Robin Trower - Another Time Another Place Lyrics

Dry your eyes-wipe away your tears-my precious one
Everyday, some way, some where we'll fall
The world must turn, that's why we try to keep movin' on
It's always been that way… that's all.

Now, I'm not sayin' you won't find somethin' to believe in
Even the search can define the truth
But first time impressions can be so deceivin'
When somethin' does your heart, you just turn it loose

And we will meet another time
The sun on our face
And we will meet another time
Another time, another place

There will be days when you just want to give it up
But things don't always have to go our way
So take a drink, when they pass you the cup
The bitter can taste so sweet, another day

And we will meet another time
The sun upon our face
And we will meet another time
Another time, another place

So dry your eyes-wipe away your tears-my precious one
And watch as da-ays go spinnin' by
The moments are lost when you hear the siren song
The spell will break when you hear first one cry
And we will meet another time
The sun upon our face
And we will meet another time
Another time, another place

Something so emotional about this song. Trower is a master, definitely in my top 5 right up there with Gilmour. This song always helped me calm down when things werent going well. One of the greats

Another Time !….. Another Place !……. Seen Robin Trower play the Nags Head North in Markham , Ontario way back in 1985 ! This was a long anticipated return of the soulful guitar licks legend , and yes Robin with his black Fender Stratocaster with Maple neck , incredibly poured his heart and his soul into that guitar on this special night !!! Seen a lot of a concerts thru the years , with only a handful that I can recall that actually moved me spiritually while watching them play …!!! *This will always be one of the concerts where the memories of the nights performance , stays within your collective thoughts for many a year afterwards !!!*

  33. S.... ....

It never even occurred to me that R.T could again evoke the emotion in me that I found in Long Misty Days ... I cry as my heart is touched..again..
Robin Trower, the band as one... From the depths of my heart I thank you...

  34. S.... ....

I always play this when someone I know has died. The lyrics are so poignant.

I played it today for that reason.

    S.... ....

I hate losing friends; but I love to find ways to honour their memory.  This is one!

  35. S.... ....

R.T.. The only guitar legend to truly express his life`s journey in his own indefinable Genre of music..

  36. A.... H....

    lijepa si.

  37. R.... B....

thank you. truly. how could I of lived this long...without this track...so exquisitely perfect.

  38. G.... O....

Is it just me or is Pattison trying to sound like Dewar here? Not that I mind- it fits the song.

    G.... O....

OMG...I was thinking the same. Don't think he's tryin to copy Dewars sound, but his style is very similar...LOVE IT

    G.... O....

Doesn't matter who's singing.  It is perfection.

    G.... O....

Truly outstanding as is his normal standard, it grabbed me at age 20 and 39 years later i am still mesmerised.Thank you Robin for all the fantastic tones over all the years.

  39. F.... ....

trower power always good!!! the tone is so good!!!

  40. 4.... ....

A fan of the man forever, since I was exposed to his music in 1970's. Guitar and lyrics are second to none, regardless of who is on vocals.

    4.... ....

You and me both Tommy C, there has been and only ever will be one man who plays his heart this way..

    4.... ....

420TommyC same with me my older brother showed me Robin's music back in the '70's and I've been hooked ever since 👍

  41. C.... M....

Such a sexy voice and Robin's guitar screams sex ! fkn great ! 🎶

  42. D.... ....

Robin Trower is very prolific and has a nice voice, to boot!

    D.... ....

+Docmatrix1 Actually this isn't Robin singing on this one. It's Davey Pattison. To be honest, I think Robin's decision to sing on many of his recent albums has cost him some listeners. He's my favorite guitarist of all time, but I'm not much of a fan of his vocals.

  43. C.... P....

This is one of my all-time favorites by RT...but many of the words posted as this song's lyrics are just plain incorrect....sadly. Thanks for posting, nevertheless....

    C.... P....

@Chris Parker ~ thanks for bringing that to my attention ; I've now adjusted the posted lyric in the 'drop down' info ;-j

Heard this song listening to Deep Tracks on Satellite Radio.  Downloaded it that afternoon.  Incredible tune.  Really cool bluesy riffs.

    s.... r....

Ha...I did the exact same thing...probably was listening to Deep Tracks at the same time too !

  48. d.... ....

It doesn't matter what you you play... it's clearly how Robin plays it.  He has a feel matched with a tone that just grabs you inside.  The vocals are meaningful and smooth... just like the Trower we all loved in our youth.

  49. 3.... ....

wow this is really great. robin needed a great vocalist since james and sounds like he found one.

Beautiful!!!!! Now who are the two dorks that don't like this song above? PLEASE!

    interesting..cooool

  52. S.... G....

They are still able to capture that 60's feel and tone. Its not a Hendrix steal its just that whole 60 rock vibe in there. Damn this is nice. I didn't think Robin could replace James but I think he found an equal, he's not James and its great still. Kudos RT

    @magslyfarnham1
yeah I've been listening to a song called "Voyager" by Gamma that sounds a lot like Trower's "No Time" and I was wondering if it was the same vocalist. Thx

  66. M.... ....

So feeling....from the souls of honest men. Keep it up Robin, Davey....all the band. Love it. Such a gift to move a spirit through sound waves driven by heart.

  67. A.... ....

Just Wow doesn't even touch what this song really does to me ,,, for me. I can count on one hand the songs that somehow wrap themselves around my soul. I don't know why. I don't know how. I only know that this one does.

How excellent!! Meeting your Guitar hero ☺ I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Tony T.S. McPhee after he did a set @ Portsmouth, Guildhall last year. Th@ was special for me as his music had a profound effect on me when I was a youngster, and I've always had an affinity with it ever since. Mr. M, also, is a proper 'top gent'.

Good stuff indeed, thanks for your info 'joe.

  78. E.... ....

Bridge of Sighs rings bells, yea... hot and cold on the other albums. Yes, th@'s how I recall Long Misty Days ; some fantastic tracks and others th@ did nothing for me. I'll pick up 'Bridge...' & 'Long...' most likely.

    cont...

  79. A.... S....

I'll state the obvious by saying that Bridge of Sighs (entire album) is his masterpiece. From there, I think it really is personal preference - for me, at least, it seemed like there were flashes of brilliance in each album with as many forgettable pieces. I finally got to see him live last year at the House of Blues. He hangs around after the show to meet the fans. You won't meet a more humble gentleman. We laughed when I told him not to hit me for asking him to autograph my $ 200 Epiphone.

  80. E.... ....

To my shame I have to admit I'm not very familiar with RT''s work. Don't know why, but he's been slipping under my radar for many years. I had his 'Long Misty Days' album time ago and I liked it very much, but it escaped me way back when.... Since then he never came to my notice and I forgot how good he was! For someone who liked Long Misty Days, wh@ would you recommend to go with it, for when I'm sounds shopping next?

    E.... ....

Playful Heart is a must, along with Go My Way, for starters...

  81. A.... S....

Sounds a lot like "Only Time" off of Victims of the Fury. Agree?
Great sound, great song. My guitar hero.

  82. C.... ....

    great track 5*

  83. E.... ....

Split is my fav 'Hogs' too ☺

  84. w.... ....

Nice posting James. Anyway it's my favourite of his so thanx and also 4 Vernon Reid hits a spot with me and Tony Mcphee. Hogwash is my favourite, still got the vinyl . Split is the best tho!
