Ricky Nelson - Hello Walls Lyrics

Hello walls
How'd things go for you today
Don't you miss her
Since she up and walked away

And I'll bet you dread to spend
Another lonely night with me
But lonely walls, I'll keep you company

Hello window
Well I see that you're still here
Aren't you lonely
Since our darling disappeared
Well look here, is that a teardrop
In the corner of your pane
Don't you try to tell me that it's rain

She went away
And left us all alone
The way she planned
Guess we'll have to learn to get along
Without her if we can

Hello ceiling
I'm gonna stare at you a while
You know I can't sleep
So won't you bear with me awhile
We must all stick together
Or else I'll lose my mind
I got a feelin'
She'll be gone a long, long time

Ricky Nelson Hello Walls Comments
  1. S.... ....

    Love Ricky Nelson!!!!!!

  2. J.... S....

Way way better than justin bieber

  3. M.... N....

    Great rendition , Rick

  4. f.... ....

I saw Ricky play at a northwest county fair. He was amazing. Ricky Nelson; so many hits, and his band! Singing the line from "Garden Party", "You can't please everyone so you got to please yourself". It was real. Loved it.

  5. R.... ....

Both Rick..and Elvis ..had a LOT of great songs...that came out in the mid 60's..(this is from an album from '66...Bright Lights and Country Music)...but at the time...all the radio DJs wanted to play was...the Beatles..and other British groups..or just Motown... so, both Rick and Elvis ...hardly got any airplay at all during the mid sixties..

    R.... ....

Yeah, it was a shame that we could not have heard all of their output: Ricky, Elvis, etc. and radio could have also played their new singers alongside that great music that they so shunned. The greatest singers bar none, came up through the 50's and there is nobody even close with singing voices like Elvis, Ricky, Johnny Tillotson, Ral Donner, Roy Orbison, Cliff Richard, just to name a few. I was never a Beatles fan, I always considered them a bubble gum band, That's just one man's opinion.

  6. d.... ....

Smooth brilliance, that was our Rick.

  7. A.... S....

so sad ,a great loss to all

  8. B.... F....

Empathy, good looks, quiet reserve and that clear voice with talent is what Rick had. Just listening brings me back to those good times at the beach in the 1960s. Thank you. RIP Rick.

    'Ricky sings Willie'...
Ricky's "Hello Walls" was track eight on his Decca Records 1966 album 'Bright Lights and Country Music'...
Five years earlier on May 2nd, 1961 Faron Young's original version of the song peaked at #1 {for 9 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart...

  12. b.... ....

    J.... F....

+Dave Jones Appreciate the offer, but that's what I have already created. Just had to have some kind of copy. Thanks again.

  14. B.... A....

Well I'm dumbfounded...When I started listening to this playlist today I had know idea Rick recorded this song and other classics. I'm hearing a lot of these songs for the first time today...what a treat, and he does such a great job on all of them. I grew up in the 50's by the way...great job Rick. God Bless :)

    B.... A....

That's just how I felt myself when I found his country album at a record sale many years ago.

  15. Y.... ....

Jan. 2015:  Had no idea Ricky ever recorded this song and I remember Ricky from the 50's.  I know you can't read this comment Ricky, but you did a great job on this song.  RIP.

    Y.... ....

I'll bet you he can, because even though his body is gone, his spirit lives on.

  16. P.... O....

Brilliant version of this Song, Rick had the lot looks, voice, style and personality.  What a loss to us all RIP Rick and sure your sweet songs will last forever.

    P.... O....

    Yes they will

  17. D.... M....

Wow! A very good rendition of this old classic!

I remember driving in my truck and hearing of Rick Nelson's plane crash, felt suddenly old and sad.

  18. J.... T....

    Amen - Mr. Nelson.. Amen.

  19. K.... B....

    Nice song...

  20. T.... H....

faron young sang this great clasic .Ricky sings it just lovley .thanks for sharing

  21. b.... ....

You are so right, It's hard to understand. In my humble opinion Ricky is a close second to Elvis, he had it all Looks, hair, voice, and style, and some of the greatest musicians backing him up, not to mention his pedigree, Ozzie and Harriet.

    b.... ....

In my opinion it would be a close 3rd after Johnny Cash and Elvis.

  22. C.... D....

    I TOTALLY AGREE, TOO!

  23. C.... D....

Rick Nelson, Teen Idol of the Century? Y-E-E-E-S-S-S! G-O-O-O-A-A-A-L-L-L!

  26. j.... b....

Ricky is the Perry Como of modern pop. Both sang so effortlessly.

  27. m.... o....

    One of my favorites !

  28. H.... R....

And I named my dog Run Around Sue no,kidding, that was my ex wife!

  29. J.... F....

I don't think Ricky was ever given the recognition and tribute he so rightfully deserved, It was a true loss to the music industry and the public in general when he died.

  30. d.... ....

    Dat chin

  31. m.... ....

    Faron would be proud......

  32. C.... ....

small range...lord....everyones a singing teacher now? Ricky was a very talented man, and way good lookin too!

  33. b.... ....

    @Mark18240
I am astounded that anyone could ever have the opinion that Ricky Nelson sings well, and had a narrow range. Who do you think sings excellent?, The Beatles. You must tune in your tin ear, Ricky Had it all, voice, looks, hair, and could sing anything, from Rock n Roll, to Country, to Pop.

    b.... ....

    Absolutely true

  34. s.... ....

Bright Lights and Country Music was originally released in 1966, Country Fever in 1967. was made available as a CD with both albums. Probably still available online, or Ebay.

  35. s.... ....

My cousins named their kids Ricky and Dion. Saw his last concert in Australia 1985 he and his band blew every one away. Sadly missed

  36. b.... ....

    @glipzik
I have to agree with you, Ricky could sing it all....

I had a vinyl double Country album by Ricky got it at a used vinyl records sale, after I loaded all the songs I wanted I gave the album away, I now wish I hadn't...... I don't remember the album title, probably " Ricky Sings Country"....... I have seen a comment on another of the songs I uploaded that there is now a CD of this but I have never seen it.
