Riverside - Acid Rain Lyrics

[Part I - Where Are We Now?]

I'm your lie
I am your pretending
I'm the cause
Of your shame and anger

I'm your crime
Swept under the carpet
Your vanity
With all consequences

Living a distorted day
Distorted life
In an uncertain place without the sun
Where are we now?

Living in a fallen land
With fallen minds
In an uncertain place without the sun
Where are we now?
What have we done?

I'm your sloth
I am your aversion
Intolerance
I'm your private wasteland

Living a distorted day
Distorted life
In an uncertain place without the sun
Where are we now?

Living in a fallen land
With fallen minds
In an uncertain place without the sun
Where are we now?

Living a distorted day
Distorted life
In an uncertain place without the sun

Where are we now?
What have we done?
Where are we now?
Who have we become?

[Part II - Dancing Ghosts]

We've been waiting for brighter days
How could we've known we were happy?

Dancing ghosts
Singing ghosts

Where are we now?

Dancing ghosts
Singing ghosts

  7. kevjards

Love this track. After the 3 minute mark it reminds me of Frankie goes to Hollywood. Not sure why?

  8. Ata Öztürk

We're playing Curse of Strahd quest with my dnd party and I can't get this song out of my head.

  9. Michel Krummenacher

Some Songs just get you from the first seconds...

  10. David Groll-Cook

I hope they keep their touring guitarists as a new member of the band. He’s good.

  11. Dennis Radaelli

I accidentally put the speed on 1x25. HOLY SHIT

  12. Aguapanela con limon

    Me encanta esta canción.

  13. GIOVANNI SIMEOLI

    Very niceeee

  14. Tomasz Michał Ziółkowski

Super album . Szkoda tylko że mało mocnego uderzenia w bębny. Piotrek na pewno wolałby mocniej przywalić znając jego upodobania muzyczne .

  15. esiomoreira

Guitar track is very Gilmourish. Nice!

  16. Piotr Balasiewicz

This text is so much current today in Poland...
Ten tekst jest tak bardzo aktualny dzisiaj w Polsce...

  17. midibenni

    Beautiful Album, very good sound

  18. TheNezzzzzz

with their PF tribute I wonder if this song has any relation to Liquid Tension Experiment - Acid Rain. This song is certainly more mellow, but there may be some background melodies they use... I want to say I heard some similarity. Great song on its own either way.

  19. SanskritFritz

    Simply amazing.

  20. Bumblebee Me

AMAZING BAND!!! I cannot get enough of it!!! xoxo

    Kate Murphy

Bumblebee Me I thought the same thing yesterday.

  21. Aleks Maik

The ending reminds mi of Opeth's "Faith in Others"

    momen

    bro....... Same here.......

  22. Stargazer82

9 people got devoured by Acid Rain. :D

  23. dabram a

brilliant piece especially during live concerts - great interaction with funs - thank you Riverside 4:13

  24. Adam Fowler

Without Riverside, life would be a mistake.

    Kostas RHOdes

Relax, we're not talking about tool or porcupine tree.

    Adam Fowler

Kostas RHOdes What do you mean by that?

    Andy Rock

@Adam Fowler He meant in a passive-aggressive manner that Riverside is not as good as Tool or Porcupine Tree. Just another one of those trolls.

    Joe hawley gaming

    subtle nietzsche reference

  25. Marie

    Fucking love this!

  26. *ظ ́ ́ʇ ́ ́ظ*

Awesome sound. The singing style just don't fit. It's a bit phlegmatic ballad style.

  27. Marcus Bengtson

    Their best release to date!

  28. Omair Sheikh

The actual song starts around the 3 minute mark. That should have been 6 minute song, with more of a build up and maybe melodic guitar and keyboard solos. That would have been a better song.

    Rick Grootenzerink

nah man its an fucking great song

  29. Ramin Rahnema

3:00 onwards is hands down the best part of the album

    talkingviolin

Funny thing considering is one of the few bits that was not composed by Duda alone. Really interested to see more writing by Lapaj.

    MultiKmicic

Where are you now = Wish You Were Here

    Ramin Rahnema

talkingviolin based on that base guitar riff I could have sworn it was duda’s work..

    talkingviolin

According to the booklet, "Dancing Ghosts" was written by both Duda and Lapaj, along with "Dystopia". On the other half, "The Night Before" was written by Lapaj and Duda wrote the lyrics.

    Omair Sheikh

Lapaj should always be writing more. He's been working on his solo album for a while. Interested to see how that sounds

  30. msptagny

Niedocenieni, a przecież najlepsi w PL ! Szacun Panowie !

    Marcin Dyjak

@msptagny to nie jest muzyka dla każdego :) i dobrze

    msptagny

otóż to, a szkoda, bo wartościowa

    Robert Chwiałkowski

    @msptagny Kto to jest Martyniuk?

    msptagny

He he !  A to dobre jest akurat :)

    Johnny Doe

Nie są niedoceniani. Pogódź się z faktem że prog rock to nie Podsiadło (z całym szacunkiem dla niego).

  31. 3koparka3

We’ve been waiting for brighter days
How could we’ve known we were happy....

  32. ἁptός

    Ελληνας είσαι?

    ἁptός

    Μπράβο ρε φίλε <3

    Kostas RHOdes

    Χαιρεται απο Ροδο !

  33. zmor68

    My favourite on 'Wasteland'

    Grzegorz JÓZEFIAK

    The Best of this album

    Darth Floersche

most accessible. Lament, Struggle for survival, river down below are imho more exiting.

  34. Tomasz Wołoszyn

Love, love, fucking love this song!

    Anthony Davella

@sandorx4 fuck off. Negative whiney poser

    Naveed

@sandorx4 I agree with you, I felt the exact same... and mind you I also attended their Wasteland tour where they opened with this song. It starts so fucking badass and halfway through changes into weird un-necessary singalong... okey.jpg

    Anthony Davella

@Naveed I got tickets for may

    Kate Murphy

    Tomasz Wołoszyn Bless you.

    Cheximus

@sandorx4 if you don't like that bass line then you're dead inside. Not everything needs to be brutal and/or depressing. It's still in a minor key, but sounds uplifting all the same. I know how you feel though, I feel the same about new Opeth.
