Robin Thicke - I Dont Know How It Feels To Be U Lyrics
I don't know..
I don't know..
How it feels to be you
Though I try my best to understand what you're going through
I don't know..
Though I try to learn your steps,
I don't know what makes you dance,
I don't know what turns your grey skies, back to blue
Though i try to see you're side,
and swallow all my pride
There is no way I can take a, step in your shoes
Cause I don't know..
I don't know..
Though I try my best to understand what you're going through
I don't know..
How it feels to be you
So lay you're cheeks upon my chest,
Tell me everything, that hunts you're mind
Oh wow oh ohh oh,
I may not have all the answers,
But if you let me I, can at least try
(Let me try baby)
Uhh uh uhh..
And when I'm sure I've had enough,
The angels tell me just to, wait a while
Oh ohh oh,
And baby I am sorry,
For being so hard on you sometimes
Oh yeah yeah..
But I don't know..
I don't know..
How it feels to be you
Though I try my best to understand what you're going through
I don't know..
How it feels to be you
Oh yeah yeah..
Da da da da,
Oh!
Da da da da,
Come on baby!
Yeah!
You know that I love you!
Da da da da,
You know that I'd try baby!
Da da da da,
You know that I need you, all my life baby!
I don't know..
I still don't know..
How it feels to be you..
Everyday I ask myself,
Are we really on, the very same page
Oh huuh..
And everyday I wonder, is there something that I'm
Supposed to say
I wonder baby..
Cause you and I are so in time
Maybe I'm just, picking the wrong lines
Cause I feel it in my heart, you know I adore you
But sometimes you can't even look me, in the eye
Why oh why oh tell me why I don't know
I don't know..
How it feels to be you
Though I try my best to understand what you're going through
I don't know..
How it feels to be you
Oh yeah yeah baby..
Da da da da,
Da da da da,
Uh baby!
Come on baby, come on
You know that I love you!
Da da da da,
You know that I'd try baby
Da da da da,
You know that I, need you
All my life baby, I can't walk in your shoes
Da da da da,
I can't keep singing your blues!
Da da da da,
You know I can't read your mind!
I can't see life trough your beautiful eyes!
But you know that I love you!
Da da da da,
You know that I'd try, try try
You know that I need you..
Tell me why baby
Cause I don't know..
I don't know..
I still don't know..
But i try baby!
I don't know..
I don't know..
Still don't know..
How it feels to be you
Ohh..
I don't know...

You could have been a better man....
Smack you for hurting her!!!!
Love the concept behind this. Loved this Robin, beautiful song! Men, keep seeking to know your lady more and more.
Get over it - this is 2014 - she's "not white" and he's "white" so what - none of our business - they're just 2 AMERICANS - so sad, that this is still an issue! Well, for me, it's not - how many of you can join me? Does it really take another 9/11 to remind us to stay united? Please tell me that it doesn't- and if you will tell me that it doesn't, I will sleep so much happier tonight! Please let me see you all stay with me!
I love this song, especially after hearing his reason for writing it! That man seems really amazing!
She is even more black when she stands next to her husband and sees people treat him different because he is married to her...or they look down on their skin contrasts. And being raised by her white mother, I am sure she was constantly reminded that she is not white (diffrent hair, different skin tone, people staring - it was the 70's), which is why she sees herself as black.
she's mixed
leave the man's wife and his in-laws alone!!!!!!!!!!!!......lets just focus on how sexy his voice is ...<3...woohoo...XD
Her mom is white.
No, her mom is white.
I love that one.
What clothes?
she claims he black side. she calls herself "black" instead of mixed which she is.
black eye and unmanageable hair no dad seems right
Yeah, that's what he told reporters when they compared him to Justin Timberlake.
white dad, black mother.
ever hear his song Dreamworld? its about their interracial relationship as well... a really deep and great song
My dear, I already knew what mulatto was. I previously have researhed that term.
Did you know that a Mestizo is the product of Caucasian and Native American ancestry? Well, it's true. and in the Castas system, they were often poor farmers and "lowly" servants.
