Rick Springfield - Miss Mayhem Lyrics
That girl has a gift
Like a social disease
If you catch my drift
She brought me to my knees
And like a wrecking hammer
’til I said please
Oh yeah
Was it her plan of attack
While she was raking my back
She left me hanging
with my heart in the drain
Say a prayer for me
It’s my misguided notion
Silent as the scream
There were no warning signs
in her eyes
And I’m so pleased to meet you
Miss Mayhem
I’m sleeping with a time bomb
She’s counting it down
I’m walking with napalm
In an organdy gown
Into my private slammer
She locked me down
And kept the key
Oh yeah
She is the woman in black
She is my panic attack
She’s with a no money back guarantee
Say a prayer for me
Winter is here in the summer tonight
She’s freezing my emotion
As deadly as a scream
Swear I don’t see any fear
in her eyes
Thanks for introducing me
to Miss Mayhem
Tryin’ to run
while I’m shakin’ the dust off
Cryin’ to you while I’m
Scraping the rust off
Lying to you
while I’m breakin’ the trust up
Won’t you please
Say a prayer for me
Winter is here in the the month of July
It’s my misguided notion
Silent as the scream
There were no warning signs
in her eyes
And I’m so pleased to meet you
Miss Mayhem
Say a prayer for me
Winter is here in the summer tonight
She’s freezing my emotion
As deadly as a scream
Swear I don’t see any fear
in her eyes
Thanks for introducing me
To Miss Mayhem

Totally love this song!
Thanks mom. Now I love this.
hi 2019
I'm impressed. Rick's back.
Hanson+sons of anarchy song.
Rick, God's gift to the world'. Love his spirit, true turn on.
I have loved this man since I was 12 years old! Still sounds and looks incredible!
I found this by typing my username into google and hitting 'I'm feeling lucky'!
BEST NEW SONG of 2018. WOW! SOOOOOOO Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! Love how he adapts different instruments into his music. Keep up your awesomeness Rick! pls. Long time not said.
New music.. GLITTER DOGS
70's style melodic rock
Album: COLORS THAT FADE
ON YouTube and Spotify
Well i love it! Genius song writing as usual! People don't be afraid of new music! I still feel and hear the Rick spirit like I've always had. Great job! Can't wait to see him in Kingsport!
Saw him about a week ago and I must say this song needs some serious radio play.
Loved it the fist time I heard it, killer song.
i love rick.... he is awesome.
Saw Rick at Genesee last night... amazing!!! He's still got it.
rick came to my hometown yesterday pa.
this man is legend. finally got to shake his hand.
just awesome. great guy indeed.
when will he ever tour down under........
Great song! Heard it in concert recently. (Bummer the video is dragging a bit)
07.16.16 @ The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, Ca. See you there..........
my fav. love the sound
Really Rick??
just seen Rick live great show!
Rick why do you do roar live?
If this doesn't make you jump up and clap than nothing will. Love this from Rick.
Soooo Muscle Shoals.... G is the chord of the people.....
It is catchy, but it doesn't sound like Rick.
+John Huggins Anything Rick does IS Rick. He has such a huge internal variety of music. This reminds me of the kind of sound he has when he just picks up a guitar and plays whatever comes off the top of his head. Oh, it's Rick alright.
+John Huggins That's cause it sounds like real rock. Its gotta be one of heavier song he's ever done. Im actually not embarrassed to roll the windows down and crank it in the car compared to alot of his other stuff. Especially at 52!!
This is my favourite of the tracks previewed from the new album, though they all sound good. Very cool instrumental and vocal arrangement. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing.
Best song Rick's brought out, since the eighties... hands down. Intro hook, is catchy as hell. We're all getting older, but Rick's music is still rockin'. Rick wrote this one, with Matt Bissonette. Eric Stewart, I'd rather listen to "an old rock guy" who has talent, and can still kick ass with a six string, over newer 'young rock guys' who don't have much to say, lyrically, and need "autotune" to make it at least SOUND like they can hold a tune....without the proverbial bucket. "New Country"? Uh.... fuck no. If you've heard Rick's music prior to this, then you'll realize that this really isn't that different, from some of his better songs, in the eighties. This sounds slick....but without feeling "overproduced".... and it's FUN. (Hell, we've all been there, with our own "Miss Mayhem" at one time or another... and what a wild ride that is!) I like this one a lot, and I'll be playing it regularly.
Curtis I absolutely agree 100%!!!!
This is great! I want to hear it on the radio. Makes me want to dance!
I have always loved Rick's use of word play in his lyrics. Definitely more genius than he was ever given credit for.
i love ricks music, but i have to laugh. This is just another old rock guy who thinks hes got to jump on the "new counrty" band wagon to fit in. Just stick to what got you where youre at. No alternative, no modern country. PEW!
So what you're saying is artists should just stick how they started? Never strive to grow , branch out and try new things? Do you even art , bruh?
@Mike Tabor Not at all. Everyone should try to grow and be creative. The Beatles were always changing. For me Id rather hear Rick, Steven Tyler, and other artists who have put out "country cds" continue to put out good rock n roll like they aways have before. I write songs with friends all the time, even country songs, but I dont change my style just to go along with the times.
+Eric Stewart When Rick just grabs a guitar and plays whatever he feels, this is the sound he does a lot. So this IS Rick. Actually I don't get where people think it's "new country." It's Rick
Refreshing!
Made me think of Curtis Stigers' theme from "Sons of Anarchy". :-)
+Ian Winther Ha, cool! Especially considering one of Ricks best friends and former drummer Jack had a part in SOA, lol
Lynyrd skynyrd style !!!! love it
I just scrolled through my subsciption box and clicked on the video. I absolutely don't regret it. Very catchy tune, thanks for uploading.
Very catchy! I'm playing it for the hubby and kids this morning during breakfast. Family consensus: We Like It!
And I, of course, #luvthissong
