Rimes, LeAnn - Faded Love Lyrics
As I look at the letters that you wrote to me
It's you that I am thinking of
As I read the lines that to me were so dear
I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more every day
With every heartbeat I still think of you
And remember our faded love.
As I think of all the pleasures we had
As I watch the mating of the dove
It was in the springtime that you said goodbye
And I remember our faded love
I miss you darlin' more and more every day
As heaven would miss the stars above
With every heartbeat I still think of you
And remember our faded love.

Any man that would leave her is a fool.
My favorite country song by the most beautiful woman (inside and out) in the world. Wonderful!!!!
She has the best voice right now in the music industry and not getting the recognition she deserves her private life is her own business there are no perfect people in this world but she's got the most beautiful voice she needs a new manager because I can't believe the people out there that have more money than she does and their voice cannot compare something is wrong in the music industry
Haunting melody. You can feel the sadness. 😢
I think if she’d have had different guidance, she could have been the best of all time.
Can you imagine her doing this in a duet with Patsy Kline?

This is stunning version of a great song with the most beautiful singer in the world.
To me, LeAnn IS Love.
I truly adore her.
No one else can sing so many songs with beauty so magical as LeAnn does.
One beautiful woman, so perfect in so many ways.
Why compare her to anyone else?
LeAnn is perfection to me.
LeAnn sings it beautifully I love this song it should be your proudest moment when it played in America
Faded Love is the National Anthem of Western Swing Music, gentlemen take there hats off to pay homage here in Texas dances and festivals. This tune was originally a instrumental played by Bob Wills' father John. The melody came from a Civil War tune, Nelly Gray. Lyrics were added later by Bob's brother Billy Jack Wills the tune made famous by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. Many entertainers and the list is a long one have played and performed this tune. Simply it's too good not to....LeAnn and Patsy both have done a wonderful job of presenting this tune and so has Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Elvis and many more. The first recording of this tune wasn't done by Tommy Duncan it was Rusty McDonald.
Paula, I have known, and sung this tune for years and never knew that it predated Bob Wills. So I tried Nelly Gray, and sure enough...same tune. Thanks for the information.
One of the things that Bob was noted for was rearranging a tune and making it swing...many of his tunes were done in this manner. He also, wrote lyrics to them or had lyrics added, as Billy Jack did on this one. Your welcome.
Also, Asleep at the Wheel, several times!
Where would this music be without those that carry it forward.....

Stop comparing Leanne to Patsy . People will be listening to both when we are long forgotten dust . Enjoy the timeless beauty of both artists
well put.
Amen. I have yet to hear any version of this song that isn't worth listening to.
your so right boys love em all
Hey john you need to watch your mouth and get an education. This is an open forum where we all can voice our opinion without having some kid tell us to stop. We did it this way because so many here on youtube are always telling us that patsy is better than everyone so we try to hit her back.
john rahn I like your attitude.
❤️ this singer and song🎤
leanne rimes what a voice brilliant sings realy well and every other song leanne
Everyone here is comparing the two versions, so here's my two cents. The Patsy version is in color and the LeAnn version is in black and white. There's something 'organic' and 'magic' about Patsy's version.
I'm sorry if I offended some fans, but that's the way I hear it. They're both incredibly talented, but for this song, there's a clear winner in my book.
We now return you to the 24 hour Justin Bieber channel of soulful songs! (jk lol)
+The22on Patsy owns it. LeAnn tries to sound like Patsy.
+UncleMike43 LeAnn does more than TRY to replicate the great songs that Patsy Cline recorded in her unfortunate short life. I've been to 12 LeAnn Rimes Concerts over the years and there is no other singer who can come close to replicating any version of a Patsy Cline song like LeAnn does. At every Concert that LeAnn sings any of Patsy's songs LeAnn gives the most respectable tribute to the great talent Patsy Cline had. LeAnn just does a wonderful job of singing Patsy Cline's songs.
I agree, I think tribute artist do just that pay tribute. Jason Roberts who played Bob Wills in Asleep at the Wheels "Ride with Bob" did a wonderful job with that play and today at all of the festivals who do Bob Wills tunes he leads off I'm not Bob I'm in Awe.
When I look at the letters that you wrote to me
It's you that I am thinking of

