If you are interested in the truth...Google cause of plane crash. There is NO mention of cocaine being found in the cabin. There were traces in their bodies which with toxicology tests prove it was not done on the plane. It was not brought down by drug use but by a faulty heater. Read the testimony. The thing that is really sad is IF the pilot had done what he should have on one of his trips back there, the NTBS said it is highly probable most if not all could have been saved! That is a tragedy..knowing they could have lived based on the evidence.
The plane was very old, JLL said he was glad to get rid of it & would never fly on it again. Cause of drug use was all over the FRONT pages of the news...after several years when the results of cause came out it was on page 7 of major papers. SAD & what BS that was.
Lucy..do not know why you bothered to come here. You have an opinion and very strong condesending attitude how Elvis was better. You are entitled. Unless you have been stoned on cocaine or have experience with friends being stoned your ASSumption of his performance is without merit. Rick Nelson was far superior to Elvis and I love Elvis too, in the respect that Rick wrote incredible music and lyrics and it was not until after his death that critics fully realized the legacy of work he left behind. He was a musician, writer composer, ..In other words the total package. Rick had trouble with cocaine off and on. This is not news....Elvis was a prescription pill addict drug user. Two wonderfully talented handsome men gone way too soon. Elvis destroyed his body with prescription drugs and Rick died in a plane crash. We all lost.

Ricky Nelson and Elvis Presley, although competitors, were good friends too. Elvis inspired Rick to get into rock and roll originally. He was out with a girl friend at about age 15. They were listening to an Elvis song,and Rick's girlfriend swooned. Ricky vowed he was going to be a rock and roll performer thereafter.
