Robbie Williams - The Postcard Lyrics
I don't remember receiving your postcard
I never got much post so it shouldn't have been too hard
You were on holiday with your school in some French town
And while you were away I took Debbie to The Crown
I found a photograph of me and Kimberly
I found your postcard and I put it on the wall
I found your picture you know tears were bound to fall
I didn't write you songs when we were going out
So why should I start now you are not about
I feel as though the past is closing in on me
I found a photograph of me and Kimberly
We'd walk home from the pub ‘cause we were always broke
So when your mother called and said that you were dead
I thought she's talking of another Kim instead
I feel as though the past is closing in on me
I found a photograph of me and Kimberly
She said it seemed you accidentally overdosed
It was so long since I talked to her and once we were so close
And I am left with all these things I didn't say
And a picture of you in my arms the day you went away
I feel as though the past is closing in on me
I found a photograph of me and Kimberly
I feel as though the past is closing in on me
I found a photograph of me and Kimberly

Robbie Williams The Postcard Comments
Please people, if you like this song, listen to the original performed by the song writer, they very talented Duffy.

the original version is better : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rg6UquSPXY
You realize this is a cover right? It's quite a good cover, but the original is better. The video for the original only has something like 20 views. It's even better than this.
It's quite sad most people know the song from only this version. The lyric means nothing personally to Robbie Williams, they mean the world to Stephen. Heart breaking.
TheVoodoofuzz why does it matter it means nothing to Robbie? He gave the emotion and sang it beautifully because he has the voice. And yes I listened the original too. Im not underestimating Stephen, I think it is a beautiful song but Robbie's voice fits much better. By the way my all time favourite album is Intensive Care, the one he wrote with Duffy.
Nice vocal
Beautiful simple song. I need no more words to express what I feel.
Love Robbies voice
stephen duffys better

sorry, i disliked this song just by an accident!
i like it.
This is Stephen Duffy's song (and presumably, his autobiographical narrative too). He wrote the song and performed it originally on "I Love My Friends". Give that woefully under-recognised songwriter credit.
Robbie is one of the greatest entertainer of our time. He shows it every time again and again
This is one of my favourite songs, because of how softly he sings, but how sincerely he sings it! Beautiful.