And it was in the springtime that we said goodbye

The power of LeAnn, or the precision of Patsy Cline? Or Tommy Duncan's original version? It's all good. I own like 60 versions of Faded Love, each has it's own flair. Each artist puts their own personal spin on this tune, and I love them all. The Elvis version is about what you would expect from The King, but Bob Gifford's heavy blues guitar version is one of the most memorable. I had to listen to it about 10 times before I started hearing how it really is Faded Love. I'm a Texan, grew up out there by Turkey TX where Bob Wills was from, used to go to Bob Wills Day in Turkey when I was in high school. This song is in my soul and in my head like few others I could name. It is a part of my life.
Just what a beautiful job LeAnn did on this Patsy Cline song. I've been to 12 LeAnn Rimes concerts over the years and have never been disappointed. LeAnn's a beautiful young lady that gives her all at her concerts you just want to go back and hear more. She's one of the best ever!
+Milton Williams Patsy Cline song? It's a Bob Wills song long before patsy did a re-make.
Well that's something I didn't know. I never heard Bob Wills perform, thought it was a Patsy Cline song originally.
+Milton Williams Bob Wills wrote it and had a top ten hit with it in 1950. In Texas, Bob Wills is still the king. He was a big band/western swing band from the 30's to about 1970. huge from the 30's to the 60's. He's still on the radio here.
+TexanUSMC8089 In 1950 I was 3 years old and was not yet listening to the radio. There is no doubt Bob Wills wrote a beautiful song and LeAnn just did a wonderful version of Faded Love. He must be getting up in age by now.
what the hell are you guys talking about patsy cline? you know this is a bob wills song right

bob would be proud
liked her a lot of years she is is a great artist love her singing
i don't fault her for trying here; but this one will always belong to patsy cline IMO.
The only woman that comes close to Patsy Cline. Love 'em both.
Rusty35081 Ever since she came on the scene, I always felt like she had that certain Patsy Cline something.
Idk what yall are talking about. She sings it in her true LeAnn way! Its beautiful
No one does it like Patsy.......but this is very, very nice, never-the-less...sing on LeAnn, sing on.
This is far better than Patsy. Get over it.
LeAnn Rimes and Patsy Cline are of my favorite singers, whom sing this song. Timeless, and both capture the beauty of the song.
YES patsy and LeAnn..wow...Very Nice....thay should sing like this all the time!!!!
bob would be proud
The best. Better then Patsy.
+CaptainArt777 Get the fuck out
+Taylor “Jessicuh” Alaimo Your post showed all adults here what kind of person you are. Uneducated low life. No point having a debated with you, you don't have the brains to understand. We won't respond to your child like behavior. Oh, the guys here all said you have to grow up but we realize it won't help you.
Woah. Cool. You commented because why, then?
great song from the past true country
Great version!!!
I don't blame LeAnn Rimes, I'd just like to shoot the 'everything including the kitchen sink' producer. A beautiful song, absolutely murdered. Try The Glasers, Or Ray Price and Willie.
Geoff - you're an idiot. Through out the history of Country Music, Rock & Roll and numerous other genres of music artists have covered other artists songs. It's common practice. If you don't like the way an artists sings someone else's song, then don't listen to it. LeAnn didn't murder this song, she performed it as good or better than a some of the others.
Beautiful song and great voice nice video. thanks for sharing
The best version EVER!!!!!!!!
Faded love? He said he NEVER loved me. What a waste.........
Would be nice if they "pupmped" Patsy's version up so it had more up to date sound like they did with Nathalie Cole's Unforgetable, with her father..
One of the best singers in the business today. Very nice version of a great song.
This beautiful song was written by one the few Country artists to be in both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That would be the King of Western Swing himself, Bob Wills.
impress!!
Love Leeann Rimes!
