Ringo Starr - Beaucoups Of Blues Lyrics

I left louisian, i had me big plans
To go out and take me all over this land.
To see me the world, i left my sweet girl
And gave it a whirl but now here i stand,
Along side the road with holes in my soul and my shoes
And beaucoups of blues.

Oh, sweet magnolia,
Breath carried over the marsh by a breeze from the gulf.
I'm coming home, (coming home)
I've had me enough.

Oh, where are the things i saw in my dreams?
Where's the happy that freedom should bring?
I see me today and know yesterday
That i threw away my most precious things.
I see me a man who's lonely, wants only to lose
Beaucoups of blues.

Oh, sweet magnolia,
Breath carried over the marsh by a breeze from the gulf.
I'm coming home, (coming home)
I've had me enough.
I'm coming home, (coming home)
I've had me enough.

  5. D.... N....

The great Pete Drake on steel slide guitar

    D.... N....

I think that was Ben Keith on the Dobro

  6. M.... P....

"I see me a man who's lonely, wants only to lose." Oh i know this feeling so well but so well that i see myself in this song.

  7. a.... o....

    Produced by Pete Drake

  8. R.... ....

sounds like the Jordanaires behind him..

    R.... ....

You're right, that is the Jordanaires! No mistaking that harmony!

  9. N.... G....

    my grandfather wrote this

What I was thinking, good ole country song

  16. j.... ....

Has anyone ever covered this song??

  17. J.... ....

My favorite Beatle. Love this song, didn't remember it being country sounding. 😀😀

    J.... ....

Ringo always like country and went to Nashville and did an album in three days.

  18. a.... n....

the background voices sound like Elvis. i never had this album. i've only bought the 'Ringo' because it was the 1st time all 4 ex-Beatles appeared on an album. and Goodnight Vienna & Blast fr the Past.

    a.... n....

it's really the 'Without Her' song that i noticed it on, but then i was listening to this and the same voices are there.

  19. G.... M....

the cover photo is perfect...can u imagine being him and the beatles just broke up....."what the fuck am i going to do now?"....i am screwed...but by 1974 his solo career was far more successful then john lennon's....but by 1975 it went into the toilet for ringo and he was a drunken bum for decades...the thing that saved him...the beatles anthology and his all star concerts...he stopped the boozing and got healthy...

    G.... M....

I´m very sorry for the dark episode you tell about Ringo since 1975...I did'nt know about it. But the important thing is Ringo is in well health at his age ..... we dont know if we will be in the same condition at 70 years old. God bless Ringo

  20. K.... L....

I don't get it when people criticize Ringo's vocals. It's true he didn't have the range of Paul or John but he has a really rich tone. His voice is well suited to golden oldies & country.

  21. t.... b....

This sounds like something that Jim Reeves would sing

  22. b.... f....

I've always loved Ringo's singing, with the Beatles and beyond .

    b.... f....

I don't like him using autotune nowadays

  23. a.... c....

"Beaucoups of Blues", 1970, Ringo 's 1st solo album, (except for Sentmental Journey album for his Mum.) with Ringo's beloved country music and some of Nashville's best session "cats". www.beatlely.wordpress.com

  24. a.... ....

Ringo was always a country boy at heart.  Very good album.

    a.... ....

I've been to Toxteth and it ain't the country, princess park is just down the road from his old house, but there's no cows or barns or anything like that.

Ringo dňa 30. júna 1970 odletel do USA, kde v Nashville začal nahrávať album Beacoups Of Blues.Piesne pre Ringa napísali špičkoví autori z oblasti country a western hudby a album produkoval Pete Drake.

  26. L.... G....

I can't understand... why is Ringo so underestimated? I love all of his albums and I think he sings very well. My favourite ones are 2012, Goodnight Vienna, Bad Boy, Stop and Smell the Roses and Ringo. I'm 14.

  27. J.... L....

The male backup vocals on this track "Beaucoups of Blues" are none other than The Jordanaires -- legendary backup vocalists on many early Elvis Presley classic records of the 50's. Ringo knew what he was doing.

  28. A.... Q....

I always thought that Ringo would have been a successful country singer.

  29. M.... ....

He should go back and do another country album.

    M.... ....

He is - Give More Love on September 15th 2017

    M.... ....

Listen to his new album Give Me Love it has some on it and also has a couple songs with Paul

  30. G.... N....

"Beaucoup" is a French word how means "A lot" in English , very good song !

  31. l.... ....

Beaucoup Of Blues (1970) is one of Ringo Starr's finest solo albums but not the one to start with if you wish to discover Ringo's solo discography.

    l.... ....

    Is 'Sentimental Journey' the first?

  32. T.... ....

    well done Ring!:)

  33. S.... P....

this is a great tune done very well

  34. D.... L....

sounds a bit like Buck Owens

  35. Q.... E....

man he is the one who play the guitar!!!!

  36. a.... ....

Proof that each and everyone of the Beatles was an artist in his own right! their solo careers testify.

  37. T.... ....

this was completely set up for him...all was done and all he did was put his voice to it...bloody beautiful...

  38. P.... M....

Ringo's voice sounds perfect here. Perfectly suited to this style. Well done Rings.

  39. g.... ....

Excellent album ... as well as ,,Birds,, Lp ,,Sweetheart of the Rodeo,,
....I like country music in this way

  40. D.... M....

Yes, another under rated album. I still think that ALL the Beatles 1st. solo albums were their best work. They were breaking ground and experimenting in their own ways. McCartney's first 2 albums are great. Lennon's 1st, blows peoples minds. Harrison's, All Things Must Pass, is excellent. Even when they first broke up it was an exciting time in music because they were going in different directions.

  41. j.... e....

A great undrratted album featuring many of Nashvilles greats including the four Jourdaniires who also backed Elvis.

  42. M.... W....

    this is greatt

  43. 1.... ....

It was always said that Ringo couldn't sing ...
I think he sang quite well on this album.
I also thought that his voice was doing well on the album "Sentimental Journey".

  44. K.... B....

Sure,Ringo never made it in country. But compared to a lot of the "Poop Shootin' Boogie" stuff that passes as country today, this was classic stuff, indeed

  45. z.... ....

Thanks for posting - Ringo is Fantastic and I love this song.

    Hugs
