Rick James - Glow (Reprise) Lyrics

Let love forever flow
From your heart
Leave your heart open
To each and everyone
Your love's like a rainbow
Shining
So let your love shine
Shine
You'll find
All your dreams
Will come true if only
You just
Let somebody know
Open your heart
You will glow
You will glow
You will glow

Rick James Glow (Reprise) Comments
  1. D.... X....

As a DJ and clubber from back in the day I have this and all the other wonderful timeless tracks that Slayd5000 uploads . As well as 1000's of other underground/rare/soul /funk grooves. Strictly vinyl only for me.

My advice peeps - don't just listen to these on compressed formats because you're not getting the full flavour (I'm sure Slays5000 and other purists would agree.

Get yourselves some turntables, a power amp , decent speakers and listen to this music how it was meant to be heard.

    Buy vinyl.

    Peace 👊&❤
    Peace

  10. W.... B....

This dude is up there with Brown, White, S Burke, Hutson and Rawls, for MELODY and PASSION. If you don't know already, Rick James WAS the Mary Jane Girls, Stone City Band, Val Young and the Temptations '' Standing On The Top '' which was funky as hell. So check out all their work and you'll find Rick James wrote and produced most of their stuff. His bass lines are very heavy, considering watching him he seems so camp, with all the acting and costume shit, and it's those deep base lines that gives him that air of funk master general, and it's the music that counts.

  11. K.... D....

    RIP. PLAYER BOSS

Master Rick had a voice that no matter what he sang, one can move and jam to.

  17. J.... f....

    9 thumbs down ????

  18. W.... M....

Rick James should have worked with Diana Ross on an album, I actually can hear her singing this too!

  19. R.... C....

What is HIp-O Select/Motown/Universal Records doing? They been supposed to re-release Rick James Glow, Bustin Out L Seven,Cold Blooded,The Flag albums on CD. Corner stores, the pizza spot down the street from my house, the park, Lincoln's and Fords lining the street! Phew, this is my coming of age song! Rick James would be blaring from my mother's stereo and my Grandmother would bring home Rick's albums only for us to blast them too. I think this song is very beautiful especially the reprise. As a woman Rick reminds us that when we glow we do feel better about the fierce queens we are! R.I.P. Rick your music still touches us (and my children born in the 90's and early 2000's) your music lives!

  21. K.... M....

Rick blew his ass off on the Reprise along with the Process and Doo-Rags them Niccas were harmonizing.

  22. t.... v....

this is great played it all these years. What a song and singer all into one.

  23. D.... C....

How underrated is this track? Far better than Prince imo.

    D.... C....

Hahahaha....... makes me think of their beef & when Rick said. "On tour, at parties Rick would walk up behind Prince & grab him by his hsir, hold his head back & pour conac down his throat & say 'little bitch.' & Walk off & laugh. Prince would spit it out & be so pissed but he was scared of Rick. They seemed to respect each others music & talent but outside of that they neither fully liked or hated each other...... Rick even said Prince stole his idea of an all girl group when Rick came out with MJGirls & Prince followed with vanity6. Both were great music producers & masters of style but Rick keeps with a sophisticated sparkly funky groove. Prince on the other hand could go all over the place(some WTF places at that). I have to agree with you as far as sound; Rick had more hits rather than misses as to say his quality output. Prince had more misses with quality output though the material was still good & he outdid Rick in quantity & versatility gaining him more hit hits (if you know what I mean.). Your comment brought all this to my mind because I was playing Prince all last night & Rick James all morning. I have to admit that vocally Ricks natural voice sounds better than Prince's Prince natural (nerdy) voicr but Prince & his range (,esp falsetto) just sets Prince somewhere else. At the end of the day, both of those cats were some bad Motherfuckers. & This track is the truth.

  24. R.... ....

I was driving in my car today in the San Francisco Bay Area doing my Photography thing and this Joint was played on Sirius xm Grove 50... I opened up all the windows and moonroof on my Chysler 300 and was blasting it so loud... It was Crazy..

I love me some Rick James, his music will never die, that is just how good it is

  32. U.... ....

    This song is so cool.

  33. b.... ....

Damn shame only 27K liked this song, the music has become so watered down these days, people wouldn't know a real tune if it smacked them in the ear...

  34. M.... L....

Harp at the ending is so beautiful.

  35. B.... ....

He was a good enough singer to be a straight away soul singer, without the hair and the costumes. He could have donned a tailored suit and just stood at the mic and delivered. He was that good of a singer.

    B.... ....

    Brilliantbeing Absolute FACTS

  36. R.... C....

Rick James Glow album needs to be released on CD by Hip-O Select/Motown Records.

  41. r.... ....

Just love the 'crack' of that snare drum.  No 'frills' --- Just a steady --- very steady beat.  For this type of song that's all that is necessary.  Really love just the 'sound' of the recording.

    r.... ....

reshea1950 That's called 'the pocket.' Musicians go there to jam while someone has a solo. The pocket is beautiful. Just ask James Brown.
