This was my great grandparents song. My great grandfather recently passed away, and they played this song at his funeral. Him and my great grandmother were married for 72 1/2 years. Known each other for 75 1/2 years. I love this song. When they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, I made them anniversary pillow in the shape of a heart, with their names in the middle, seventy years where the two halves of the heart meet at the bottom corner, in the curves of the heart, one side said faith, the other said hope. With a turtle dove above the heart in between their names.

wildhorses2014 my grandpa always sang this to my grandma (who always loved cardinals) she passed away last July. Papa went to a cookout last summer and played guitar and sang that song and a cardinal flew over his head and landed on the tree behind him. As soon as he finished the bird left. It was such a beautiful surreal moment. This song will always be one of my favorites. They were together for 65 years. With 5 kids and just short of 30 grandkids including great.

I just saw Ricky Skaggs at a Bluegrass Concert in Copper Mountain, Colorado today, Sept 4, 2011.

He sang this song and it sounded GREAT! EVERYBODY LOVED IT!

It was a beautiful, outdoor concert and there were probably 100 people out of a large audience up dancing to this song...young and old!
