Robert Palmer - Through It All There's You Lyrics

You know the future will soon be past
Climb on first, get off last
I'm trying to push my stake to my hips
Where I'll feel the benefit

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Grinning like a break
Focusing my way
I'm trying to push my stake to my hips
Where I'll feel the benefit

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Grinning like a break
Focusing my way
There's a place I know we can take
Make you want, make you want the rest of it

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Future will soon be past
Climb on first, get off last
There's a place I where we can take
Make you want the rest of it

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Makes you want to
Put your finger to it
Ho

Hey hey grinning like a break
Focusing my way
There's a place I know, we can take
Make you want the rest of it

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Through it all there's you, baby
Through it all there's you, girl

Grinning like a break
Focusing my way
There's a place I know, where we can, we can take
Make you want the rest of it

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you
Loving me girl

Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Loving me girl
Through it all there's you
Loving me baby
Through it all there's you you you
Loving me baby

You know future will soon be past
Climb on first and get off last
I'm trying to push my stake to my hips
Where I'll feel the benefit

Through it all there's you
Through it all there's you

  2. G.... H....

Jagger, Mercury, Bowie ,Rod Stewart ..Forget them, Palmer moved like a panther on stage

  3. b.... c....

Stood right next to him as he performed in KC in '75 at a bar. The stage was just in the corner on the same floor as the audience. This album is mastery start to finish. The Sneakin' Sally trilogy may be the best of all time. Name another trilogy that you have to hear every song for the whole experience. Name another trilogy at all. LOL. Get Outside is one of my "live by" songs. And Through it all there's you has a beat and lyrics you can't deny grabs you and puts you on your feet.
Great album. Thank you, Robert for your music. RIP
In my top 6 favorite albums of all time.

  4. H.... ....

Straight FIRE. Toussaint knows how to pick the perfect backing band for each song. Want some Meters? Lil Zigaboo and some Porter? Check. Lowell George? You got it. Bernard Purdie? Comin atcha. With about 10 more incredible musicians scattered throughout. The funk is thick in this masterpiece.

  5. B.... O....

Rest in Peace Dead Sexy Robert Palmer....love this recording, always have & always will. If you have YouTube on the other side, thanks for making this great music for us. It's on my personal forever soundtrack. I'm going to tell the kids to play it at my funeral party.

  6. G.... F....

His best album, better than pressure drop even.

    G.... F....

Greg Fox pressure drop was great. This is legendary.

  7. e.... s....

the music of the time of my life. wish your kids would listen to this kind of music today

  8. R.... G....

This track is unmistakably Bernard Purdie - a classic track for drummers to learn how to take music up or down to different levels. Such a fantastic track as a learning/teaching tool. I can remember when this came out, sitting in a flat in Chelsea transfixed and unable to leave - "Play it again, that's gotta be Purdie!"

    R.... G....

Well said Robert! I use this track as a teaching aid too. Not just for the groovy feel but especially the dynamics! This is a 'track of my life' as I've loved it since buying the album when first released.

  9. T.... ....

Amazing to discover RP songs that I haven't heard before. Like this lots.

  10. H.... R....

    Mel Collins, horns
    Mongezi, horns

    Jack Vance, strings

  11. r.... ....

I'm 99% sure that is Richie Hayward on the drums. this album is essentially Little Feat backing Robert Palmer. You can't do any better than that.

    r.... ....

  12. c.... m....

    hottest album cover ever

  13. J.... S....

So sexy. Beautiful man sadly missed.

  14. o.... ....

One of the "tracks of my life". A huge influence on my drumming this one! Not surprised that it's Pretty Purdie. First time I was exposed to triplets over four (at 11:10) - a classic fill. Rest in Peace Robert Palmer! Thanks for the posting.

  15. E.... ....

Does Purdie play on more tracks from this album?

    E.... ....

    2,4,5 & 8

  16. P.... ....

@4doctorjohn Meters are great, but only about half the album is them. This track features the incredible Bernard Purdie on drums...

    P.... ....

I think this album was Produced by Alan Toussaint , with Lowell George ,on guitar and the Meters as the backing band. Can’t get any better than that!

  17. J.... E....

The drum lines laid down in this tune and the entire album are pure Meters, the founders of funk.
