Robin Trower - I Want To Take You With Me Lyrics

Every fear starts as a teardrop.
From a tear to torrent stream.
My love for you is my religion.
Your happiness, my only creed.

I found comfort in the shadows.
I was hiding from myself.
And when you listened to my story,
The truth of it, I had to tell.

And I want to take you with me.
To where the heart will know no fear.
I want to take you with me.
Far away from here.

Was there ever, one so tender?
Who draws a love from so much light.
And my own weakness does not offend her.
My poor heart is her's by right.

And I want to take you with me.
To where the heart will know no fear.
I want to take you with me.
Far away from here.

She will bear his child in sorrow.
And the children that we make.
But her heart I only borrow.
'Cause I'm not sure it's mine to take.

And I want to take you with me.
To where the heart will know no fear.
I want to take you with me.
Far away from here.

I am truly blessed to have seen him live 4 times twice in the 70's and  twice  2016 n 2018  his skills haven't diminished at all  .its a shame that our local radio stations have no knowledge of this amazing talent... their loss ... RIP James Dewar check out   where are you going To?

  17. D.... M....

I have been an R/T fan since the late 70s and have been fortunate to see him 19 times in concert. I've turned so many people on to his music and they remain lifelong fans. I've never seen another player jell with the guitar like Robin does. I have met him and he is such a class guy. Looking forward to seeing him next time in Big D.

  18. M.... R....

Diehard Trower fan for 45 years. Never get tired of hearing his music. This is a wonderful soulful tune.

  19. A.... B....

Trower some of the best tripping music in the 70s

  20. J.... S....

A golden classic. Saw Robin at San Juan Capistrano in 2003. Been listening to him since the 70's through the influence of my dear late brother.

Come finish that conversation that was supposed to happen.....
    I need you to.
    It's your turn....I need you.

  25. T.... ....

    Beautiful pictures.

  26. D.... G....

50 people should no longer be allowed to listen to any music for the rest of their natural born lives...this song kills and is (arguably) the single best example of Trower's extended guitar work.

  27. G.... J....

Wow! Been listening to RT since 73, seen him a few times, but never heard this gem! Makes me wonder what else I've missed. Thank's for for making my day!

  28. K.... P....

    Set your soul free

  29. K.... R....

Every time I hear this EXCELLENT song I smile being thankful for being blessed by THE greatest music this world will ever know. Anything since those fabulous days is a pathetically sad joke lol. IT’S WORTH IT TO BE OLD TO HAVE LIVED IN THOSE FABULOUS
FABULOUS DAYS- and you couldn’t find a better example of it than this!

  30. t.... ....

Been listening to Robin since the 70's. He is pure genius. Nothing can mellow you out like a trower song.....

  31. B.... N....

just was listening to this and had some one distract me and I wanted to scream "LEAVE ME ALONE" this song is a soul soother.

  32. K.... G....

Thanks so much Robin, you have TRULY " taken me with you " for over 45 years, and with this song - a recent discovery, once again even farther into the Cosmos. You my friend are honestly an Enigma.

  33. Y.... R....

For me Robin Trower was kind of a musical treasure to find, BTW im 24 years old, the composition, technique and passion of these pieces are on the cosmic level.

    Y.... R....

    kid you know good music.

  34. c.... m....

    Vibrato master!

  35. l.... ....

Another great work from Trower. From Twice removed from yesterday till today. He still sounds great

  36. D.... L....

Errrr....I can't find this song in iTunes Store.....bummer!

  37. J.... B....

this. song has moved me like nothing else...Love ya..

  38. p.... p....

I stumbled upon this gem quite by accident. Thank you for sharing! I loved Robin since the 70s and he has not lost his touch one iota. In fact, he has even gotten better, if that's even possible! Eric Clapton always seemed to invite the "best players" but somehow managed to "miss" Robin. Yet Clapton can't hold a candle to Robin's talent. Ditto the snub from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Well, "Shame", really! What a superb tune this is! 👏👏😊💕💕

  42. S.... T....

As a longtime Trower fan since the mid-'70's, this is a great song. Aside from that, this is a beautiful song all in itself. Amazing melody, vocals, guitar tone, and vibe. Wonderful!

  43. J.... ....

Robin Trower = The Enya of Rock music

  44. R.... S....

    Beautiful Music

  45. J.... R....

Robin is probably the most underrated rock/blues guitarist ever! Robin told the big record companies to go screw themselves so he could make music his way. Thank goodness for that because THIS IS REAL MUSIC! Not just thrown together for a profit , but rather music with felling from the heart! Thank you Robin Trower!

  46. R.... B....

Oh yea the sincere words of wanting to share ones real true experience of some beautiful journey in their life is why I felt to share my comments to say first- Praise our Most Loving Creator God Our Father, Whom is the Giver of all that each and everyone of us can come to learn and change to be. For what you or I come to recognize and to then to seek with prayer to understand more of the things we're being shown with Our Fathers Blessings and also why He sent His True Son Jesus, who is The Good Shepard and Prince of Peace, and these sincere words truly do define that He is that One we're to follow, to be loving His Father with all our hearts mind and souls, and being Most Caring to loving all of His Fathers creation of those perfect beautiful living families on all the planet. Though we all were deceived from that original sin, to what you now see, with billionaires who covet and put your neighbor out there to dig up rocks and minerals for this continuing onward rising cost of all of the necessities. I then can truly tell you that Our Merciful and Forgiving Father can heal every man women and child by being humble like we were as children. to not being that old ego macho selfish way, to simply start to buying the healing real food from Our Loving Fathers Garden the fruits, grains, vegetables and nuts. When you gentlemen and gentle sisters stay with true peace loving diet, Only then will you see the real blessings and miracles of what your True Father can open up inside of you. Just remember to always keep praying for the strength to stay faithful and led not into the past temptation , but more it is when you are sincere in your asking in prayer to learn His Way to continue doing , And go with His Blessings and be Peacemakers. and Praise Our Father Amen

Robin Trower was my first guitar hero, from way back in the eight-track tape days. I love that he is still making music that is as vital and soulful as this, so many miles down the road.

Robin coming from Procol Harem , started on the right foot.

  75. B.... E....

I saw Robin twice in Boston although his playing was amazing his guitar tech screwed up his sound more than once during both shows. Robin and Jimmy were a force back in those days, many hairs ago for me. Peace.

What a truly stunning piece of music, Robin's guitaring can take you from a reflective mood listening to this track right through to full on leap about crazy "little bit of sympathy" I know I've done it and still do it hahaha :) How many artists can be that good? The contribution of vocals from James Dewar and Davey Pattison are immense and the great drumming of Pete Thompson too. God Bless you Robin and thank you for the endless hours of enjoyment listening to your music.... This track is good I want this playing at my funeral...

  88. N.... D....

Love the song! But is it just me or does the beginning sound just a touch like"In City Dreams"? Another great song!

  93. H.... T....

One word covers this legend's music: atmospheric. Whichever track you're listening to, it gently leads you away along a carpet of sound. It only needs to be played loud enough to fill the room you're in. You need to lay down, close your eyes for the quiet bits and leap around for the faster, louder bits.
