 'Midnight Rambler, the live version, by the Stones. Anyone who was every there knows what I'm talking about. Those truly were the days...

  40. ursel doran

Yup, the drums are great, but without the piano rockin also.........

    J. McC

That would be the great Ian McLagan

  41. John Beckham

Give a listen to Kenney Jones here playing his drums! He's extraordinary here, and perhaps that is why Kenney played the drums for The Who later after Keith Moon died for a short duration? Perhaps it was the closeness that Ronnie Lane and Pete Townshend had especially during the Rough Mix recordings! This album was undoubtedly Rod Stewart at his best!

  42. Tom Raynor

My opinion. Best version of this song. Two thumbs up!!!!

  43. Curt Ray

man did we live. fine example of being free. we thought it was tough

  44. Christine Martin

Not easy to remake a David Ruffin hit only Rod could pull it off

  45. stacyblue1980

Losing you........but freedom is right in frunna' me..... right on,,.

  46. Todd Van Fleet

    Hmm..
    The arrangement is stellar.
    The band?
Guitar: Ronnie Wod Future 30 year Rolling Stones member, founding member of the Faces and Jeff Beck Group alum. (Played bass for BB King when he was 19).
    Drums:Kenney Jones.
Future Who drummer, (no pressure there), The Faces, and much more.
    Nicky Hopkins on piano:
The Who, J.Beck Group, Stones (only musician EVER credited on the album cover besides the Stones themselves), tons more..
And sadly a member of the 27 club.
    And Rod on vocals.
    Another Faces, J.Beck Group alum.
His song choices , his voice..until his Disco turn, right there with
Jagger and the rest atop the great frontman pile.

    No easy task then.

    Yeah. Pretty good stuff.

    danger2374

    That's Ian McLagan on piano

    Hedgemist

No, it's not as good...it's a million times better!

    Cilla C

@Hedgemist NO. Not even close to the MASTERPIECE of The Late GREAT DAVID RUFFIN.

  60. Keith Pixton

I underestimated him. I guess it helps if you listen to more than just the biggest hits.

    Dan G

An easy mistake to make. He started becoming terrible about the time he left The Faces.

    piledriverpotter

Peter Frank Very catchy isn't it.

  74. Peter Frank

This is truly a great cover but the song is still The Temptations'.

    Hedgemist

How can you say that? Compared to this, the Temptations version is crap.

  75. Dakota Hayden

My favorite version of this classic.

    Kevin Simpson

    Dakota Hayden

What are you crazy. King David can never be overtaken!

  76. david rector

    Tarantulisimo

Russell Melling  It's Kenney Jones uncredited due to contractual obligations

    TheAudivisioner

    They were credited.
The single did credit the Faces.

    Bob Schneider

    @Richard Van Slyke *Kenney

    Bernie Holland

It's definitely not Mick Waller - I [email protected] Melling

  83. Dj São

    The Temptations

    Lily Brewer

Rare Earth did it too. This one is my favorite.

    Hedgemist

This is much better than the Temptations. Can't listen to their version after hearing this.

  84. Crash Davis

This song kicks! Who is on Drums Kenny Jones or Mickey Waller? I have heard it was Waller.

    WarThunder Dude

    Kenny Jones

    Tarantulisimo

Kenney Jones plays uncredited on this one.

  87. Dave Rose

Don't forget it was a Temptations Song first, Rods is sufficiently different, he certainly made it his own for sure

    Roxanne Moser

The Temptations original is good, but I believe this is the best version.

    TheCosmicFunker

@Roxanne Moser Roxanne, have you heard Rare Earth's version of this song? In my opinion, it's even better than Rod's.

The Undisputed Truth also recorded an excellent version of (I Know) I'm Losing You.

    Robert Mcbee

Hell naw I mean this is good but this don't have nothing on David Ruffin and The Temptations bruh 💯

  88. GlennMarshallRocks

Rod's backing band The Faces were previously called The Small Faces. They were band that recorded the 1967 hit "Itchycoo Park". Everyone knows "Itchycoo Park", but no one realizes the band backing Rod Steward on this album was that same group...
They were about as famous in England as The Who when they started backing Rod, and were more famous than Stewart was at the start of that relationship. Interestingly enough, after touring for a few years with Rod Stewart, Faces singer/guitarist, Steve Marriott quit the group, and called up a buddy of his and started a new band called Humble Pie. Who was his buddy...? It was Peter Frampton.

    Two Black Labs

old man of oy Thanks for the great history lesson. I had always assumed there was a lot of friction between Marriott & Frampton, and always wondered “What if...” Again, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with your dates and the relationships between “once bandmates.” Small Faces, The Faces, Humble Pie and Frampton as a solo artist, were all awesome in their day...and the members you mentioned were all incredible talents in their own right, but methinks Ronnie Wood made the best decisions out of all of them...

    TheAudivisioner

    Must be remembered:
Rod was part of the original Jeff Beck Group.
Jeff on guitar, Rod on vocals, Ronnie Wood on bass, with some keyboards played by John Paul Jones.  The Album was produced by Mickie Most, whom John Paul Jones was one of the main people in his core.  Jones also performed with Herman's Hermits, Lulu, Donovan and others before joining what would be Led Zeppelin.

    john Butler

Except Ronnie Wood was not in Small Faces but was with Jeff Beck-Ronnie Lane was on bass for both

    Steven Morris

Rod and the faces came later

    J. McC

@john Butler Ronnie Lane was never in the J. Beck group.

  89. tim sears

Ive been trying to figure out the drum solo since the early 70s....it is a fantastic solo.... has a lot of heart to it..

    WarThunder Dude

    tim sears it’s kenney

    stephen larson

..if you Google it...you can find covers and how to do it

    J. McC

Watch the live version at BBC in 1971, the solo is extended.

  90. Klasse Act

Listen to how gravelly his voice is and that band, DAMN!

    Doug Wittrock

    Ronnie Wood FTW.

    Dan G

well it's essentially 3/4 of the Small Faces

  91. castlerider99

One of the greatest if not the, Drum solos in A&R rock. Because it works so perfectly with the structure of the song and adds rather then differentiates, from the song.

    Bob Schneider

    castlerider99 *AOR

  92. Thomas Fernandez

Holy crap this song played in The Nice Guys trailer

    Dan G

    nobody gives a shit

    Boom Cube

Dan G - Why does it make you so upset that people hear music in trailers? Fuck off.

  93. GravityBoy72

    Brilliant all round.
I think that's Ronnie on guitar.
    Well it's nearly The Faces.

  94. Thomas Swafford

    My favorite by him.

  95. eugene fried

    SLAM IT TINA

  96. Richard Marshall Bowman

Roddy & the boys (Faces) doin' what they did best.

    Tim Hale

    Totally agree

  98. Alex Lee

"What are you, some kinda boyscout?"
    "Eagle scout, actually. First Class."

  99. Slade Mangrum
