Robert Johnson - Come On In My Kitchen Lyrics

You better come on in my kitchen
Babe, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

Ah, the woman I love took from my best friend
Some joker got lucky stole her back again
You better come on in my kitchen
Baby, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

Oh-ah, she's gone
I know she won't come back
I've taken the last nickel out of her nation sack
You better come on in my kitchen
Babe, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

Oh, can't you hear that wind howl?
Oh-y', can't you hear that wind would howl?
You better come on in my kitchen
Babe, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

When a woman gets in trouble everybody throws her down
Lookin' for her good friend none can be found
You better come on in my kitchen
Baby, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

Winter time's comin' hit's gon' to be slow
You can't make the winter, babe
That's dry long so
You better come on in my kitchen
'Cause, it's goin' to be rainin' outdoors

there's something very interesting about the way this sounds because it is so old and literally just Robert and his guitar

That song with that pictures makes me remember the house of my late grandma` in a rainy evening!

  6. G.... S....

Esta música junto com essas imagens me faz lembrar da casa da minha finada avó em dia de chuva! kkkkkkk' XD XD

  7. S.... B....

I have all 42 so his song on two disk and a complete history in writing da box date is 1937 ...would like to sell it

  8. T.... W....

Robert Johnson recorded a second version of 'Come On In My Kitchen' - faster with a more aggressive bottleneck sound.

  9. K.... B....

Blues is not about singing and feeling better
It's about making people feel just as bad as you do♡

  10. M.... N....

Robert Johnson got me interested in guitar back when I was mostly a drummer. I've been playing a lot of slide guitar lately while nursing my injured ring finger. Johnson's haunting tune was rattling around in my head on a rainy morning before work so I recorded this on my little Washburn R320SWRK parlor guitar using my phone.

So as most of you know Robert Johnson was the one the movie Cross Roads was about. I did some research to see if there was any truth to the origin of the legend of him selling his soul to the devil to be able to play the guitar. As it turns out the truth is Robert Johnson had been playing gigs with some local musicians down in Mississippi, some of the people he played with said he was not much good. Robert then disappeared from the music seen all together and returned after several months had passed. We Robert came back to the music circuit the 2nd time the people that were interviewed that played with him said he plaid like a new man, excellent, and was much better than before.

A “Nation Sack”/ Nature sack was a love spell, specifically a 19th century Hoodoo spell used exclusively by women to capture and enslave men and/or keep them faithful.
The Hoodoo spell originated in and around Memphis, Tennessee and the word “Nation” is actually a cultural dialect pronunciation of Nature sack. It was a charm bag traditionally made of red flannel and contained Coins used as part of the spell to represent the years between her age & his, herbs, roots, curios, and a few of the man’s personal concerns for whom it is made for. It was carried by a hoodoo woman for as long as she wanted to keep the man. The spell was broken by removing items from it, thus the confident line -
    "Oh-ah, she's gone
I know she won't come back
I've taken the last nickel out of her nation sack".
    Because he broke the spell.

    F.... ....

Agreed.but this is from Africa, this magic form.....those sacks work....be careful...

  28. J.... M....

According to Staffan Solding in the radio show Mera Blues, this session was recorded in a house with a very simple recording equipment. It is a one-take recording on wax, and you can actually hear a woodpecker interfering with the guitar at 0:30, 1.30, 1:42 and 2:42, not to mention other picking noises, blurred by the guitar.

    Elle est partie
    Je sais que c'est fini
    J'ai pris le dernier sou
    De son sac de magie
    Hoodoo.

  62. Y.... O....

So strange, you can see the number "666" on the little building (above the two men). In 0:51 We see the same number at 1:18.

    Y.... O....

Yep. Nothing creepy or bone chilling about Robert Johnson.... It's pure gold, but also can't help but feel a little uneasy and superstitious when I listen to him

    Y.... O....

666 was a tonic that you could get your vitamins. It was an advertisement but 666 is not Good no way. Creepy indeed. They don't sell it anymore. I have not sold it in years

  63. d.... k....

They say he sold his soul to the devil to just play the blue, no joke look it up.

    d.... k....

You can't sell your soul because it belongs to God. It's just a figure of speech because when you make a deal with the devil you drive a wedge between you and God but it's never too late to repent

  64. T.... P....

  76. C.... W....

The vibrato on his voice and slide matches so well it indeed, it is spine chilling

  78. J.... W....

\/\/0\/\/ Mr Robert Johnson really does set out, in My opinion the ''Blues standards''. His Voice is Gravely, rustic and Soul reaching just to title with a few. The Guitar work He is amongst is unique as a Vegan shopping at your local Butcher, really difficult too replicate. Even when You achieve the playing of the Notes, finding that distinctive especial sound near impossible. Mr Robert Johnson is an Innovator, a scholar (Musically) and I am only guessing but consider Him a rough tough though still polite Gentleman,(''."),

I have a shite load of respect for those who partake in the consumption of Plant-Life solely. As long as they realise Plants and all Vegetation are an entity of energy too, so just as us they do exist and deserve respect.)'

I played this on my guitar when my woman left me, didn't solve anything, but it was damn therapeutic! (G tuning, of course)

    F.... P....

Or was the recording sped up? 😱

  86. M.... ....

It’s unfortunate that there is no video of Robert Johnson to this day.

  87. A.... C....

My source of inspiration to play the guitar! Although I am wondering, does anyone know if he tuned his guitar way up high? Or did he happen to use a capo while recording this? I can play it but I wanna play it to its original tuning in this song :)