A mulatto is a person of White and African ancestry. That term was used to describe the offspring produced from that union in Latin America during the Early Modern Period when the Castas system was still in place. Just call them black people lol
I usually call African-Americans (not immigrants) mullatto because in Africa they would be looked up to as "white", and here looked down on as "black".
I know the term is outdated, but I like it. As for dealing with stereotypes in the blak comunity, that's sounds pretty difficult. I am a woman, and I am a Jewish woman. So even though it is not as harsh as jokes I get offended by "Jew" jokes. I have had to deal with my share of social difficulties and ostracism for other reasons. So I have strong feelings against some types of negative stereotyping. I know a lot of blacks (who are Somali immigrants) in my area.
had white mothers but their mothers raised them with the idea of being a black person(s) in America B/c they knew that that is ultimately how they would be treated, they would be treated as black people b/c not all the world would see them for them but ultimately judge them on the color of their slin, and that is still the sad truth people still judge people a superficial bs-black white, purple green or whatever.
Black in America is not just being associated w/" Black," skin it's about the awful stereotypes, sometimes second class citizenships that may come w/ it of being a minority. And being a minority and a women, you are born with two strikes against you. And i'm happy that you are for breaking stereotypes but not everyone is as forward thinking as you. And just because she is a mulatta (outdated term), the world shes her as a black thus treating her that way. The actress Halle Berry and Obama both
This got that marvin gaye feel, dont it. Ya'll feel that.
all good singers and songwriters know how to make a song out of an argument.
more like a "im a guy, youre a woman sometimes i dont understand where you come from so please forgive me? oh and youre black and im white that too ;)"
I can't tell if he means this song in a way like: "because of my white male privilege I can never know what it is truly like to be you but I accept what you tell me" or if he means it in a more whining, "I can't understand, so ease up on me" route. Obviously, I hope it's the former.
Hey, I'm multiethnic myself, so I'm just voicing my opinions. I try to honor all my roots.
By your definition then no African American is black if true "black women" are dark skinned "African" beauties. Africa is a giant continent away. Most black people in the U.S. have not only never been to Africa but also have NO desire to go to Africa. Identifying for multi-ethnic individuals is a very personal choice and not meant to be judged by anyone. I agree that her experience w/race has probably been different then a darker skinned person but who says that makes it less of an experience?
What would make you think I'm hating?
Why would I hate? I'm iconoclast, all about breaking stereotypes. I just disagree, but it's her life. The true black women are the ebony dark, dark skinned beauties of Africa. She would be defined as mulatta.
Actually her mom is white and her dad is black but she sees herself as a black woman. She feels that the world sees her that way so she identifies with it. Don't hate.
correct line is "cause I FEAR it in my heart".
makes my clothes come off.. and im a guy
Well to answer your question aside from being gorgeous to many in the world; the movie industry that she works in still judge woman of colored woman mixed or not as someone not right for a part simply because of skin color and that has to hurt. People are people no matter what yet we still label each other, it's just the facts sad but true.
i lovee dis song dis song rite here makes me love robin thicke more as an artist !!
what kind of disadvantage can paula patton possibily have ??????? gorgeous famous black women like herself>>?????
Totally am one of his biggest fans as a musician, artist, and jazz musician myself. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like he is the continuation of Marvin Gaye- an exact replica. Even the look somewhat. I mean that in the best way. This song really brings it out.
Ok, true. She is a black woman--but she is just as much a white woman.
She's a queen.
Black mother, white father.
She's not black.
Why do you keep commenting
I just love Robin's voice. I love it so much..
I've just fallen in love with this song,i just can't stop listening to it,it's like a drug for me,but i'm not worried about it cuz i just love this song....
He wrote this song after getting into a fight with his wife and she state that, he will never know what it feels like to be a black woman.
This just might be my favorite song on the new album. Beautiful. It has a real Marvin Gaye vibe to it.
Robin Thicke's voice makes all the girls clothes come off.
