Ricky Nelson - Hello Mary Lou Lyrics
Hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you
I knew Mary Lou, we'd never part
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Flashed those big brown eyes my way
And oo I wanted you forever more
Now I'm not one that gets around
Swear my feet stuck to the ground
And though I never did meet you before
I said, hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you
I knew Mary Lou, we'd never part
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
I saw your lips I heard your voice
Believe me I just had no choice
Wild horses couldn't make me stay away
I thought about a moonlit night
My arms about good an' tight
That's all I had to see for me to say
Hey, hey, hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you
I knew Mary Lou, we'd never part
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart
Yes hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart

Ricky Nelson Hello Mary Lou Comments
Great sing-a-long song with brilliant rhythm guitar accompaniment.
Huh, i shazamed a song and it gave me a different song but I'm mildly pleased this exists. Happy little accidents

JOHNNY B. FAVORITE SONG BUT
HE WENT OFF ELOPED WITH JESSIE TRAVIS IN 1956
I honestly don’t think people give James Burton enough credit for being such an influential lead guitar player. I mean he was doing these intricate complex guitar solos when NOBODY I mean NOBODY else was doing that. I mean when he came into prominence it felt like the lead guitar gods of the late 50’s were gone and were replaced with strings and backup singers and other things that were NOT shredding lead guitar parts
Sam Williams I think James Burton is a great guitarist, but was that him or was it the “wrecking crew”?
Mario Saldana absolutely without a shadow of a doubt that was James Burton On Guitar. He got hired to play for Ricky because Ricky got sick with working with older Jazz and Country cats who did not understand or appreciate rock and Roll. James was closer to his age so he got the job because of his playing abilities and how much he got that whole genre and he really perfectly complimented Ricky entirely

James Burton is a beast. I remember hearing this when I was five and having shortness of breath and a free-falling feeling in my stomach from his solo. Goodbye heart indeed.
Love this song...🙂

I love Ricky. Being a teenager in the mid 1950's to early 1960's, I grew up with all the singers mentioned here. Yes Elvis, Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers, Bobby Vee, Gene Pitney, Chuck Berry are many more of my favorites but Ricky will always rank up there with the very best.
I love Ricky Nelson, when I was young in the 60's black & white, TV, fell in love with his looks, his voice, his songs, his lips, shall never never forget him, so happy we can still play back his songs, on You_tube.
RIP Mary Lou Maloney. Prom Queen
Unvergänglicher Evergreen, immer und immer wieder schön.
best rock and roll song ever nrecorded!
HAD THE HONOUR TO SEE RICK WITH HIS BAND IN THE EARLY 80'S,,,JUBILLEE AUDITORIUM,,EDMONTON ALBERTA,,,IT WAS A WONDERFUL CONCERT,,,THEY PLAYED ALL HIS GREAT TUNES AND THE BIGGEST CHEER WAS WHEN HE TOOK HIS JACKET OFF AND TURNED HIS UM SHALL WE SAY BACKSIDE TO THE AUDIENCE,,,THE WOMEN SCREAMED,,,THIS IS THE SAME BAND THAT PERISHED IN THAT AWFUL PLANE CRASH A FEW SHORT YEARS LATER,,,I THINK RICK WAS ONLY 45 YRS. YOUNG,,,GOD BLESS HIM AND THAT GREAT BAND.
A TOE TAPPER!

my mom and dad grew up in the 60s so i heard a lot of him growing up, still have a soft spot for these songs.
Just lost my daughter in law who was only 49 whose mom died at age 37 and was named Mary Lou.
I remember Rick Nelson performing at Doyalson RSL NSW Australia in 1983, my late wife and I were privileged to be there, He singed a beer coaster!!))
He was the only serious competition to Elvis in his heyday.
Ricky Nelson was a great talent he had a quiet dignity about him. I have grown to appreciate his singing more over the years this recording is about 60 years old and is still good he had a clear voice. You could always understand the lyrics

My beautiful grandmother passed away today. Her name was Mary Lou, but to me and my brother she was always Mimi :) Growing up, my grandfather used to play this song on the guitar while we danced and sang, jumped on and off the bed. He worshiped her. My father (her son) passed away 3 years ago due to pancreatic cancer. Although I can’t bear that she’s gone, I can’t help but rejoice at her being reunited with my dad, and that she’s no longer suffering. RIP my precious Mimi! Til we meet again my angel!
knics33 Mt Big mommy died in March my dear at the age of 114. She was the oldest old girl in the USA.her name was lessie brown. My heart goes out to you friend.

Hello Mary Lou goodbye heart........
Waylon Jennings actually used Ricky's band on occasions. Waylon Calle Ricky "Hollywood cowboy"
With all due respect it just blows my mind that this son is almost 60 years old. I know the sound is probably enhanced some. But it’s amazing the quality is to me. Of course Rickys voice with the spot on instruments don’t hurt either. I’m just blown, classics don’t fade at all!!! Thank you Mr. Nelson! Rip man 😞
