I got into hip hop back in the day, like 1986 and then around the late 80's and early 90's artists like Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Gangstarr, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Moon, Jeru The Damaja ect used jazz samples in their music. A new era in rap music had dawned and with it my interest in jazz music was sparked. So when it became time to buy my first jazz album fate led me to the. Miles Davis classic A Kind of Blue. So I gotta give props to this tune man!
