it was a pretty big song in the 80's, and every time I heard that very short clip in "The Same River", I knew I had heard it before. I knew it was 80's song, an AOR type band, probably a one hit wonder and that it was part of a chorus. I tried to google stuff like "80's song with "Everywhere" in the chorus and got some hits but it was never the right song. I also at first thought it was Bryan Adams but I realized it wasn't his voice.on that particular word. Once I started thinking of Bryan Adams, I remembered he did background vocals on some Canadian band's one-hit wonder song. Then it was a matter of remembering the band name...
I only discovered Riverside last year (right after Piotr passed away - the Love, Fear and the time machine album was playing in a record store I was in one day and I bought it that day and went back and discovered the rest). From the first time I heard "The Same River", that clip was driving me crazy trying to figure out what it was :)

gks33 I tried looking for Bryan Adams songs but I never found it. I'm just not familiar with him enough to have known that he collaborated with other 80's AOR type bands.

I totally agree John. There are presently many awesome Prog metal bands but Riverside's sound is unusual and any real music listener would agree on that!

Yes : To Be Over is a great song but doesn't hit me right in the feels like Riverside did.

...do you want opinions?...ok..here you are....there is no comparison between the songs you have just mentioned and Riverside's 'The same river' because The same river stands very high for the others to reach in every possible way...'The same river' is a flood of emotions received through the ultimate fragile gate humans possess which is their soul while the 'To be over' by yes is a song I mainly "received" through my ears.As about the raven who refused to sing is too sad and repetitive to even consider it a good song...all this is my opinion...what will you do now?...will you say to me too that it was a rash statement...I can say the same for you my friend...its nothing more than what our heart and soul longs to hear...and its should be respected as it is and not to be judged...
....proposing songs to others is a real adventure and its amazing when it happens while on the other hand stating that the songs you are proposing are better is another sad communication inadequacy...

Although  I listened some of their music with my friend before,I didn't get it then...after some time  I accidently played one of the songs from the album  "Out of myself"...and the feeling was real and spontaneously natural...I adore this band and the sound:)

Not the best lyrics but the instrumentation is outstanding.

This was the first song from Riverside I ever heard, and I had never listened to any song of this genre before. It almost scared me and sent shivers down my spine because I found it so damn 'dark' and moody. However, that didn't keep me from loving the song!
