Ricky Skaggs - Shady Grove Lyrics

Shady Grove my little miss
Shady Grove my darling
Shady Grove my little miss
I'm going back to Harlan.

Every time I walk this road
It's always dark and cloudy
Every time I see that girl
I always tell her howdy.

If you see my little miss
If you see my darling
If you see my little miss
Tell her I'm going to Harlan...

  5. M.... ....

We will never see a group this talented again playing this style, badass times for bluegrass

  6. E.... P....

God bless Paul Brewster who has a heavy limp now 11-13-17 may he know no pain or discomfort he is with Ricky 22 years

  7. E.... P....

Doc and Earl could the combination have been created David without a blessing and support from God above?

  8. E.... P....

So many greats right here for us may ins to relish and grow happy like all of Appalachia which is God given

  9. E.... P....

    😭😔

  10. R.... J....

    kick ass grass

  11. E.... S....

Probably one of the best live bluegrass performances I've ever seen

  12. S.... G....

They sure bastardized this song - worst version I ever heard and made up lyrics - that being said - the musicians are the best in the business.

  13. S.... K....

    anybody knows its lyrics?

  14. B.... L....

This is gay as hell lmao

  15. J.... ....

Cody Kilby and Andy Leftwich are phenomenal.

    J.... ....

    @Jonathan Russell They def are!

    J.... ....

    And Stuart Duncan, of course.

    J.... ....

    Most definitely :D

    J.... ....

Ricky is and has been since childhood the greatest with much more quality to go

  16. m.... ....

Andy Leftwich and Josh Williams really make the "Thunder"  Bobby Hicks not here? Stuart Duncan in his place. mosrite60

    m.... ....

@mosrite60 Cody Kilby, Not Josh Williams.

    m.... ....

yeah Cody Kilby indeed lol ! how can you mess that up....

  17. M.... P....

  18. B.... H....

Greetings baby !!! Here is our song from back in 2008 !! I sure do miss and love you !!! All my love and prayers Brad !!!

  19. M.... T....

    Fantastic and inspiring!

    M.... T....

    break-neck pace...What!!!

    M.... T....

Martin Tallstrom that sums it up!!

  20. f.... ....

even bill monroe would  whip his foot

  21. B.... F....

AWESOME.....except for the dumb narrator talking over the performance to describe the other artists playing this 2002 event. Love Ricky, he's a great Bluegrass artist! :)

  22. R.... R....

    That's sic...

  23. I.... C....

That "fiddle player" is Stuart Duncan, who is prolly the best bluegrass fiddler there is, next to Mike Cleveland. The kid on the mando is Andy Leftwich and normally plays the fiddle. Whole band kicks a** individually and are multi-instrumentalists. I had the privilege of going to one of their shows this past spring. Had nice conversations with some of the guys after the show. That is one thing I love about bluegrass, you almost always get to chat with the performers after their shows.

    I.... C....

stuart is the best the the world. cleveland is amazing too.

    I.... C....

Say Stuart Duncan would be number two Mark O'Connor's number one fiddler in my opinion

  24. p.... ....

    fucking perfection

  25. J.... H....

The fiddle player is too fast for the camera.

  26. B.... C....

i always tell her howdy!!! yea!!!

  27. S.... ....

    Gave me chills.

  28. T.... ....

believe it or not but im related to ricky skaggs. and i love his music hope i get to meet him and shake his hand one day

  29. T.... ....

lick at 2:30! kid is sick!

  30. o.... ....

Wow. Just wow. Sends chills down my spine they are so crazy good.

  31. H.... ....

If this doesn't get your toes tappin' you better check your pulse.

  32. R.... D....

This band is just crazy good.

  33. a.... ....

    Mando break!

  34. G.... S....

    just love it

  35. T.... ....

    great toe tapper, love it

  36. S.... T....

Bluegrass is so awesome. If you don't feel like dancing or drinking while listening to five stringed instruments play heavenly sounds, you don't have a pulse.

  37. w.... v....

Ricky why don't you play one of your Martins, I feel certain you have plenty of 'em?

  38. b.... ....

    holy shit.....

  39. G.... K....

Yeah it does, check out their version of Get Up John

    watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dVhWx36GFpI

  40. n.... ....

Folks...does it get better than this,,?

  41. W.... ....

Just because it's an awesome song.

  42. S.... R....

This is one awesome bluegrass tune!

  43. J.... N....

I notice the audio is a little behind the video... is it possible they are playing faster than the speed of sound???

  44. j.... ....

what do you call a lady on a banjer players arm? a tat too

  45. J.... ....

I think Jim Mills owes the announcer money or something . . .

  46. M.... ....

@numbskullphobe well he was and still is in the band as a fiddle player primarily, him playing as a "backup" mandolin player is a bonus, i agree amazing solo, just wish they didn't ruin it with the narrorator speaking, love this version of the song

  47. B.... ....

Jim Mills is the reason I watched this video, what a waste. GREAT JAM!

  48. T.... M....

    let the banjo player play

  49. n.... ....

What absolutely blows my mind about Kentucky Thunder is that they have someone like Andy Leftwich (playing the amazing mandolin solo) as a 'backup' mandolinist - these boys have some AMAZING talent...

  50. n.... ....

@mikejar47 I gotta agree - and Jimmy is playing some sick banjo while we listen to the voice over man flapping his gums!

  51. c.... ....

    2:30 semifuse arpeggios OMG!

  52. d.... ....

    @meanlezbo lmfao

  53. E.... G....

@mcseveneyw the guy talks in both of his breaks!!! I still think his back up in this video is impeccable!

  54. B.... ....

@dondondoodle preach to the choir my friend!!!!

  55. W.... M....

jim mills doesnt get any love in this video

  56. W.... C....

    amen my brother!

  57. d.... ....

That young man to the left of Ricky can make that flat top talk! My lord, and the guy to the left of him, now thats some talent, I tell you what. I don't care who you are thats some minty fine pickin boys!

    d.... ....

dondondoodle the guitar player is Cody kilby, the mandolin player is Andy leftwich, and the fiddle player is Stuart Duncan

  58. M.... J....

What's with the narrorator?? How you gonna talk over Jimmy Mills?? What's wrong with you??

  59. L.... T....

    cool...

  60. t.... ....

Ricky, you hair looked better here.

  61. f.... ....

    yeah its terrible
