Ricky Nelson - String Along Lyrics

String along, that's all I am is just your
String along, someone that you just seem to
Bring along, whenever you are all alone
And need some company
You always turn to me

String along, that's all I do is sorta
String along, you never seem to notice
I'm along, I just want you to want me too
Oh, how I hope and pray
That you'll need me some day

String along, that's all I am is just your
String along, someone that you just seem to
Bring along, whenever you are all alone
And need some company
You always turn to me

Treat me wrong, and maybe soon you'll lose
Your string along, someone may come and bring a
Love that's strong, and wanna string along with me
I'll find somebody who
Won't treat me like you do

String along, that's all I am is just your
String along, someone that you just seem to
Bring along

My Favorite Ricky Nelson Decca Recording. Superior To The Original Version By Fabian.

    wonderful

They almost dubbed in the actual intro to “Poor Little Fool “. This track has one of my favorite James Burton breaks. One short riff, pure, simple, but soaked in slow-mo twang. Rinse. Repeat. It’s unique—something only artists can create, and only on an electric guitar, and some say only on a Fender Telelcaster.

GREAT song from 1963 from Rick Nelson...

  14. G.... S....

A good song unleashed by Ricky when he moved from Imperial to Decca. Wasn't a big hit. Should have been!!

  15. A.... G....

    Fantástico 😃

  16. g.... ....

We have all been a string along? Right!

  17. g.... ....

I had a few string alongs who knew that their were no strings attached! It worked !

  18. J.... B....

    I love it
    Thanks.

  19. A.... D....

Even FABIAN's version (which sounds like The Muppets!) is better than this... and that's saying something :-o

    A.... D....

Get yourself a brand new pair of ears!

    A.... D....

I could not agree more. Most anything Rick touched was better than other versions which had been done. Still, he was surrounded by very talented people.

So much of our feelings are brought out with songs like this.  Reading the comments brings back the times when being young was often taken for granted,

  23. B.... M....

The rhythm kind of sounds like Poor Little Fool

    B.... M....

THE SWORD OF WRATH Exactly what I had in mind

    B.... M....

Stogie Mike Rick did that on purpose since poor little fool became hugely popular and he thought since that was a huge hit, kind of using the same kind of rhythm would make this popular too. The more popular, the more money!

    B.... M....

@Snow LepVlogs Nothing wrong with a DITTO SONG, right? Plus I get to hear James playing a great new lead!

  24. .... ....

i love this song very much

  33. J.... P....

I wanna hold your hand didn't have meaning either.

  34. e.... ....

Ricky got a very bad rap when he was looked on as just a teen idol not in the league with the Stones and Beatles etc.but just another Fabian or Frankie Avalon who were just teen idols I could never understand why there were so many people who liked what was "hip" instead of what they liked regardless of the music etc. Pre British Invasion music was often seen as childish and lacking real "meaning" I say fuck that! Ricky was a real talent and his lead guitarist James Burton who later played for Elvis was great who cares if Ricky like Elvis played rhythm guitar The last day of grade school we rushed out of school with glee looking to the summer and running down the blocks and I heard "Travelin' Man" and "School is out at last" by Gary US Bonds on teenagers driving by in cars with radio blaring back in Highbridge the Bronx I was 11 years old and was just finding the music that I would love till the day I die There would be new music I would love in the years to come but I never lost my love for Ricky and so many others from the 50s and early 60s

    e.... ....

does sound  something like "Poor Little Fool"

    e.... ....

elamite66 I agree 1000% but I prefer to him as the Prince of rock sounds so much better.

    e.... ....

    elamite66

  35. B.... C....

Good song but not a very good recording on file. Does this kind of sound like "Poor little fool"? Interesting.

    B.... C....

Both songs have the same lead in and carry that through out the song

  36. A.... V....

Rosie's Diner was in Moonachi N.J.  Nancy Walker did a paper towel commercial there. Some years later it was torn down

    A.... V....

where in NJ was it? We in  looked on northern NJ as almost part of NY my cousins lived in West NY NJ, or was it in mid Jersey or near Philly or near Easton or Trenton Being from Jersey you probably don't like north Jersey as being part of NY Sorry We did the same thing when we saw NJ or CT plates we said He (or she) can't drive! Of course there was no truth in that except suburban drivers often had trouble driving in NY and many were from NY state too

  37. r.... ....

    Excellent.
