Robben Ford - Bound For Glory Lyrics
Say goodbye to your
Little underdog
No more run and catch
Things you throw my way
Take good care of yourself
We're bound for glory
But there's a price to pay
Not that you care you'll find me
By the riverside
Baptize the maker where the
Water is clear and wide
Like a smokers cough
Please don't kid yourself
Now's the time to stop
The climb is high
But the air is clean
We're bound for glory
Just let the covers drop
I'll be celebrating
By the riverside
Baptize the maker where the
Water is clear
And nowhere left to hide
Down by the riverside
I'll be celebrating
By the riverside
Baptize the maker where the
Water is clear
And nowhere left to hide
Down by the riverside

Got a bit of that Joe Walsh vibe to it.. Awesome song :)
I THINK ROLL ME UP AND SMOKE ME IS A LITTLE MORE REALISTIC!!!
He's not just the foremost tasty chop king but a fantastic songwriter, it's lovely to hear him doing something new and it really pays off.
ok continua ok ok allinfinito
Mad professor twimble pedal! Excellent
Read guitar player mag march issue....r ford seems pumped..etc...nashville..move..amps...songs..pog...new house.....good luck..rf..
The string definition on those rhythm tracks. Jeepers.
it looks a lot like the old titles of steely dan
perfect, brilliant, the most contemporary sounding album of robben ... lots of contemporary rock
Best song on the album.
it's so beautiful! outstanding tune!
I hear just a hint of Beatles influence, it sounds great.
I do not why, but this tune reminds me George Harrison. Love it
Beautiful song, can't wait to hear the whole album!! Thanks for sharing this video!
Oh shit yessssss,,,,,,
Jesus. I love RF's playing so much but this looks like just one more sucky album. His live hard blues work is unbeatable. And his accompaniment of others, even more so. But he sure is prone to writing crap songs
Then just wait for the guitar solo no need to be so harsh man
He's written a lot good songs, imo.
@strat cat71 for sure he's just a crazy good, insanely tasteful player. I've been a hardcore fan for like four decades. But, being totally honest he is a pretty mediocre songwriter. It kind of reminds me of, of all people, Bonnie Raitt. She was such a great player and performer but aside from a few okay tracks (her best were covers), it took her years and many albums before she consistently wrote good songs. I just think back on how I was so excited when a new RF album dropped, then realized after a few listens that only a couple of tracks were really worth digging into. Definitely not trying to be harsh, just call 'em as I see 'em
Yeah Robben.... always delivers....
Enjoyed that cheers
It's all in his finger attack
Yeah, whatever the guitar, Robben is Robben!
Totally agree, man. You can play his own stuff but skills are not included 👍
You can tell how moving to Nashville has effected his song writing.
I agree with you 100% Robert
Definitely the best track on the album
If I were Robben's digital promotions consultant I would choose a vastly different approach, this is somewhat diluted, there is not much to grab a hold of. Great playing as always, but strange choice of material
You are right Michael! Great playing but for me something is missing!
Maybe for guitar addicts, but Robben is concentrating on songs these days.
This sounds like it’s going to be a great album.
Best guitar sound I ve heard for years !
É ÓTIMO, MUITO BOM"
From his angle I think this will give him more mainstream appeal for sure
Me...I wouldn’t want to listen to this track again
BOA MÚSICA. ABRAÇO"
In the words of Guthrie Govan: "You will never, ever sound like Robben Ford." ;-)
Funny. Where did he say that?
Guthrie told a story of having shared a stage with Robben, and they jammed on one of Robben's tunes which Guthrie knew intimately, including the guitar and amp Robben had used on the record. Well, that night on stage Robben was using a different guitar and different amp, and yet still sounded exactly the way he had on the original recording, because his sound (this is a truism for players in general) comes from his playing, not from his gear. In any case, it was at that moment, on stage, that Guthrie had that epiphany that, try as one might, one could never, ever sound like Robben. ;-)
I don't know if Guthrie said that but I've seen Ford many times, especially when he was younger. Even then he had the kinds of phrasing he's become known for. At a small venue in northern CA about a million years ago, a friend of mine (may he rest in peace) was on stage with his band; they were opening for Robben, who arrived early as they were closing out their set with an acoustic guitar encore and Robben asked to sit in. This was the first time I ever saw him play acoustic and it was all there, every stinking bit of what makes him what he is. Anyone could've come in blind folded and picked him out by that phrasing alone.
Edit:
Haha so true! :)
@RonPaul Revered He said it in one of his videos where someone asks him how to sound like Robben Ford. Easily found right here on YouTube.
