if ever there were a song about me both as my life and musically, it is this one.

this song goes out to everyone I have ever known, especially my wife, family and friends.

...many great versions, but it's Robben Ford's most beautiful and CREATIVE (the thing I value the most musically) Guitar tones and textures. self taught but Robben Ford's record were all the guitar teachers around. The guy is a Genius.

to me a Masterclass in Guitar Phrasing, Tone, Dynamics, Melody, Timing, the other big one to me that Dad taught me - - leaving space for the other musicians and also letting the notes have a life.

The very first 3 notes may be the most beautiful thing I have ever heard and a masterclass in pitch bending, bending his first note to the right pitch musically, the subtle and perfect vibrato on the third note...and it sounds so beautiful and vocal-like - authentic. A master class in SOUL, timing and vibrato. Robben taught me that a clean, slightly over-driven guitar sounds the best. I love this track because it taught me how to properly bend strings to pitch as many guitar players under-bend.

this song is bittersweet to me...the sad and frustrating lyrics are about me 100% but the music is one of the greatest things I ever studied, musically.

that is the enigma for me, that I always have been and always will be so misunderstood. But perhaps that feeling is what gives the notes a life.

this track by the one-of a kind and still one of my biggest guitar heroes Robben Ford may have what i would submit as the greatest guitar solo's of all-time, especially the second one at fade-out

There have been many a smoky nights listening to this song in college back a few decades. That solo is still the most soulful i've ever heard from the most sophisticated guitar player ever. Listen to the phrasing.

The most sophisticated guitar player ever? I think you need to widen your listening experience. I suggest you listen to some of the great jazz players.

This thing of "The most" it is just personal. Exist many and many guitarists splendid e the Roben is one of these. He is "The Guy"... superb sophisticatedly! In the moment that I listen to this music it is the best of the world. I like so much.

I'm always blown away by Robben's feel and TONE! This is a brilliant interpretation of this song by a brilliant artist! If there was a Mt. Rushmore for guitarists Mr. Ford would surely be on it!
